Things i want to see in the my little pony G6!

(In designs and story/worldbuilding)

• FUR MARKINGS, HOOVES, AND BIG WINGS!

• different types of tails for species! Especially for the unicorns, i absolutely LOVE it when people draw the unicorns with tails from unicorn mythology!

• i would LOVE LOVE LOOOVE if they added even MORE species for the main-ish cast! I know there's been a few, but those are one time Characters, i want reocurring or main characters that aren't just ponies, unicorns, or Pegasus! Especially since there are ALOT of mythology horses all around the world that would fit right in the mlp universe.

• more horse body types

• please for the LOVE OF CELESTIA (cant believe i said that EW) do not simplify the art style. MAKE THE HORSES LOOK LIKE HORSES!

• Id really like if there's Something special about earth ponies. Like imagine if they have an invisible power/strengh that makes them a little bit different than Pegasus and unicorns that don't make them the butt of every racist joke. Maybe they are more deeply connected with their cutie mark?

• important and/or main character's designs be more heavily themed.

• if they go the g5 route and decide they'll add phones for some reason, MAKE THE PHONES FIT INTO THEIR UNIVERSE? i do like the fact that they had magnets on their hooves for their phones, but i wish they'd do what the owl house did with phones.

Whats crazy to me and alot of fans is that some of these things (at least in the design aspect) were almost done in G5... BUT HASBRO IS STUPID.!!! There is so much beautiful gorgeous concept art from the pre-G5 era that is OBVIOUSLY drawn and designed by artists who have genuine love for mlp and want to make them look cuter! But i GUESS A FEW FUR PATTERNS WILL BE TOO EXPENSIVE TO PRINT ON DOLLS HUH HASBRO... im still mad about it.

ALSO... controversial opinion but i do NOT want the mane six to come back to another mlp generation. Theyve had more than enough time to shine. We need NEW main characters.

Cozy Glow as a character frustrates me. Moreover, how we never even sniffed in the direction of a redemption arc for her. (Outside of the shared one with Tirek and Chrysalis in S9 that lasted a whole entire 3 minutes). We never get to see her backstory, learn about her family, and we don’t see any motivation for her actions other than simply wanting more power. We see some other villains who do the same throughout the series, but as far as we aware, cozy glow is just a little girl. Literally just a filly. And she never gets a redemption, or help, or learns a valuable lesson.

She is a kid that hates for the sake of hating until eventually she is turned to stone. I can see from one perspective that this was intentional: having a character that is just bad to be bad can be a refreshing break in the well-built stereotype throughout this show that everyone and anyone can be redeemed. But also. She’s a kid. I don’t like it. I would even argue that that throwing a 10 year old into a horrible, vile, dungeon meant for the most vile criminals and beasts, and then turning her to stone, is inherently immoral. But that’s just me.

I’ve read around about theories that Cozy Glow isn’t actually a filly, and is instead some bigger more-ancient evil being trapped in a filly’s body, or just looking like one. When we first met her character, this is also what I thought. All things considered, she totally could be! In which case, I would probably like the way her story ended a lot more. But in canon, we don’t really get anything that hints this is true. She is a cunning and manipulative foal, and her cutie mark is a chess piece. It tracks. She is kind of just evil because she wants to be, and this little kid gets sent to a horrible prison, and then turned to stone

MLP has like. a lot of unintentional (?) psychological horror in it. discord defense coming up

thing i feel like i dont see talked about all that often but for some reason is extremely important to me remember like how absolutely terrified discord looked while he was being turned back to stone

we all know the 1000 years on the moon thing was kind of crazy right. the 1000 years of stone thing is WAY WORSE it is undeniably THE WORST punishment in the series and it is insane to me how casually its used. even as a kid i was like.. holy shit. in return to harmony we hear anecdotes from discord about being turned to stone, in which he states: 1. entities that are turned to stone are at least, partially, conscious, and can hear what's going on around them. (unclear whether or not this was specifically influenced by his powers) 2. being stone is (obviously) extremely uncomfortable, especially for him 3. it isn't LITERALLY being turned to stone, but instead a thin covering of stone that locks you in place. he describes it as a bodysuit; which seems to be accurate as depicted in the intro, the stone cracks, but when he comes out he is uninjured.

this is generally common knowledge i think but i don't often see people take this into account when it comes to his behaviour.

in MLP the villains either go; 1. redemption (starlight, trixie, etc), 2. HELL (tirek), 3. psychological torture, stone or isolation (discord, nightmare moon originally, all the endgame villains) and rare 4th. get thrown rlly rlly rlly far (chrysalis originally)

stone is the worst punishment of all of these and i think how often it is used is INSANE. the closest to it is moon isolation and even then its kind of questionable because luna could at least move. when discord was turned to stone celestia was just like... yeah... i'll put him by a hedge maze i guess? when discord (also applies to nightmare moon) returns both times they're all surprised and shit as to why they're so upset and being evil again. like no SHIT dude. discord was psychologically and physically tortured for 1000 years and the worst thing he did when he came out was torment the mane 6 for like a day and a half. the rest was just him fucking around not only could he have done infinitely worse he would have honestly kind of been justified in doing so? him trying so hard to mess with the elements could be seen as a genuine act of self defense.

mlp is a kids show obviously so it wouldn't kill any of its villains, but being turned to stone is worse. presumably, the endgame villains who were turned to stone go through roughly the same thing? it can be theorized as to whether or not discords awareness was from his sheer power or not but still. (as a side rant from all we´re ever shown of discords reign over equestria, it genuinely seems like it was an overreaction bro. maybe i'm missing some lore but like what did he even do. basically his only thing is fucking around and it seems like he only started doing the crazy shit after he was turned to stone.)

Halcyon - The Land Of Friendship

So much of the commentary I see online about Starlight Glimmer and Twilight Sparkle seems to revel in missing the whole point.

Yes, these two characters had an arc.

That arc led them somewhere, somewhere good.

Without Twilight Sparkle, Starlight Glimmer would have remained nothing more than a small town tyrant of a cult leader.

And without Starlight Glimmer?

All would have been lost.

The Changelings would have won.

Trixie Lulamoon might have died, that "Moonshot Manticore Mouth Dive" was basically a suicide attempt.

Stygian would have been wrongly banished, again.

Equestria needed some pony to remind them that even good ponies can have bad days.

Starlight Glimmer needed one good day, she couldn't give that to herself, she needed to learn how to receive gracefully.

In checking each other, Starlight Glimmer and Twilight Sparkle checked themselves.

What followed on, what did they achieve together?

Maybe it can't quite be summed up in words.

Yes, we can talk about the defeat of Queen Chrysalis' evil plans, or the fact that the School Of Friendship was saved, but maybe all of those things don't quite capture the entirety of it.

I've tried to capture something of it in the image above.

Whatever it is, we need it in the worst sort of way, here in this human world.

We don't check ourselves, and we're never going to be able to check each other correctly until we do.

We don't do that, we should do that.

It's a shame that so many ponies only like to fixate on the fact that Starlight Glimmer and Trixie can be foils for Twilight Sparkle some of the time.

That part of the relationship is based upon something else.

Something good.

I won't presume to name it, but so help me, I will point to it.

MLP FIM is about something, so I try to make MLP fan art that is about something.

MLP rarity redesign!!! I think she's lookin pretty good so far :D for my redesign I changed her cutie mark to two gems and a magnifying glass with little stars bc her whole thing is finding beauty in things, so she obviously found the beauty in the gems! Plus the stars are for her magic as she's been shown to use her magic often during her work and that one episode where she protects spike from getting hit by I believe queen chrysalis's magic blast by making a shield, I feel like as the element of generosity she would eventually learn how to do some simple protection magic as the seasons go on because she would like to protect her friends and not have to feel like just a pretty diva bc shawty can get down don't play, I made her coat black just because I really like the look of it when people do that plus I feel like it gives her that more sleek fashion look she likes! I also think that miss girl would definitely love to wear her harmony charm as often as possible because of how beautiful it is!!

The two piercings are because I feel like she had a punk/alt phase/still dresses that way because it allows her to see fashion from all perspectives and keeps her doors/opportunities open in the fashion world, she's a pretty pony but she wasn't born with as many opportunities as the other (nepo-baby's) ponies working in the high fashion world so she always makes sure to work as hard as possible and is consistently setting her self a higher bar to reach as a way to make sure she gets to where she wants to go and to show herself and everyone around her she's more than just a pretty pony! I LOVE HER!!!

anybody who hates on twilight sparkle GROW UP

shes such a wonderfully written character who grows WITH THE SHOW, and everytime she crashes out it's so valid ?? Remember the mlp movie where she crashed out on pinkie pie ?? Her reaction WAS SO VALID

people forget that twilight was originally ostracized and isolated herself to studying, though she had friends in canterlot, even they acknowledge that she would rather study than be with them

So it make sense that when she firsts arrive to ponyville she's just so awkward. You see her grow up into a fine young mare who starts considering other people, but not fully forgetting her logic in her compassion.

Auhh twilight sparkle my SHAYLA 😭

Discord x Luna is way better than Fluttercord

This was originally a YouTube reply but I wanna know what you guys think too

To be honest, I was never really a big fan of Fluttercord since the beginning because I don't think Fluttershy actually understands Discord on a deeper level nor what his actual needs are. Contrary to "Keep Calm And Flutter On" (which, let's be honest, is more fanfic than an actual episode), she's not the kind of pony to be able to actually help heal him.
