|| hooooOOOOOOO BOY I WOULD CHANGE A HELLUVA LOT (me: points to my entire headcanons tag)but here’s the first three i can think of off the top of my head.
The way they mishandled the “our mujik” thing in the last episode. like i object to the aliens in general but not only did they throw in a bad plot twist, they handled the bad plot twist badly as well. the episode’s theme was literally “oh this is our mujik, we’re making it all together!!!” but it was actually just………ode to joy…………yeah that’s it that’s how we all make mujik together………………by adding our powers to amplify the mujik of this one dude…………………………like i get that you wanted beethoven to be the protagonist. but wasn’t bach’s whole thing against mitsuru bachifying the world the fact that all eight classicaloids are necessary to effect great change and create an ideal world?? way to go writers, you just went against your own moral of the story. e.e
The way they handled Liszt. i keep promising myself i’ll do a Big Rant about it and i think i may never get to it since my impulse for Liszt Discourse continuously comes out in spurts but the tl;dr is Stop treating Franz Fucking Liszt like nothing more than a shallow and brainless performer and this applies to historically ignorant people in general, NOT JUST CLASSICALOID. they, uh, tried??? to give her some dignity i think in the girl’s night out episode when she gets aaaaaalllll deeeeep about telling the truth because we love people but i mean…………transcriptions? NOPE. religious inclinations? NOPE. death of father, loss of children, prolific teaching career, family conflicts and recreation of the family unit by mentally adopting students as children? N O P E. hell, we don’t even see her trying to romance anybody in the slightest…example number two of how classicaloid can not only make bad decisions, they can’t even execute those bad decisions in a semi-acceptable way. i could keep going on right now but im gonna stop myself because seriously fr i e nd i am at the point that if you get me going on how liszt has been mistreated by history in general and not simply classicaloid (ernest newman, thanks a shitload), i sometimes get physically angry as in i will probably start shaking and get that feeling of my brain going on fire that i feel so often when i’m around my mom. (that’s right, for those of you who know my shitty mom, seeing liszt misrepresented literally gets me as angry as i am with her which is quite an accomplishment.) i think i need a therapy support group for this shit send help
THE FACT THAT NONE OF THE OTHER CLASSICALOIDS GOT TO THE SPARKLY GOLDEN STAGE THAT BEETHES AND MOTES HAD IN EP 24 AKA TRANSCENDENCE AKA THE STAGE OF POWER I WANTED THEM TO GET TO SINCE THE BEGINNING. listen i’m a huge bag of salt about the fact that the anime seemed to focus 90% on beethoven and mozart. seeing that 1) none of the classicaloids got to fite bach and 2) none of them Transcended just confirmed that. honestly, classicaloid. season 2 better have them getting to that stage–or, if they’re not supposed to, explaining why.
