things we need to normalise:
saying “i love you” platonically, telling your friends you love them really strengthens the friendship i swear (tried and tested) because love is for anyone you feel safe with. Not just romantic
bodies of ALL shapes and sizes. A lot of “body positivity” is aimed at straight cis white curvy women, but we need bopo for men, trans folk, nb folk, gender fluid folk, genderqueer, demigirl, demiboy, androgynous, black, asian, latina, disabled, people who aren’t the “perfect” body type. All bodies are beautiful and should be normalised and not judged- this includes stretch marks, scars, birthmarks and the lot. Whether you are a smaller person, a larger person, or a bit inbetween: your body is fantastic.
females who don’t wear makeup or shave their body hair
men who wear makeup and shave body hair
children and teens having opinions about politics and prevalent issues
LGBTQ+ characters in TV and film
people who like to fuck around with their gender identity, and feel comfortable in a mixture of different presentations
multilingualism in public
girls liking superheroes and traditionally “boy” things and boys liking barbie and traditionally “girl” things
talking about how you feel
praising kids who maybe aren’t mega academic or super athletic or a gifted artist or musically talented. There are some kids who are “mediocre” and they don’t get any praise for anything.
helping people on a day to day basis
celebrating who you are and your community
not feeling sexual attraction (where my aces at my dudes)
not feeling romantic attraction
feeling a little confused about who you’re attracted to
people with disabilities or learning difficulties, they need more representation
celebrating our differences
sorry for the long post but i had to say this. we need to normalise a lot of things, way more than what’s listed.
Remember that whoever you are, whatever your talents, whatever you look like; you’re awesome and i support you 💕
