I made a free crochet pattern for this big brontosaurus dinosaur! You can get it on my blog now.
My first little amigurumi ever. It’s a little wonky because I didn’t stuff it quite right. I should’ve stuffed it more. And the little legs there are off because I was making the first two or three legs a bit too tight with the stitches and I loosened up my stitching for the others so that’s why a few are smaller than the others. The eyes aren’t lopsided but they look like that because the toy itself is lopsided.
This yarn gave me some fits. It’s super cute, but it splits so easily. I’m not sure what kind it is, I just know it’s some sort of acrylic yarn probably in a medium 4 weight. I got it at a thrift store and there was no label and someone had already used a good bit of it and rolled it up into a ball before they donated it.
I used a 3.5mm hook.
The pattern is takochu octopus by mohu. It’s a free pattern and CreateOsaur did a video tutorial for it if you’re interested in making your own and prefer that. I found the video tutorial to be slightly confusing around the fourth row, but most people in the comments seemed to be able to follow it super well so maybe that’s just me.
I plan to make another one soon. :) Maybe that one will be less wonky. Practice is always a good thing! :D
Crochet Dumbo Octopuses with white lace stippling! I made these ages ago (I think maybe in December???) but only just now listed them on Etsy for some reason.
Check out my crochet sea creatures page on Etsy here for all sorts of other cephalopods and critters!
I made a free crochet pattern for these cute little pugs!
Get it here: Mini Amigurumi Pug Pattern.
My sea creatures pillowcase is the perfect background for this deep sea dumbo octopus plush !
Is anyone else studying for finals? I had my physics final this morning, tomorrow I have my organic chemistry final, and on Wednesday I have systems neuroscience. Can’t wait to crochet (and sleep!) when this is all over.
I am sad- this was my last quarter of organic chemistry. And while these classes have been very challenging, ochem is really growing on me and I’m going to miss it.
