Monster's Ball by Abigail Larson
ive been reminding myself to post this for about a week now, but i dont like the fact that born born dance by dokonjofinger sounds A LOT like monster dance by keytalk. its not a case of the melodies being the same or anything, its like... the composition? they way the instrumentals are arranged, the background chorus shouts in born born dance (which are NOT exactly a dokon staple imo, from what i can tell theyre more of a wooaaaaaooaaaa type not a oh! oh! oh! type) the progression of the whole song basically. while being different it feels like. idk. two chefs in a chef program making their version of the same dish. except monster dance is rather old by now (also better tbf. アルバラーバ アルバラーバ )
i cant really explain it because im not exactly music savy but its just the vibe i get that its wrong because it feels like subtle plagiarism even though its most likely not.
also because i put monster dance in my “i want lloromannic in sb69″ playlist BEFORE i properly listened to born born dance so i feel cheated.
here’s the two songs if anyones curious about a comparison
KEYTALK - MONSTER DANCE
DOKONJOFINGER - BORN BORN DANCE
edit
actually now that i hear these back to back the beginning is extremely similar while still not being the same melody am i going insane or is this valid because its a tribute or something. help. help

I’ve said this a handful of times, but we really have to thank Smash Bros having Simon for the fact that Monster Dance got another remix in an actual game after 30 years. Because for 30 years, Monster Dance was like a sock that got lost in the dryer next to Bloody Tears. And now that Monster Dance is in Smash Bros with Bloody Tears, it’s like that sock came back.
I MADE IT BETTER
Lots of new stuff in this. I learned how to use the NLA editor to mix different animations, plus I used the video sequencer to add music. I even started adding new scenes, but Blender keeps crashing when I try to utilize them :<
I asked Matt to design me a monster. He drew this and said, "Make it wiggle and rain shrimp." I like to think I met his artistic vision.
This features fur particles (not the dynamic kind), rigid bodies, and Eevee. Eevee definitely isn't as capable as Cycles, but it can render without crashing the laptop. It's nice to see my animations at full speed!
By the way, the material for the shrimp is entirely procedural. Behold my chaotic node tree:
