What if Rapunzel took the Moonstone?

So last night I had a bit of a "what if..." moment and before I knew it I'd written a mini story and was drawing the frames for an animatic!

So yeah, this week my brain is on evil-SunMoonEugene.

I might actually have to do some more writing for this cause it's so angsty and evil Eugene! Ready to do anything to get his girlfriend and friend back!

Hi y’all! So I’ve been seeing the Moon Eugene Rp recently and I couldn’t help but try and do a Moon Eugene heh 😅 I am not the “best” artist yet. I saw a few people do a screenshot of Eugene and just color and change his appearance, so I thought I give it a shot for my first time heh 🙂 this is the best that I could come up with, I was so wanting to draw him I’m armor like Cassandra and other amazing arts of Moongene I’ve seen but ahh I can’t draw spikes as you can see lol 😂 so this is the best I could do lol 😂

Moon AU

[Eugene finally arrived to Corona, his old home. Eugene felt a tug in his heart, he knew what was coming and he wasn’t sure if he was ready for it.]

*Sighs*

Okay Eugene, this is it no turning back now.

[He entered the castle gates and stood in front of the Castle. Everyone gasped when they saw Eugene enter the courtyard.]

*Looks around seeing everyone staring at him*

Hello Corona, I’m back! Did you all miss me?

Here I am with some art after hardly posting anything ever, HI!! And with Tangled stuff no less. 

So bit of explanation time: If you’re familiar with any of my old stuff, you probably knew about the “Tangled 2″ art I had with giant Eugene and the circus and in that originally it was the sundrop tear that transferred to him, and instead of his hair growing, it was in his blood and made the entirety of him grow.

Now fast forward to now and since the Tangled series came out... I had been waiting around wondering if I’d ever be able to bring it back or not based on whatever they ended up having within the show. I’ve loved the series so far and it’s close to being done so I finally thought to insert a tangent AU based on more recent events where I’d thought it’d fit ffff

So in this case here: Eugene, after finding out he’s the dark prince and whatever, is also supposed to be a guardian to the moonstone along with his bloodline. King Edmund would also have been giant in effects of the moonstone and using it to keep others from it’s unwieldy power and gave Eugene away not wanting that burden on him. Eugene obv doesn’t care about the bloodline stuff, but he does care about Rapunzel. He only accepts this fate as a way to protect her. So instead of Cass doing her thing and betraying and Gothel (which I have some issues with tbh..*), we’d go with what was made to be a red herring and didn’t really end up coming much to anything plot-wise or character arc-wise between any of them?? Lemme crank up the angst and make his existential crisis solo have more meaning. Still working out details from this point, but I wanted to try it. *Don’t get me wrong tho, I still love this series as is and can’t wait to see where it ends up going. The animation has only gotten better with every season too; PLEASE FUCKING WATCH THIS SHOW!!!

Team Moon

Au where there is more than one MoonStone.

Thousands of years ago, a single drop of moonlight fell from the heavens and created the Moon Opal. As the years went by, the power of the Opel spread throughout the world.

Now, as the night of the Eclipse approaches, destinies will collide as a group of strangers join together.

Each with the power of the Moon.

Rapunzel, the Cursed Princess

On the night of the full moon, Queen Arianna of Corona gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. On that same night, darkness was born into the world.

Princess Rapunzel of Corona was born with shiny black hair, and a very odd power. Because of this, her father kept her safe inside their castle. Trying to keep whatever darkness was inside the princess, contained.

Years later, on the Princess coronation, the day the young girl would become a Crowned Queen, her true power took over in the middle of the ceremony. Rapunzel fell into a trance-like state and began reciting a strange magic incantation.

In an instant, the lights dimmed, the plants all withered, and every person in the room fell weak to the floor.

Horrified by what she had done, Rapunzel ran away from her kingdom, her home, and her family.

Upon escaping her kingdom, Rapunzel decided to travel the world, determined to find the truth behind her power and who she is meant to be.

Little to the knowledge of the Princess, when she had spoken the Moon Incantation it was during the same time of the Eclipse.

Which sparked a chain reaction throughout the world, awakening every power of the Moon.

Eugene, the Dark Prince

The Dark Kingdom protected the Moon Opal for centuries, another piece of the Moon's Dark Power. The latest protector was King Edmund and his son, Prince Eugene.

All his life, Eugene was trained alongside the Brotherhood, preparing for the day that he would become King and take over the responsibility of protecting the Moonstone. 

One day, determined to put an end to the destruction, King Edmund tried to destroy the Moon Opal. Unfortunately, the moon's destructive power reacted wildly. The stone would have killed the King... that is if Eugene had not jumped in. 

To save his father, the Dark Prince seized the Moon Opal, which resulted in the stone merging with Eugene's body. Attaching itself onto the prince and feeding him its power.

King Edmund and the Brotherhood tried to save the Prince, and convince him to give up the power before it corrupted him. However, Eugene was seduced by the power, not only that but it showed him what had activated the stone.

Embracing his new power, Eugene fled the Dark King with the Moon Stone. Determined to find his destiny.

Cassandra, the Moonstone Knight

Mother Gothel treated her daughter as a servant. forcing her to clean the house, cook for the both of them, and tend to her mother's beauty needs. Without knowing a thing about her father, Cassandra could only dream of a new life.

To make up for her loneliness, little Cassandra dreamt up a friend to tell her deepest secrets to. Growing up, her imaginary friend was the only person Cassandra felt cared about her.

However, as she got older, Cassandra realized that her friend was not as imaginary as she previously believed.

In truth, her friend was a demon from another dimension, a powerful being known as Zhan Tiri who saw potential in the young girl.

Zhan Tiri explained that she saw great potential in the young girl, and only wanted to help her grow up to become everything that she wanted. Cassandra agreed to follow her friend's path.

No matter how dark is was.

One night, Zhan Tiri gave Cassandra a gift: A Moon Opal. Zhan Tiri said that it would give Cassandra what she always wanted

Freedom, a Purpose, her Destiny.

Varian, the Crescent Light

All his life, Varian knew he was different, he didn’t know how or why; he just felt it. Sometimes Varian would try to speak to his father about it, but his Dad would always brush it away.

One winter, Old Corona was suddenly overrun by mysterious and dangerous black rocks. Which was destroying the village. For the sake of the village, Quirin decided to evacuate and move somewhere safe.

However, Varian was determined to find the truth behind the mysterious rocks. Despite his Quirins instructions to avoid them. Behind his father’s back, Varian experimented on the rocks, to figure out their purpose and strength.

However, one test went wrong, exploding and knocking the boy out. While unconscious, Varian saw a vision, a vision of truth. Not only about the rocks but about him as well.

He is the descendant of an ancient demon known as Zhan Tiri. The black rocks had been searching… for him!

Upon waking up, Varian confronted his father with his discovery. Quirin tried to explain but the boy was too angry with betrayal. All this time, his Dad knew what was wrong with him but he repeatedly lied to him.

The Black Rocks responded to his anger and spread throughout the Old Corona, destroying everything.

After the dust settled, Varian was gone.

Angry & Red, Children of the Moon

Lance Strongbow was the guardian of two young orphans, Kiera and Catalina. The small family was indebted to the Baron, a powerful criminal all that made them all steal for him.

The two young girls knew how much their Dad scarified for them, so they began keeping a small portion of the Barons fortune so all of them could leave Corona and escape their debt.

However, just as they had made enough to leave, The Baron learned about their plan. After taking away their fortune, the Kingpin has Lance imprisoned for their betrayal and tossed the girls out to the streets.

Angry and desperate, the two girls begged for a way to help and save them, but no one seemed to hear them.

However, the Moon did.

On the night of the eclipse, Kiera and Catalina were given a gift, what they always wanted: The power to stand up for the Baron and save their father.

The Moon gave the two girls the power of becoming Werewolves.

With their new power, Kiera and Catalina freed their father and all of them were able to escape their Barons clutches.
