Things from Lockwood & co because I can part 2:

Episode 3

Lockwood planting a bomb in his stuff as a decoy and hiding one on the premise to use

Lockwood pausing at the top of the staircase. Why did he do that?

I just want it throw this in here, but the lighting in this show is amazing. It’s so dark but everything can be seen really well and I just really appreciate that. It’s dark enough to be spooky but not dark enough that you miss anything. The flashlights and the way things are lit is just really cool to me

The red room scene. It’s so freaky and cool watching the blood drip into the room and the panic of the of them all trying to get the hidden door open to escape and the way the camera angle spin as the blood continues to drip, and the noise it makes and oh It’s just so cool, and as someone who’s always wanted to make a scene like that it’s just cool watching it idk

The chanting of the monks is so creepy and the way their shadows appear and how the chanting gets loud, it just gives me shivers

Lucy slapping George awake then literally crawling over to Lockwood as he calls for her, holding his hand as he comes to, and the way they look at each other (We always talk about how in love Lockwood is by the way he looks at her, but Lucy looks at him just the same (except when he’s being an idiot that is))

“Oh where’s his slap?”

Lockwood and his death wish

Even though he has a death wish he still looks scared when he thinks Fairfax might kill him

Lucy saving Lockwood (and probably all of them) by stepping in and letting Annabel get her revenge

“I’m working with maniacs” (You sure are George)

George stealing the googles (George and his stealing stuff)

Lockwood getting Lucy her fourth grade and George smiling big behind them

“You belong here” (The found family troupe has my heart)

The fact that George is looking out for Lucy because “She’s finally starting to get me” and I love them (he’s so happy about it and it makes me happy)

This episode was so creepy and cool and I just love it

Episode 4

Lockwood being pissed about being rescued by Kipp’s crew (the scene’s just funny)

“And you just want to watch him… die” (just the way he says it and their faces lmao)

I feel robbed that we didn’t get to see George and Lockwood find and carry Lucy upstairs (it either would have been a cute Locklyle moment or a funny one trying to watch them struggle to figure out how to do it without dropping Lucy lol)

Lockwood being the showman he is and charming the crowd (love him)

The slowly spinning camera transition to them walking to the grave

The buzzing sounds and Lucy’s unease and panic and the loudness of it all

The bandage scene. It’s probably one of my favourites honestly. How close they are sitting, how awkward Lockwood is about it, the rain on the roof, Lockwood being honest about the fact that we doesn’t want to talk about his past, Lucy understanding that, him helping Lucy with her wound, how she’s looking at him, how gentle he is placing the bandage on her arm…

“You believe me?” “I do. About everything”

How he looks at her, Lucy bringing back up being called an asset, the tears reflecting in her eyes, Lockwood telling her he’ll never make that mistake again, they way his eyes flick to her lips, their hands, they way they just look at each other, Lockwood’s eyes flicking to Lucy’s lips again, how close they are to each other, and then how abruptly they break apart, like they didn’t even realize until that point and the bit of awkwardness that follows. I just love it. All of it

"It's nice to see mama so… happy, for once, isn't it?"

Alcina let a breath of smoke into the air, attention trained on nothing in particular as she considered the question. She glanced back at her sister, focused on adjusting Angie's veil between sips of tea. It was hard to say if it had been rhetorical or not, so Alcina decided to answer with a question of her own.

“You don’t find it… odd?” She offered back. Donna paused. “Why wouldn’t Mother have told us she was getting married? Or, better yet, why didn’t she say she was in a relationship at all? What difference is this person to the other Villagers that worship her?” Alcina tapped her quellazaire with one finger. “It doesn’t make much sense to me.”

The silence that followed was long, and it gave Alcina a moment to mull over their unofficial introduction to Mother Miranda's apparent lover.

Alcina noticed her in the background. A brunette woman, most likely in her early thirties, standing just behind Mother Miranda. A stranger to Alcina and her siblings, yet no one had bothered to mention her yet. She seemed almost like a ghost, dressed in an ornate black and gold dress resembling that of their Mother’s, if a little less detailed. Every now and then she would move. A slight shift or a cautious fidget with her hands. Dark eyes contrasted pale skin, never moving from an apparently very interesting spot near Mother’s feet. Unfocused, and tired.

She seemed almost lost. Like a lamb that strayed too far from its pen.

Perhaps she sensed the Countess’ stare, because her head turned slightly, and her eyes were suddenly locked with Alcina’s. They stared at each other for what felt like hours. Mother’s complaints about their lack of useful experiments were drowned out as Alcina studied the woman’s gaunt face, and she did the same to her.

There was something unnerving about the exchange. Perhaps it was the silent plea from an otherwise vacant expression. Something akin to an old dog waiting to be rescued from the pound before it was euthanized.

Alcina pursed her lips, a bout of pity bubbling up in her stomach.

She broke eye contact.

The woman went ignored for the rest of the evening.

Standing.

Staring.

Until Miranda pulled her to the forefront and introduced her as “My dearest Mia.” in a sweet tone the four Lords hadn’t been aware she even had.

Alcina and Mia locked eyes again.

Neither said a word.

“Are you sure you aren’t just jealous that mama has a lover and you’re all alone?” Angie snickered, head turning fully to face The Countess.

Alcina’s jaw tensed. “I’m not jealous.” She hissed. “I simply find it strange that Mother is suddenly so… infatuated with someone. And with a woman no less. I was fairly certain she wasn’t interested in the same-sex.”

Donna gave a hum. “She says Mia is a man that’s... confused… he just needs the right person to help him.”

It took a moment for her to understand the statement, but when she did The Countess wrinkled her nose.

She hated to admit it, but that made far more sense to her.

“I don’t know that Mother Miranda is the best person to 'help'…” She muttered softly.

If Donna heard her, she didn’t respond.

The Chwûq Flats lie 80km south-east of the fishing settlement of Zrosâ in the southern bulge of Impiro. The main body of the flats lies in the centre of the Crûor river delta, cut into smaller segments by the many brooks and streams that run through it out to sea. It is the only part of the island that experiences geothermal activity. 

Impiro lies on top of a caldera that formed millennia ago which once fed a volcano that created the island. The only outlet for this caldera is the Chwûq flats, where it keeps the surface temperature permanently above freezing. Dotted across the flats are geothermal vents, hot springs, and geysers which continually churn up the black sandy soil, making the flats extremely unpredictable and dangerous to traverse. 

Unique to the flats are the Iron Trees; the only flora to be found there. Iron trees are noted for being completely without leaves, with tangled, ghostly looking growth protruding from their solid, straight trunks. They are named so because of their extraordinarily thick bark that takes on a patina-like sheen in the sunlight. In some mature trees, the bark can be up to 60cm thick.
