I find alternate dimensions so fascinating and I wish Cassandra Clare had executed it a little better in tda but I also feel it was a bad fit for the story and it was a little pointless and yeah I know they needed the mortal sword but I think she should have just found a way to repair it rather than get a new one like "oh Cortana can heal the mortal sword blah blah blah magic magic" something like that.
