I'm a bit greedy ;-), but I'd love to know your answer for E, J and X
E: What character do you identify with most? Is there a certain fic of yours that captures these qualities particularly well?
Between Jaime and Brienne, I identify most with Jaime, although there are parts of Brienne I really identify with too. And idk if any of my fics have gone very deep (🙃) into the parts of Jaime I identify with most…maybe In This Light, but not sure if it fully counts since I was going for this whole gothic thing with that fic where all but the epilogue is from Bri’s pov, so there’s this filter of her perception of what he’s thinking/feeling that blurs the reality of what’s actually going on with him.
J: What’s your favorite fanfic trope? Have you written it?
I answered this one before with arranged marriage/marriage of convenience—which I’ve written in another fandom. Some of my other favs are fake dating and two dorks one bed. I’ve played with those, but wouldn’t say I really used them to the full extent.
X: How would you categorize your fanfic reading? Are you a voracious reader? Do you carefully pick and choose? Something in between?
Uhhh this depends on the fandom. I’m always a voracious reader when I’m reading, but my pickiness depends on the amount of content available. Until recently pickings for JB were slim. The first two times I seriously looked for JB fic there was almost none and then barely any (pretty sure there were less than 200 JB fics in the ao3 tag in 2012), and both times I read everything I could find. I didn’t really read any JB fic from 2014-early 2019 and when I came back to JB fic, there were like 4000 more fics than when I left. Because of that, I’ve been able to be choosy.
I can’t read canon fic right now—not even book canon. I’ve tried. All I’m reading is AU—nearly all Mod AU. I like long stuff, love multi-chapter, rarely read a one shot under 10k words. And I’m avoiding WiPs for the most part, because there’s so much fic I can do that and still have enough to read. I’m also almost exclusively reading stuff recommended by friends, or stuff pulled from rec posts.
