In Honor of National Watermelon Day...
Try this delicious mix to keep cool and hydrated. All these ingredients are comprised of at least 90% water, but still pack benefits for the body. With cucumber’s main benefit being its hydrating properties, it’s no surprise it holds the highest water content of any solid food—just over 96%. Celery comes in a close second with a 95.4% water content, but adds folate, vitamins A, C and K to the mix, while assisting in neutralizing the stomach. Watermelon brings Lycopene, a red fruit/vegetable antioxidant known for fighting cancer, to the table while adding to your daily water intake. Lastly, strawberries and parsley—my two favorite ingredients in this mix. The strawberries give the juice a smooth texture while the parsley adds just enough bitterness to cut the sweetness. These two ingredients also add an immune-boosting, toxin-flushing kick to your refreshing, hydrating juice.
