i've lived through some of this and been bemused by most of itā¦
the contingency of manga readers upset that the cat didn't get kicked to death in the anime never really died out. the cat wasn't real, y'all. it was just part of mogami's Cosmic Horror Fun Playhouse and i urge y'all to at least try to understand why dark shit often gets toned down in anime adaptations. please. i am so over such complaints.
y'all really didn't know wtf to do with kurata tome-san. tome the tomboy whose only friends were guys because she hadn't yet found similarly-weird girls she vibed with. tome the complex character and Well-Written Girl in a ShÅnen Story whose guy friends didn't take the time to understand her until right before she graduated on to high school. she deserves more than just 'lesbian'. for shame.
