POV: msm Collosingum hcs

Let’s just get started

Fights in the Collosingum happen multiple times a day. There’s 1v1s, team stuff, everything. Spectators can come watch if they’d like.

Monsters are able to control the powers of the element via music. Unlike in-game they aren’t limited to turns and specific moves.

At the start of every fight, whoever is currently running the Collosingum (it’s currently a Shellbeat named Deluge, we don’t talk about what happened to the previous host) is required to say ‘sing till one falls’. This simply means to bring your opponent to the ground, without hurting them and especially without killing them.

The Collosingum has other rules too, including both obvious ones such as precautions against cheating, to oddly specific rules that nobody is ever really sure why they’re even there.

Most fighters of the arena-like island are residents for a few weeks, months, or years, rarely breifly or only for one or two rounds, and never their whole lives. They can apply or leave as they please, though you must be an adult to apply.

My ideas about the RitRawt disease!

Check the Epic Oaktapus bio if you don’t know what I’m talking about (TW: Descriptions of disease/body horror stuff!)

RitRawt is an extremley rare fungal disease that more commonly affects plant-like monsters, such as Oaktopi, Shrubbs, Potbellies, ect, though it is possible in any species. 

It can be transmitted by breathing in spores, and at first the effects might seem like a normal illness, just stuff like being nauseaous and vomiting. However, it soon starts spreading to the skin, creating lime green tendril-like patterns, as seen in the Epic Oaktopi. At that point, the disease takes further control over a monster's body, causing them to lose control over their actions as the fungus begins to take over their brains. 

Once it spreads too far, the monster essentially becomes a walking zombie. Their bodies start rotting and practically die, but the fungus continues to control them.

There is no known cure and all monsters who get it are to be locked in a completley airtight facility. If RitRawt fungus is found growing outside on a critter or plant, it must be destroyed.

Since the fungus’ main weakness is heat and fire, a few fire monster species (particularly Candelavras and Kaynas) are immune, and the fungus is much rarer on hot and dry islands. It is most common on Faerie Island and Plant Island.
