VOLCANO ACTIVITY REPORT OBSERVATION PERIOD 21-12-2021 12:00-18:00 WIB VOLCANO Merapi (2968 masl), Sleman, Magelang, Boyolali, Klaten, Special Region of Yogyakarta and Central Java METEOROLOGY Cloudy and rainy weather. The wind was blowing weakly to the southeast. Air temperature is 17-23 °C, humidity is 80-88%, and air pressure is 873-955 mmHg. The volume of rainfall is 3 mm per day. VISUAL Mountain clear, fog 0-I, to fog 0-III. Crater smoke was not observed. Observed 1 lava fall with a sliding distance of 1,500 m to the southwest. EARTHQUAKE Drop (Quantity : 33, Amplitude : 3-12 mm, Duration : 33-160 seconds) Blowing (Quantity : 1, Amplitude : 3 mm, Duration : 17 seconds) OTHER DESCRIPTION NIL ACTIVITY LEVEL G. Merapi Level III (Standby) RECOMMENDATION 1. The current potential hazard is lava avalanches and hot clouds in the southeast-southwest sector for a maximum of 3 km to the Woro river and 5 km to the Gendol, Kuning, Boyong, Bedog, Krasak, Bebeng, and White rivers. Meanwhile, the ejection of volcanic material in the event of an explosive eruption can reach a radius of 3 km from the summit. 2. The community should not carry out any activities in the potential hazard area. 3. The public should anticipate disturbances caused by volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Merapi and be aware of the dangers of lahars, especially when it rains around Mount Merapi. 4. Mining in the river channel that originates at Mount Merapi in KRB III is recommended to be stopped. 5. Tourists are recommended not to carry out activities in potential hazard areas and crater openings as far as 5 km from the peak of Mount Merapi. 6. If there is a significant change in activity, the activity status of Mount Merapi will be reviewed immediately.
