Rung takes care of you when you can't sleep:

A/N: It currently 4am & I've been up sing 3am... so let's write about it... I meant for this to be platonic but honestly yall could probably take it as romantic if you wanna. (Ask box is open so drop in!)

Rung is a very caring guy & also clinically trained to help so you know he's gonna be there the moment you reach out to him. Especially since you are the resident human on board. It's rough being the only human on a giant alien spaceship, so he worries for you.

The moment you commed him late at night he would be up & wide awake answering it within a few rings. Immediately asking what's up & how he can help you. And this Mech means it. He wants to know exactly what you need/want for help so he can give it to you to the best of his ability

Essentially he's creating a care plan on the fly. Asking you what's up & how you're feeling & what your needs are. Starts piecing together a care plan for you & how to get you comfortable and back to sleep. Because sleep is so important for humans. Like sure Cybertronians need recharge but they can also afford to go a cycle or two without it before their diagnostic systems start pinging it as a problem. It's not unheard of to go without recharge for a bit. Humans though... he knows the longer you go without sleep the more stressed & unfunctional you'll get. He knows each hour awake past your bedtime your brain is deteriorating so he's gotta get you to sleep asap.

If you just need someone to talk to he'll keep his com line open and let you talk to him through your phone. If that's what you want. It'll be a mix of a late night friends phone call and therapy session. He'll ask how you're feeling, if you were sleeping & woke up or can't fall asleep all together. He'll help take your mind off the fact that your supposed to be sleeping so you don't get all in your head. Telling you stories from his past (only the lighthearted ones though). And encourage you to do some deep breathing. Eventually he'll start asking you to close your eyes while he's speaks. He'll insist it's just for a few minutes, and then you can reopen them if you're so inclined. Really what's he's doing is using his soft spoken voice & comfort along with an eyelid movement technique to make you sleepy. Eventually when you do fall asleep he'll hang up, but then text you explaining that if anything comes up please call him again & he doesn't mind helping.

If he has to come to you he's there as quick as possible. He also takes this in person route if you had a particularly jarring nightmare that woke you & that's why you're calling him. In that case he would much rather be there in person to comfort you & bring you back to a safe reality where your sleeping boogeyman can't get you.

When he does come over he immediately asks where you would like him/how close you would like him. He would never overstep your boundaries in such a sacred space as your room this is your space & you deserve to feel safe. So if you want him sitting on the floor in front of you, he'll do it. Sitting on the edge of your bed, okay! Or maybe even some cuddles, he can do that too. Either way once he's situated in the place that's best for you he'll start a similar process of asking what's up, what happened, how you're feeling. If you had a nightmare he'll reassure you it's not real, and just your mind creating imagery through rapid eye movement and random neuron firings. If it's Insomnia he's on the fix.

Eventually this will turn into him once again tell you lighthearted stories in a hushed tone while encouraging deep breaths and eyelid movement that induces sleep. If you're okay with it he'll rub your back too if that helps. Anything that keeps you calm & encourages sleep really is on the table.

He will ask if taking melatonin helps. If it doesn't no biggie, if it does he has some feel free to take some. Or he'll offer calming tea as well, he's a big snacks guy so when he saw some space port was selling herbal calming tea he grabbed it (cause he knows finding humans stuff this far in space is hard so anytime he sees something that might be helpful for you he buys it)

I feel like Rung would also maybe mess with your thermostat in your room because humans tend to need it slightly cooler to sleep to induce that initial core drop into sleep that naturally happens. It supports healthy REM. (He knows this because he did his research on humans when you first boarded the ship)

I just feel like he has a bunch of tricks that induces natural sleepiness in humans so if you spend enough time with this Mech he'll find the right combo for you & get you to sleep

Also he would definitely not give up until he helped you or had to quit for the day. So you know you're either getting to sleep or at least not alone in this ordeal. And that to him is what helping those in need means. Because he knows he can't 100% fix everything or magically make things workout. But he also knows having someone there for you means a lot. Which is why he insists on you never hesitating to reach out for help especially for something as serious as sleep troubles. But it's also good to know he's not going to be disappointed or upset with you if you don't end up falling asleep. Because he knows in the end sometimes you just can't.

If you do successfully get to sleep though he will check in briefly with you the next day. Just a quick how are you feeling, how did you sleep the rest of the night & do you think you'll need him again tonight. Cause he doesn't care he'll help you two nights in a row if that's what you need to fully recover your sleep schedule or catch up on sleep.

If you weren't successful in falling asleep the night before he will help you again without you asking because at this point he knows it's dire you sleep. (Because once again humans sleep cycle is IMPORTANT) So he'll try all the techniques again in a new order or combination. Maybe even throw in some new calming sounds with tapes he found or trying new eye movement methods to induce sleep. Eventually he will find the right combo & techniques for you & when he does he remembers them for later. So if you ever call him again for help he can pull from the roster & make this process smoother/faster.

Rung doesn't see these moments as him helping you as a professional but rather him helping a friend with the knowledge he has. So don't think he's just doing it to treat you or because you're just a patient to him. He's doing it because he cares for you.

All together Rung is just super patient, super helpful, and very knowledgeable about how to make sleep happen. He also takes into account your personal preferences, needs, and situation to find the right solution for you as a person. He's not going to rush you or be upset with you for your trouble with sleep. Rung is simply going to lend reassuring & relaxing aid.

Lost Light Crew Walks in on You Changing

warnings: slightly implied sexual references? not that much. mostly just the crew being goofy. I suppose this takes place in a human AU, or maybe the reader is human. I don’t know. Or care.

Rodimus

-He doesn’t even knock. He just barges right in, freezes, and practically screams some apology. “HOLY FRAG, I’M SO SORRY! I mean, damn, you look good, but I’M SO SORRY!!” He takes waaaaay too long to shut the door again. He then later pretends like nothing happened and flirts with you instead.

Drift

-He blinks. You blink. “Uh? Can you shut the door?” You ask. He blinks again, then you swear he whispers, “Sweet Primus” under his breath as his eyes travel up and down your body before swiftly turning out of the room. You’re all he can think about the rest of the week. Not that he would ever admit that.

Ultra Magnus

-He doesn’t even see you. He knocks. You respond that you are changing and he leaves with a quick apology. The next thing you know, a two-paged apology essay is sent to your datapad.

Ratchet

-He’s a doctor. He’s seen everything. A quick mumbled apology and he’s leaving already. Never mind the slight blush he has. What blush? Nothing happened. I don’t know what you’re talking about.

Cyclonus

-The second he enters he’s already walking backwards out. He doesn’t even apologize, he just makes painfully long eye contact with you. “Oh.” he says before slipping away. He then proceeds to avoid you for three weeks.

Tailgate

-“OH MY PRIMUS I’M SO SORRY HOLY SCRAP PLEASE DON’T KILL MEEEE!” There are tears. Lots of tears. And tripping and more apologies as he tries to close the door. He slams his own digits in the door. “OW! AUGH I’M STILL SO SORRY!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE FORGIVE ME!” Cyclonus has to console him for hours.

Whirl

-“Are you sure you don’t want to help me steal Magnus’ door?” He barges in without so much as a pause, despite your exposed state. “No! Whirl! Get out!!” He does leave, but not before adding a few choice comments about your cowardice surrounding acts of vandalism. “Fine, I’ll make Skids help me. Also, you look pretty sexy. Not that I’d ever compliment you. I just meant like, objectively.” It’s possibly the kindest thing he’s ever said to you.

Brainstorm

-There’s a lot of stammering, and mumbled swearing. You’re sure he’s blushing and sweating like crazy. He steps backwards, covering his face with his briefcase. “Sorry. I mean of course I’m lucky to have seen you…like that, at least it wasn’t Perceptor who walked in…I’M GONNA GET BACK TO MY LAB NOW!”

Perceptor

-You might not even notice that he reacted at all. A flick of his eyes over your body. A slight stutter. He remains in the room, calmly talking to you, but you notice he’s more fidgety than usual. You smile at him when he leaves, and you swear you hear him release a sigh as the door closes.

Rewind

-Immediately shuts off his camera—and he never does that. He almost runs to you to hold your hand and apologize, but then he realizes that would just make it more awkward. Instead he covers his face and walks backwards out of the room, leaving you to shut the door yourself as his panicked little chattering fills the hallway.

Chromedome

-“Oh. Sorry.” He instantly covers his optics and starts to leave, before turning back around, still covering his face. “Do you want me to erase this memory? For both of us?”

“Uh…” you heasitate.

“I mean…it was a nice view.” He all but whispers, making you laugh. “You don’t have to erase it then, Domey.”

Skids

-Of course he doesn’t cover his eyes. He leaves, of course, but not before making a low, appreciative whistle. He makes a twirling motion with his hand, as if to ask you to spin so he could get the full view.

“Absolutely not. Get out, please.”

“Aw. It was worth a shot.”

Megatron

-Like Magnus, he actually knocks. When you explain that you are dressing, he just gives a swift apology and returns about ten minutes later. There is nothing awkward or undignified about the situation. I mean, did you really expect anything different from Megatron?

Nautica

-“Hey, can you-OH! SO SORRY!” She practically leaps in the air before covering her face. It then takes her six tries to shut the door properly. She doesn’t make eye contact with you for an entire month. Skids apologizes for her again later in the day. Legend has is that she blew a fuse blushing.

Rong

-Huh? When did he walk in on you changing? You don’t remember that? Well, I’m sure he would’ve apologised very politely.

Swerve

-“DAAAAAAMN, YOU LOOK GOOD!” the amount of eyebrow waggling he is doing should count as a medical condition.

“Please get out before I steal every last ounce of engex from your bar.” “Fiiiiine.” You swear he makes the 😔 face in real life.

Nightbeat

-For once in his life, he isn't running his mouth. He just stares. You swear he is committing every bare inch of your body to memory. He appeared mesmorized, as if he was finally confounded by some mystery.

"Uhm?" you squeak, and he snaps out of his trance.

"Sorry. I was just-uh, you look great. Yeah. Bye."

Getaway

-(in a perfect universe, you would shoot him upon entering because of everything he did.)

"This is one room I don't want to leave." He was leaning against the doorframe, drinking in his view of you. Despite your best efforts to quickly cover up, he still hadn't left. Or apologized for barging in. Let's just say he would be in there for a while.

First Aid

-He makes one step into the room, physically shakes his head, slams his mouth shut, and then leaves as quick as he possibly can. You want to visit him in the medbay? Nope. He's found some random patient to work on. You want to drink with him at Swerve's? Nope. He's drunk himself under the table the second you enter the room. Good luck ever getting him to look you in the eye again.

Velocity

-“Oh! Oh, wow- I mean like a good wow, but oh! I’m so sorry!!” She accidentally leaves the door open on the way out. She spends the next couple of weeks wondering if this will cause her to lose her medical license. It doesn’t.

Riptide

-It takes him maybe three whole minutes to realize that you aren’t properly dressed. Enough time that you’re pretty much already dressed by the time he finishes yapping about whatever. “Oh, wait, sorry! Should I have knocked?”

“I think it’s too late for that.”

its my time: human's kind of a gremlin and bots are very climbable. so naturally when they start liking a bot/trusting them, they're all over them. they don't even need to be picked up anymore, one moment they're on the ground, the next they're on your shoulder. how would IDW fort max, ultra magnus, drift and bc it would be funny, megatron react?

A tad confused. You could’ve just asked and he would’ve picked you up?

Concerned for your safety at first, and does his best to stay as still as possible when he notices you clambering up his leg. Honestly not a huge fan of it, but that mostly revolves around the possibility of you falling

After you explain that you do it because you trust him, he relaxes the littlest bit

Enjoys the contact, if he’s being honest. Something so small trusting him enough to just?? Climb him??

Gets used to it soon enough, making a habit of slowing down his movements when he feels little hands grabbing into the seams of his plating to haul their body up

Ultra Magnus

WHAT are you DOING??

Very against it at first, going on a tangent about some rule or another, not to mention the safety risks and the disrespect of an officer-

With his sound warnings in mind, you obviously continue

Begrudgingly accepts it after a while. He knows there’s no way to completely stop you from climbing bots, and he’d prefer it be somebody that he’s sure would be able to catch you if you slipped

Which is, coincidentally, himself

More willing to let it happen after being told it’s a sign of your trust, though he asks that you refrain from doing so when he’s in a meeting or doing something important

He starts to respond to the feeling of grabbing hands with a fondly exasperated sigh and a greeting

He takes the risks into consideration, of course. He’s much bigger than you, and you could fall so easily. But you look so determined scrambling up his side that he just lets it happen

If he knows you’re about to start ascending, he tries to lean down so you can have an easier time getting up

I feel like physical touch is a love language of his (both platonic and romantic), so he’s a big fan of having you on him

Unsure of what to do, and decides to gently shake you off. Thankfully it wasn’t that high and you landed safely

Honestly not really into it. He’s a bit uncomfortable with the thought of something so small using his body like a jungle gym, and with how often you manage to surprise him with it he’s worried he’ll have a knee-jerk reaction and accidentally hurt you

Once he learns that it’s because you trust him, he’s floored. He’s done so much damage to your planet, to your species, and you trust him? He needs some time to mull that over

Eventually settles on a compromise; let him know before you start climbing him and please respect it when he says ‘no’

- The lost light had docked recently, allowing many to visit the ever evolving earth - Of course the human liaison was going to go! You had people to see and things to do and get before you left again - Megatron decided to escort you after Ravage 'persuaded' him to accompany you - More like worry the warlord to death than you might end up in danger and remind him of the dangers of the human world - Ravage may have over exaggerated...a lot - You got your hotel and travel couvered for you by the space program you worked with, and Megatron naturally stayed with you - Megatron was smart and could figure out most things - Pleasantly surprised at how nice a warm shower felt, and used one of your soaps - It smelt just like you, and relaxed him to no end - He didn't seem to understand the concept of frying off, and when he tossed his clothing back on it was SOAKED and transparent - " Are you okay, y/n? your face is red " - " Yeah uhm... let's get you dried " - One blow-dryer and an hour later he was sparkling fresh - So was the image of his shirt sticking to his toned chest in your head

Ratchet [MTMTE]

- Normally he didn't wish to participate in games aboard the LL - But the thought alone of you going on your own AND his only other option being going with the rest was too worrisome - So he took the dare with pride, and requested to accompany you - Trying human food was a pleasant surprise to him, they all tasted so peculiar - He would try all kinds of snacks with you as you indulge in treats you hadn't touched in well over a year - Once however, while you were introducing him to your friends, someone pointed out how he chewed with his mouth wide open - Quickly grabbed you to leave, he was very flustered - " You never told me, y/n " - " I didn't want to stop you! You never looked so happy! " - The grumpy bot then stuck to drinks until you returned home - But he didn't show you all the snacks he saw you enjoyed most that he piled into a crate for the ship until you had taken off ;)

Swerve [MTMTE]

- Basically initiated the dare on himself by making a bet he knew he would lose - You took very kindly to having him join you on your voyage - After the amount of media he consumed, he knew more than you! - So he seemed to adapt rather well, to most things except the lack of a laugh track - Whenever he made a joke and it was silent, the mech got pretty upset or worried something was wrong with the world - " Laugh tracks are edited in " - " They are WHAT " - Unacceptable! he gets a little device that plays a laugh track whenever he clicks a button - Very content with himself, but also with how you seem to smile when he does it - Or maybe you really do find his jokes funny! A bot can dream
