I might draw over some of the comments on the original vid too but for now
One left with courage and returned home for their loved one (Interstellar), and the other left without a choice but found their courage far from home (Project Hail Mary).
As what Commander Yao told Grace, “There is no bravery gene. You just need to find someone to be brave for.”
Cooper found that courage in his daughter. Grace found it in Rocky.
the odds of someone cute sitting beside you on the plane are actually zero btw.
Okay hear me out what if murphy's law au Ford had all the good luck
-> He didn't understand his homework? Whoops what's this someone's homework from the grade above him that explains his problem? Just floating in the breeze for him?
-> Oh no! There's bullies! Oh hey! His brother's here!
-> Oh no! He has no realistic future prospects to help with the intependance he's searching for! Oh hey! The best school in the country found him in the middle of fucking nowhere on the other side of the country and now they want him and all he has to do is stand there with his already made science project for a full ride scholarship!
-> Oh no! WCT is out and Ford now has extremely slim prospects as a Jewish student in a low income household with the Jewish quotas on so many institutions. Oh hey! Another school found him and gave him a full ride and introduced him to another genius and gave him his first grant!
-> Oh no! He's picked a field of study that hasn't been invented yet! Oh hey! He's getting a research grant anyways and it's big enough to build him a giant house with several stories right out of college!
-> Oh no! Zombies! Oh hey! He's got two other people with him and coincidentally a three part harmony kills zombies!
-> Oh no! He's disempassioned by gravity falls and needs something new before he gives up on it all! Oh hey! Cave drawing!
-> Oh no! He's being tricked by a demon! Oh hey! It's the most pathetic most yearning one of anything that could have come from the abominations between dimensions! And it's in love with him!
Ford has never noticed this once. People drop money on the ground all the time and wind has never blown his impractically long curly hair in his eyes and hes never met a man-eating anomaly when it was hungry but he thinks these are completely normal things - in fact he's unfortunate because of his hands and his brother.
Him and Stanley used to balance eachother out as kids into usually normal luck with occasional chaos
OMFG you are a genius!!!!!
I was kind of thinking along these lines, that Ford would be a counter-balance for Stan’s luck but this adds SO MANY LAYERS OUGHFHJDKDKDLS
Firstly, after the science fair I think Ford’s luck would reaffirm all he knew about Stanley, that he was only causing him trouble and that in the end he was better off without him.
But here’s the thing… what if Stan’s curse projected his luck outward, so all the good luck he should have had attaches to people who are close to him/ who he feels a strong emotional connection to.
So the longer Stan isn’t around the more normal Ford’s luck becomes until he’s made it to Gravity Falls and his good luck charm has run out. Since he’s never really noticed his luck before but has technically never experienced anything truly awful happen (other then Stan being kicked out and his supposed betrayal) he doesn’t have those same danger markers everyone else has.
Bill shenanigans ensue anfbhdkskdldmfnnf
You guys hurt me on a spiritual level this is canon to the au now 😭😭
When Stan comes and starts helping him, after they have a long talk about what’s been happening, I think it would click when Ford find’s a lot of unicorn hair scattered outside the shack and Fiddleford decides to talk to him and destroy the memory gun and just ???? suddenly everything improves for him because Stanley is around.
How sickening it would feel to realize everything you’ve accomplished and worked hard for was made even easier by his twin’s own detriment.
Spoke too soon.
