Henri Lehmann painted Franz Liszt in 1839, when the pianist was already a sensation across Europe. Audiences fainted at his concerts, collected locks of his hair and treated him more like a modern celebrity than a classical musician. None of that frenzy appears here. Liszt stands with his arms crossed, dressed in black, meeting the viewer's gaze without a hint of performance. Lehmann strips away the spectacle and leaves only the person behind it. I’m back from my trip to Paris.

I’d add the pictures I took of the rest of the portraits at the Carnavalet and one I took of the Danton statue at Odéon, but I hit the image limit.

You’ll have to forgive me for the mediocre photography, I’m no natural…

My trip to France!

So, I was in France for two days. Spent one day at Versailles, and the other in Paris! (After that we went to other countries but that’s not important because of the autism™️). Here are my favorite pics from Versailles!!

Got to see my dead Husband Louis XIV 💕 (Just because I find a Royal Guy cool doesn’t mean I support the monarchy btw. They all sucked. But he’s one hell of a diva and I love him for that.)

I cried really really hard and almost fainted outside the marble courtyard.

The next day, we headed to Paris, in which I spent the whole day dragging my mother around to look at French Revolution themed things and Locations. The Musée Carnavalet was my favorite 🥹🫶
