Happy new year! I hope 2021 is infinitely better than the year before it.

One of my favourite kdrama trope thingies is guy looking at girl with love and longing while she looks at another guy or something else.

I first noticed it in While You Were Sleeping, a drama I watched for Jung Hae In and Jung Hae In alone. I wasn't a big fan of tall guy main lead (I've forgotten his name) and the story didn't grab me enough so I looked at Hae In's pretty face and I daydreamed.

Do you know any other dramas where this trope is used because I need more of that longing in my life right now.

I need dramas that absolutely devastate me with second lead syndrome, please and thank you.

I can’t say off of the top of my head which shows have that type of scene (though I do remember it happens in When The Weather Is Fine) but maybe our kdrama fam can compile a list! Wanna try?

Help a fam out: Can anyone else remember a k-drama where the girl says something is pretty, and the boy agrees because he’s looking AT HER?

As far as Second Lead Syndrome, I recommend: Romance Is a Bonus Book, Eighteen Again, Chicago Typewriter, Jealousy Incarnate, Thirty But Seventeen (I loved both the first and second men) and yeah, my favorite poly ship: While You Were Sleeping. I don’t have a ton to recommend because I usually drop shows where I like the second lead better :P
