Something that's been driving me crazy about Tears of the Kingdom (and BOTW):
All of the Zora in the domain; with the exception of Sidon, Yona, Muzu, and Dorephan; are dolphins. Mipha was also a dolphin.
Sidon is a shark, Yona and Muzu are some sort of rays (manta if I had to guess), and Dorephan is a whale.
Dorephan I can understand, he's the king and presumably one of the oldest Zora. It's not terribly clear but I get it.
Yona is canonically from a different domain and I'd assume Muzu comes from the same one. The two have similar features in their heads as well as sort of skirt looking fins near their legs. That also makes sense.
But Sidon? Our boy Sidon? Why's he a shark? Why's he the ONLY shark. Why aren't Mipha and Sidon the same sort of fish? You'd think with a domain FULL of dolphins, the king's son would also be a dolphin. But he's a SHARK.
Anyway my theory is that Sidon is an illegitimate child
Hiii it's me again sorry to bother you!
I have a question about Runala & Co. ! If Muzu if from the Farore Sea domain, does that mean he too arrived to the Lanayru Land domain as a "gift" like Runala ? What's their opinion about each other, and furthermore, what does Granny Zora think about all of them? (I suppose she's from the same domain as our favorite captain since she's a whale)
I have so many thoughts about them, one question at the time is good I guess
Hello again!! you are NOTTT bothering me in the slightest. in fact I'm loving the interest in my silly little zora headcanons and ocs and whatnots :)
Muzu arrived to the capital Domain wayyyy before Runala did. Most likely, it was of his own volition, for better opportunities in the capital or something like that – unlike Runala who was sent there by the Lord of the Necluda sea Domain as a job upgrade of sorts. At some point Muzu became a trusted advisor to the royal family, trusted enough to eventually help raise Mipha. When he doesn't arbour a burning hatred for someone over their perceived responsibility in his ward's untimely death, I imagine he is a rather intelligent and pragmatic man. But I digress.
Muzu's opinion of Runala was very neutral at first. He did appreciate how she became the focus of most of Dorephan's grumpiness, leaving everyone else much more relaxed – not that Dorephan was ever a mean person, just... intense to be around. Later on, Muzu grew to deeply respect her as his Queen.
Runala always thought of Muzu as a grumpy old man (even when he wasn't that much older than her) and a stickler for rules that she didn't care for. That did not change, but she did grow to appreciate how reliable that made him as an advisor and as a friend.
As for Granny Zora... I suppose whether she's from the same place as Runala or from the capital would depend on if she was born into the Zora royal family or married into it. Either way, she is fond of Runala for the simple reason that by the nature of her job she is dedicated to Dorephan's safety, and Granny thinks it will do her son some good to be around someone who is so different from him. I don’t know if she would have any particular feeling about Muzu – it depends on what position he had before becoming Dorephan's advisor, I guess.
I hope I answered all your questions, and i apologise for the late reply + no art, i have been sick this week and I'm still recovering :/
Despite it being 100% true that the zora armor was made for Link and Link was Mipha’s boy crush you cannot deny Muzu’s argument that that being the proof of Mipha’s feelings for him is some ethereal level Cinderella bullshit. Like, Sidon, baby are you seriously gonna look me in the eyes and tell me you think Link is the only person in all of Hyrule who wears a size children’s extra small????
I spent valuable time in photoshop
Link: Can we talk about fish?
Zelda: Uh, sure?
Link, looking over at Muzu: They think they’re better than me
