“You have returned. Why?”

The streets around Whitechapel were unusually empty. People were becoming to scared to walk around after dark, afraid they would run into the Ripper. Strangely enough, that was exactly who Cassandra was looking for. She had been the reaper luckily enough to reap the poor women who had been killed, but it seemed she had been seen at the crime scenes. This had caused some of the detectives investigating the crimes to become suspicious. While they didn’t seem to really believe a woman could do such horrible things, they were still suspicious enough to follow her around. This was making it very difficult to do her job.
She had another appointment tonight, which is why she was walking the dark streets at this time of night. She was headed to the location given to her this morning. A feeling in her gut told her it would be another Ripper killing, which is why she was headed there early, hoping to find the killer in the act. The sooner the killer was caught, the sooner the police would leave her alone.

me too. i prefer character driven stories. and a lot of people complained there was no “endgame” but why does there have to be one? its a story about people’s lives. life doesn’t have “endgames”
Yeah, I don’t really know. Also, as far as I’m concerned, “endgame” can just be any sort of conclusion. The villain was killed off and people ended up being moderately happy. The End. The end game was that most of the conflicts were at least resolved a little bit. That’s all I ask really.

IM ALWAYS IN DEFENSE OF FREAK SHOW i think people hated it for being slower paced and more focused on acting chops than big thematic shock scare moments or smth like coven and murder house???
Yeah, I think that’s it too, but I don’t know, I kinda like slower paced things? Not that fast paced isn’t fun, but I’m a sucker for character driven stuff. Let’s delve into thoughts and actions like nobody’s business. I do wish there had been a bit more supernatural happenings in Freak Show, but it was still a fun ride. Like I said before, I’m not saying people have to like Freak Show, but the things they point to just make me feel like they’ve missed the point entirely.

(Can we form a club?)
A “Fuck y’all. Freak Show had a damn theme” club? Well, at the rick of sounding cheesy, I’m down to clown with that idea. mxrdrake, you want in?
mxrdrake replied to your post: Out of Tricks
SAME, RIGHT??????????????????
It frustrates me to no end honestly. Like, no one has to like it, but the theme is right fucking there. I enjoyed Murder House, don’t get me wrong, but man, that was just a mash up of things. I guess the central idea was something about family, but there were a lot of weird off shoots that kinda also act as themes that don’t particularly go back to the same central idea? Like, there’s Moira’s thing, the Satan Baby, school shootings, loving the idea of someone but not actually them...which can all be traced back to the house and its “bad vibes” in some way, but that’s still not exactly a theme? At least, with Freak Show I can trace back to the theme of “freakishness”. Dell and his closeted homosexuality, the freaks being developed people beyond their title as “the freaks”, Dandy being the villain even though to the outside he is “of good standing”, TWISTY NOT ACTUALLY BEING AS BIG OF A DICK AS HE COULD HAVE BEEN, etc...
Seriously though, good or not, it has an easily discernible theme.
