re: manga asura's hairstyle being better than anime asura's. can anime asura do this? can anime asura tower over me and lift his hair up to reveal the nonhuman third eye i already knew he had while he stares at me in contempt and strangles me? no, no, i don't think he can. i don't think anime asura is even capable of towering over people, did you see him, he's like 3 feet tall, in the manga he's basically a tree. it'd be cool and all for him to be romantic and tender and caring with me but it would be much hotter if he slowly manipulated me to distrust everybody but him and then slowly gaslit me to distrust myself and then drove me insane to a point where i would be dependent on him for all emotional regulation and even acquiring basic necessities, basically becoming a living pet of his. i don't want him to just kiss me, i want him to take me out fritz haarmann style, biting my neck so hard it tears through my carotid and gushes out into his mouth in what the serial killer called his "love bite." i'd love for him to tie me down and all but i'd love it more if he picked me up with his scarves and threw me off the top of a ten-story building, or just gradually pull all my limbs further and further apart until the bones break and eventually the skin and muscle tear right off. i want him to wring his scarves around me so tightly that the skin around my throat tears. it'd be cool and all to win over his heart or something but i'd also like him to carve mine out of my chest with his bare hands, opening flaps of skin and muscle and tearing out ribs and digging around, making such a mess of my body that my blood is more over him than in my body, making such a mess that i'd probably already faded into unconsciousness before i get to watch him take it out and watch it pulse in his hands and then take a bite out of it raw.

it'd be cool and all for him to love me, but it'd be much better if he skinned me alive, it'd be much better if he tore off my muscles fiber by fiber from my body, it'd be much better if he flayed open my guts, took my intestines out and slit them down the middle, sewed them back together inside-out, and then put them back in my body like that, it'd be much better if he unhinged his jaw like a snake as shown in the manga and just swallowed me up whole with my body slowly being eaten away by his stomach acid, it'd be much better if he gouged out one of my eyes and then dragged me across the floor and slammed my head against desks and tables by the dangling optic nerve, it'd be much better if he smashed my head like a watermelon between his thighs, it'd be much better if he grabbed my head and tore it off my neck taking the entire spine with it, it'd be much better, to be his work of art

However before I go I wanted finish up my remaining WIP’s (and maybe some last requests idk), this fandom has been so important to me and I couldn’t leave entirely lol. There weren’t very many things in the world that Logan hated, but being interrupted when he was working made him want to scream.

The moment Janus had knocked on his door Logan’s black crow wings bristled aggressively, slamming against the stiff cushion of his swivel chair.

“Come in,” he said with a sigh.

“Logan?” Janus asked, opening the door. His brown and yellow eyes scanned Logan judgmentally.

“When was the last time you slept?” He asked, crossing his arms.

Logan turned towards Janus, pushing down a wince as his right wing popped painfully.

“I’m perfectly fine Janus, I’ve slept” he said, glaring sharply.

“When?” Janus snapped back.

Logan inhaled sharply, putting his head against his wooden desk.

The blue LEDs lit up the shiny wood, it was cool against his warm skin.

He just wanted to get this done, it was important. Who cares if he hadn’t moved in a couple hours? He was fine.

Janus signed from behind him. “Logan, this isn’t healthy. It’s my job as your friend to make sure you’re taking care of yourself. And this,” he gestured at Logan slumped over against his desk, “is not good for you”

Janus crossed the room silently, his tan woodpecker wings brushing softly against the carpet.

He placed a gloved hand gently on Logan’s shoulder. “Lo, please. I want you to be safe. Just take a break.”

Logan shook his head, sitting back up. “Janus I need to finish this project, the council needs it tomorrow and I’ve still got at least another 20 pages to go”

“How many pages have you finished in the last half hour?” Janus asked.

“Umm two.” Logan said, scrolling back up, “but I can usually get around 8 done in a hour so I’ll be done in approximately two and a half hours if I stay productive”

“It’s already 3am, it’ll be morning by the time you finish.” Janus rubbing Logan’s shoulder carefully, as if he was something delicate, something precious.

“You’re exhausted, you’ll be more productive when you wake up, and you don’t have to sleep long, just a couple hours.” Janus said, his voice like thick golden honey, “what time is the project needed tomorrow”

“8pm” Logan said, pressing his lips together.

“That’s plenty of time once you wake up to finish. Just a little nap, for me.” Janus said, looking down at Logan with a small smile.

Logan felt his resolve crumble.

“Four hours. That’s it. I will set a timer” he said glaring at Janus.

Janus’ thin smile grew into a grin, his sharp fangs pressing against his bottom lip.

Logan needed to stop getting distracted by Janus’ mouth.

In a blur of gentle coaxing and kind silk covered hands Logan found himself lying on his stomach on his mattress.

Janus sat next to him on the bed, touching his wings as though they were made of glass.

“Oh Logan,” he said breathlessly, “your poor wings.”

“When was the last time you preened?” He asked, pulling his hand back as a handful of feathers fell onto the sheets.

Logan shrugged. Objectively he knew it was important to stay on top of these kinds of things, but this project had been so important to him that preening had slipped his mind.

“Would it be ok if I preened them now? I’m used to doing Remus’ so I know how to handle beat up wings.” Janus said with a small laugh.

“Mmmhmm” Logan hummed. He spread his wings as far as he could and tried to relax.

Janus tugged off his gloves and dress shoes, rising to a kneeling position on the bed.

He carefully brought a leg over Logan’s, “is this ok?” He asked, hesitating warily.

“Yeah” Logan breathed, turning into the pillow in hopes Janus wouldn’t see his flaming cheeks.

Careful clawed hands settled gently at the base of Logan’s left wing. He suppressed a shiver as they slowly raked through his black feathers.

Looking back up at Janus he saw his friend (friend friend friend) concentrating fiercely on the task at hand.

He fell into a haze of bliss as the grime was cleaned from his stiff wings. The only thing that mattered was Janus’ cool hands on his wings and the sound of their rhythmic breathing.

After what felt like a second and yet years Janus finished the tip of Logan’s right wing.

Logan winned at the lost contact. Above him Janus laughed lightly.

“Sweet dreams Lo” he whispered, pressing a kiss to the side of Logan’s head.

He quietly pulled away from the half asleep figure, only to be stopped by a thin hand on his wrist.

“Logan?” Janus asked, blinking in surprise.

“Stay” Logan rasped “please”

Janus smiled, “of course” he murmured.

Silence fell as Janus wrapped Logan in a soft hold. with his nose pressed against Logan’s soft hair, Janus smiled.

“Love you” he whispered into Logan’s curls. Logan leaned his head into Janus’ chest and sighed. “Love you too Jan.”

With that Logan surrendered himself to the comforting expense of sleep, warm and loved.

Needless to say they slept more than four hours.

Draco stands at the summit of the mountain and looks out across the bright rolling hills. He can feel the heaviness of Harry missing him. It’s always there, in the slight pressure just above his sternum, the tight squeeze of his ribs. 

Sometimes he feels content, almost happy, here in America and then it hits him all over again. Something about his happiness makes sadness’s edge even sharper. 

He turns and starts to climb down towards the grass below. The rocky path under his feet is steep and perilous, demands his focus. He’s grateful for it. It keeps him from thinking about Harry’s face when he’d left him, green eyes blown wide and desperate, begging him to stay. 

Draco breathes in deeply, lets the frigid mountain air burn across his lungs. Four more months he reminds himself, just 121 more days to rebuild, repair, return better. 

He wipes his sleeve hurriedly across his face and it comes away wet.

Janus stared at themself in the mirror. They looked better now, makeup on their eyes but birthmark uncovered. Their hair was curly and free and they wore a yellow button-down open over a shirt with snake facts. They looked a lot more like Janus, though traces of Damian seemed to cling to their thin face. 

Tomorrow they were going to get face and ear piercings with Remus and Roman. They were ridiculously excited. Virgil had jokingly suggested that they get snakebite piercings and, after finding out what that was, Janus had to get them.

Another big issue was their hair. The black locks were something the Mandax family prided themselves on, so of course, Janus hated it. They ran their fingers through the curls, Virgil might have some hair dye but would it show up on the black? Maybe they could just bleach it. 

“Oh virgilll” Janus sang, leaning against the doorway to Virgil’s room. The emo looked up annoyed, “what” he snapped. “I require some assistance, I want to bleach my hair and you have the hair dye. Help me?” they said examining their nails. “Yah sure, go get Patton, he wanted to dye his hair too, and meet me in the bathroom,” Virgil sighed pulling themself out of bed. Janus grinned and sauntered off to find their bubbly roommate.  

10 minutes later the three were situated in the bathroom, Virgil mixing a tub of light blue hair dye and Janus shaking a bottle of hair bleach. Patton was excitedly shimmying watching the two. Virgil turned around with a brush in hand. “K, Jan I trust you not to chemically burn us all. The door stays open for fumes and don’t get it in your eyes” Janus nodded, “Pat, you ready” Virgil asked laughing at the giggly boy who nodded vigorously, “alright, sit still”. With that, Virgil began brushing the blue gunk through Patton’s curly blond locks. 

Janus carefully opened the bottle and poured some into their gloved hand, it was far more liquid than expected and ran into the tub instantaneously. Giving up that idea Janus tilted their head back and poured a part of the bottle on their hair, rubbing it in. After around half the bottle was gone they reached for a plastic bag and wrapped their hair in it. 

Patton stifled his giggles, “what!” Janus questioned indignantly, “you look really silly” Patton giggled. Janus scoffed, “you’re one to talk,” they said pointing to the blue gunk covering most of their hair. Virgil smiled, their attention not wavering, “hair dye is a process, it looks ridiculous at first but you gotta trust the process” Virgil stepped back, “alright pat, I think you’re good to go” Patton grabbed a plastic bag, “35 minutes right?”, “right”

Patton’s hair, now washed and dried, was a bright blue that suited Patton perfectly. It reminded Janus of cotton candy. Remus was going to put it in his mouth at some point, it was inevitable. But it did look really good. Janus carefully pulled off the plastic bag keeping their eyes closed to keep the bleach out. They put down the bag, took a breath, and opened their eyes. Their hair was blond. The teen felt giddy, they looked so different! They rushed through the washing process, drying it thoroughly, and looked at it again. 

It was fluffy and curly and blond!!! They looked at their face carefully, this is who they were. The traces of Damian were gone, only Janus and a mop of yellow gold hair left behind. Janus laughed running their fingers through the platinum hair, they loved it. 

There was a knock on the door, “you good in their lord of the lies?” Virgil checked, “yep,” Janus choked out, “I’m good”. They took a moment to compose themself and swung open the door dramatically. 

Patton was instantly on them, “OH MY GOSH ITS SO FLUFFY!!!!!” he said, reaching up to mess with Janus’s hair. Janus grinned, ruffling Patton’s hair as well, “yours looks like cotton candy,” they said grinning. A gasp was heard from the couch, “OH MY FUCKING GOD IT DOES!!!! Babe, can I eat your hair!!!” Remus called from the back of the room. 

“This is bullying, you knew that would happen” Patton wined at Janus as Remus scooped him. “You’re my little candy puff!!! Nom” Remus said, biting Patton’s hair. Patton giggled and pushed his head away. “No!!”. Janus moved on, as cute as they were they did not need to vomit on their new shoes. 

They flopped onto their bed, Virgil complimented their hair on their way back to his room, leaving them alone to take a nap. Janus stretched out on the bed and closed their eyes, they were safe. 

When they opened their eyes again light streamed through the windows. Janus blinked the sleep from their eyes and sat up, looks like they had missed dinner. Sadly, Patton had made perogies. They pulled themself up and stumbled to the kitchen where a surprised Roman sat eating toast. “You changed your hair!” Janus nodded, too tired to respond. “Looks good,” Roman said, blushing furiously. Janus just nodded again, shaking their head to clear it, “thanks, Verge helped yesterday” They mumbled. Pouring themself coffee. The two sat in silence for a minute as Janus woke up. 

“So, uh I’ve been meaning to talk to you,” Roman said, still blushing, “about the, um, the kiss”. Janus pushed down the worry creeping up in their throat, “yeah?” they said as smoothly as they could. “I don’t want to assume anything, but I don’t want that to be a one-time thing. And… I would like to, maybe, if you wanted, to go on a date?” Roman stared at the cup of tea in his hands, his face was flushed and he was shaking a tiny bit. Janus nudged his side, “I don’t want it to be a one-time thing either” Roman looked into Janus’s yellow eyes, “And I would love to go on a date with you”

Roman ginned, pulling Janus into a hug. “I’m glad,” he mumbled. Janus just laughed and pulled his face up. The two stood barely inches apart before Roman muttered, “you’re so… beautiful Janus” the person in his arms flushed, “just shut up and kiss me”

[Pain. That's all they felt. Pain.

The crackling of the fire consuming trees rings in the background. All consuming is the cries of mushrooms set ablaze.

They run. Unsure where they are going. But each step brings them closer to their kin. Each step brings them closer to saving the life of a child.

And each time they find themselves too late. One scream cut off after another.

At some point they aren't sure if they feel the flames consuming their wings, or if it's just from another child lost in the swarm of heat and light.

With a handful of lives tucked away in their arms, they aren't sure when they collapsed.

They aren't sure when enough ash was too much for their lungs.

They aren't sure when soot coated their arms and legs.

They aren't sure when they started screaming and crying.

And they aren't sure when the handful of lives in their hold, attached themselves.

They aren't sure when they couldn't see from their left eye. When they couldn't feel their arm. When their heart wasn't their own. When they lost the ability to stand on their own.

And lastly, they aren't sure when their voice became lost in the hiveminds.]
