I think Nikolai loves gameshows. After moving in with Price, he puts the Challenge channel on every single fucking evening and sits there until gone 11 watching. Sometimes shouting the answers, deeply upset when the contestants fuck them up.
I think Price hates it. Something about him wanting to actually get to sleep without hearing ‘IT IS 1982, NOT 1985, YOU ЕБАНЫЙ ИДИОТ” thrice during the night. But occasionally he indulges in the other man, sits down next to him. Watches Nikolai jump up, punching the air, whenever a contestant isn’t shit. Doesn’t mock Nik when he apologises for getting so excited.
Buys him those shitty quiz books they make as counterparts for the show. On their days off, he’ll read out the questions just to watch Nikolai’s eyes flick across the space ahead of them, as if poring through a stack of files in his mind, before an answer arises. John had stopped needing to check what the answer actually was only ten minutes in.
