I would kill for an animated series based on these books
Stabbing vs. Impalement: Incorrect Quote
Loosely based off of an irl Discord convo I had earlier today (og convo posted below). It just gave me incorrect quotes vibes, so here ya go.
Julio: What food item will I put peanuts in today Julio: Any suggestions Matilda: Water Matilda: Like a glass of water Heathcliff: i am going to stab you ⁱⁿ ᵐⁱⁿᵉᶜʳᵃᶠᵗ Jackson: uh acktually there are no stabbing weapons in minecraft, only slashing and projectile weapons ☝️ 🤓 Heathcliff: Trident 🤨 Ruby: That’s a projectile Ruby: You throw it Julio: aaaaaaaaaaaa Jackson: you so right Matilda: tnt? Ruby: … Ruby: explosive Ruby: explosives are not stabbing weapons Matilda: shrapnel stabs i think Jackson: if you try really, really hard Jackson: i think you could do it Jackson: oh that too Jackson: i was straight up thinking like Jackson: sticking a tnt stick in someone's chest Julio: like that one guy Jackson: i am mentally stable 👍 Julio: i keep forgetting his name Heathcliff: 1. shrapnel is not a separate weapon, its a part of an explosive 2. there is no shrapnel tnt in minecraft Julio: Phineas gage Julio: He was stabbed Heathcliff: he was impaled Matilda: same thing Matilda: sorta Heathcliff: the iron rod was blunt Matilda: BUT HE WAS STILL STABBED Matilda: ???? Heathcliff: you can’t stab with a blunt object Jackson: yes you can Jackson: if you try hard enough Matilda: THAT'S WHAT IMPALEMENT IS Heathcliff: the only reason why he was impaled was because an explosive gave it enough force to go through his eye socket Ruby: impalement implies that a very large object passes all the way through someone or something Ruby: stabbing is just piercing flesh Ruby: stabbing can only go part of the way through someone Matilda: but you could stab someone with a blunt object Heathcliff: also impalement is nearly always fatal, but stabbing isnt Matilda: if you had the right amount of force Matilda: not saying it's easy or likely Matilda: just it's possible Heathcliff: you would need an obscene amount of force Heathcliff: also stabbing usually needs human involvement i.e. you cant be stabbed by something that wasnt in the hands of a human, yours or anothers Heathcliff: but you can be impaled by an object just sitting there Jackson: i do agree with that Heathcliff: henceforth Heathcliff: phineas gage wasn't stabbed Heathcliff: he was impaled Heathcliff: the tamping rod only entered his skull because the gunpowder ignited on accident Duncan: what is wrong with you guys Julio: so Julio: Peanuts in water then?
Your average N.E.R.D.S agents
Bonus:
Oh I have to. NERDS Poor little meow meow AND eeby deeby
Oh buddy I haven’t Nerdsposted on here in WAY too long . I am EXCITED for this one
“Poor little meow meow” (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fav)
OK HONESTLY?? DOCTOR JIGSAW. Out of the canon villains he’s absolutely my favorite he’s just. Such a cartoon villain but a COMPETENT one. I like him very much
“Eeby Deeby” (character i would send to superhell)
In terms of sending someone there for being gay? The ENTIRE CAST of the books there isn’t a SINGLE cishet in that series. In terms of sending someone there because I hate them? Ms Dove. Send that motherfucker straight into hell
what's an interest you have that other people haven't heard of. mine are guilty party (the Wii game), zoom: academy for superheroes, and N.E.R.D.S.
What's the most life-changing book you ever read?
N.E.R.D.S. by Micheal Buckley.
I still remember what it stands for, even after all these years: National Espionage Rescue and Defense Society.
It follows a group of five kids (one for each book) that are these nerdy spies that use their weaknesses and unattractive traits (eating glue, many allergies, big teeth) to fight supervillains around the world. There is so much more in this book than you would think - betrayal, plot twists, good life lessons, lovable characters. In five books, Micheal managed to absolutely blow me away.
I think this was one of my first fictional hyperfixations. I used to think about it all the time, pretend I was in a book scene with them, made some imaginary OCs...I was smitten. And I still look back on it with fond memories, especially the audio books. I can even remember their voices. It was all so creative and wonderful.
And I believe that also made me believe in myself as a writer, because any idea goes as long as you have great writing behind it. If you brought this to Disney and asked them to make a cartoon, they would probably hate how obvious and childish it was. I mean, nerd spies? It’s like a bunch of scientist stereotypes! It’s been done before!
But not a single stereotype was used, except in earnest and with humor and respect. There was a really sweet, chubby black kid that mediated a lot of fights and helped his teammates work through their problems. There was a white girl with poofy hair that could tell you if you were lying because of a rash on her thigh or an itch on her arm, and who was a huge control freak at points but who really cared about her teammates. There was a hyperactive Mexican kid that got his super strength and speed from junk food, and learned to have confidence in his choices throughout the books. There was a popular kid turned nerd that had huge braces and a superiority complex. A redhead with huge teeth that could hypnotize you if you stared at them.
God, I love them so much. I totally recommend N.E.R.D.S if you’re looking for a light-hearted romp. The five book series is over, and these are technically for middle-schoolers. If you’re not a great reader, don’t have very good eyesight, or if it’s hard for you to sit down with a novel, the audiobooks are a fantastic choice! They will immerse you in the story and draw you in with unique voices and timing.
some random kandi based off some pokemon i think r pretty cool + a book i like :0
[Pachirisu, Zorua, N.E.R.D.S]
