They missed something.
Ok, that was a start. “How do you know?”
I do not. But do you really trust humans to take care of their own security?
Of course I didn’t, and ART knew that, but I wouldn’t be giving it the satisfaction of agreeing out loud.
…Amena Mensah has begun a course at this planetary site as of 37 cycles ago.
My performance reliability dropped 3 percent.
“ART, you could have led with that.”

Murderbot is strong armed into taking a security contract on one of the planetary sites of the Pansystem University of Mihira and New Tideland. While there it’s forced to bunk with an old acquaintance and reckon with the ways other humans and constructs coexist.

From Elturel, With Awesome
One day I’m gonna put them all together in their own run. Four rangers, a bard, and a warlock? Surely an indestructible party. No goblin or druid is safe.
so a bunch of tieflings from the grove just outright go missing after Act 1. No bodies in the Shadow Curse, no letters, no dialogues from others. Just a dozen-plus missing tieflings. Coincidentally, only one of them was at the tiefling party.
Anyway, my headcanon is that the tiefling caravan split in two, with those who we never see again being the 'early' group - who managed to avoid the shadows and Absolute Cult and eventually get where they're going safely. It was just the 2nd, later, group that got caught up in the shadows. Guex got an early start with the early group and we never see him again, while those who hung around later were the ones we had to help out again.
