@nailhoney is having a contest and like a silly I ended super last minute! This contest ends tomorrow around 10pm Central. The rules were that it had to be either animal print or bee's. I decided to give a go at it because I have yet to do animal print manis.

Here is my "snow leopard and a wandering bee" mani. I used Pure Ice's Platinum as my base for my pointer and ring finger. Used Sephora X's Whatcha-Nail-Callit Ariel Collection Devotin' to Floatin' and Off the Hook as my leopard print. On my middle and pinky I used Ciate Chalkboard polishes. Matte black base and drew on a bee and it's wandering-ish trail. Sorry about the mess on my pinky. For some reason it just didn't want to get clean! I struggled -.- After all my nails dried I used a top coat over all of it to get it shiny!

@bluenailart is having a contest and it literally ends soon! Like tomorrow soon! hahas (: Her rules were to do all freehand art and nothing added (no gems, studs, stickers, decals, caviar, etc.) So I decided to do mermaid nails. Seeing as these are the only colors I leave at my boyfriend's house LOL

I used the Whatcha-Nail-Callit Ariel polishes by Sephora X, Pure Ice's Platinum and Essie's Using My Maiden Name. I used 3 coats of Pure Ice Platinum as a base. Then I did a gradient with Platinum and Devotin' to Floatin' on my pointer, middle and pinky. I used one coat of Ariel over the gradient. I then used Off the Hook and painted mermaid scales. On my ring finger I put one coat of Life is the Bubbles then I used Essie's Using My Maiden Name and painted a sea shell. I outlined it with Platinum. Then waited for all this to dry and put on a top coat (:

Nailsbyjkl revamped!

I decided to change the layout because not only did I find that people were confused as to how to navigate around my site but also that it wasn't inviting enough. I hope this new change brings in more readers. I appreciate and love all those who follow and read what I post already!

Updates:

Isabella's Polished Day. Soon to come will be a section dedicated to my baby cousin Isabella. I rarely get to see her seeing that she lives a far ways from me. She tells me that she loves to read my blog so I decided to start something for her. She will once a week or biweekly choose colors or a theme that I will have to base my mani on. I can't wait to start this and hopefully she'll enjoy it as much as I will.

Boyfriend does my Mani. This will happen around probably mid-fall. I start to do more nail art during this time and my boyfriend and I like to see who can paint nail art better on the same theme. So once a week we will have a competition and he will be painting my cinderella hand while I paint the other. If you have any themes/suggestions please let us know! (:

@Glittr on Instagram is having a Classy Pink & Glittr Contest and the rules were to have glitter and her favorite color pink! This was my first entry.

Used a white base and added 3 coats of Plumeria by PolishedbyKPT. Topped it with Essie's Shine of the Times. Then drew hearts with my Splash hot pink polish. Here it is in mid transition.

Mentality Nail Polish Swatches + Review

I recently applied to become a swatcher for Mentality Nail Polish and they agreed to allow me to help them swatch! As you can imagine how excited I was I finally got the package in the mail (you could see from my Instagram posting) I quickly set to work on swatching!

Here is Rascal. It is part of the Mattes collection. Rascal is a black matte nail polish. There is a slight shimmer to it.

Can I just say that this is probably the best black nail polish I have ever used? This is just one coat of Rascal on my nails, I was so excited I totally forgot to put a base coat on my nails. The formula is literally perfect and it didn't dry too quick either so I was able to get such a good one coat on my nail.

*No flash was used and I do not own or have a home made light box. This is just me moving my hand around near my light to give you guys various lighting angles on this polish.

Here is Pilot. This is from the Matte Ombre Blue Series. Pilot is a light blue matte nail polish.

This is also one coat without a base coat on my nail. I thought it was opaque enough that it did not need another coat. This formula is the same as Rascal and it applied nicely.

Here is Jackie. It is from the Pastel Mattes collection. (Can anyone guess why I picked this one xD YES IT'S THE CLOSEST NAIL POLISH TO MY NAME! haha) Jackie is a pastel indigo blue nail polish.

The picture doesn't do it justice. It really looks silver to me in my photos. In person you can see the indigo blue hue. This was two coats because it was more sheer than Pilot was.

Even with the different angles I took the color is hard to capture which I greatly apologize. This really is a beautiful color though. (I will attempt to take more pictures when it is daytime, currently it's late for me.)

Here is Flirt. It is a soft red holo nail polish with red accent flecks.

This is two coats without a base coat. It looks so yummy to me. The formula went smoothly on without any streaking and it was not thick either. I really like this one a lot. (I'm a sucker for holos)

No matter what angle I took the photo at the color stayed remarkably the same.

My first Lavish Polish (: Peek A Boo

I got my first Lavish Polish from my awesome friend Annie (: She had gifted me Peek A Boo from Lavish Polish's Monsters Inc. line.

This polish is a soft purple jelly polish glitter bomb that contains fine purple glitter, small silver holographic hex glitter and large purple hex glitter. Below all pictures have 3 coats over a base.

Here you can see why I don't have such a great fondness for glitter. It literally is popping up. Reason is because my nails are really curved so any big glitters, like the purple hex, starts to pop up.

The purple is very very soft and jelly like. Reminds me of the squishy stress reliever things I've seen before. The glitters really stand out and mesmerize you, almost like they're twinkling.

This shot is mainly to showcase the glitters and how packed they are on my nail. Also you can see them popping up :(

This is to show you that it really popped up even the silver one by my cuticle is just screaming "let me go let me go!"

Overall for my first Lavish Polish and glitter bomb.. I loved it. The color was very good. Formula was not bad at all and you get so much glitter each coat. Usually I never am able to get glitter on my nail but this polish just proved me wrong. The only thing I didn't like is the bigger glitter because of my nails but to each their own right?

SEPHORA X DISNEY ARIEL COLLECTION PART 2

This is part 2 of the Sephora X - Ariel Collection mini polishes set.

This post will be on remaining 2 polishes. So let's get into it!

This is We Are In Luck. It is a creamy red polish. It reminds me of Ariel's hair really, they should've named this one Ariel instead of the glitter.

Both photos have two coats over a base. This polish is pretty opaque and you can get away with one coat. My nails are just so curved that I have to put to coats to make sure I get the edges (x.x) Also beware this polish does stain when you take it off. Not many people had this problem but I did.

This is Off The Hook. It is a grey shimmer with a purple tone. I actually really like this one a lot.

This was a very opaque color and I got away with one coat. Both photos is one coat over a base coat. I have to say the formula for this one is a very smooth application. Great coverage.

The next two colors are both glitter top coats which I have place over the above colors. (This was part of my last post as well but I'm mentioning them again because I did place them over We Are In Luck and Off The Hook.)

This is Life is the Bubbles. It has iridescent glitter as well as flakies.

I put one coat of Life is the Bubbles over We Are In Luck. These photos are taken indoors.

Here is the combo in the daytime indirect sunlight.

This is the combo in direct sunlight. All four daytime photos showcase the iridescent glitter and flakies of Life is the Bubbles. We Are In Luck also comes through and the combo does well together.

Next up the other glitter polish (: (Like I said above this one is also from my last post but because I used it as a glitter top coat I'm adding it here too for information.)

This is Ariel and it is an iridescent glitter top coat with a sheer turquoise base. My pictures don't do it justice. :(

Here is one coat of Ariel over Off the Hook. These two photos were taken indoors.

These two photos are in the daytime indirect sunlight.

These two photos are in direct sunlight. You can see the glitter very well.

Review of Splash: Neon Pink

This review is on another polish given to me by my awesome nail mail buddy Nathalie (: (Just one more after this one left to review!)

This is Splash in Neon Pink. Well to me it's Neon Pink. Unfortunately I was unable to obtain the color code or name seeing as there was no sticker on the bottle and I couldn't find it through Google :(

Here's Splash: Neon Pink. Two coats over a base coat and with a top coat. The formula is great. Color is opaque as well and you could get away with one coat. What I love the most? This polish dries as quickly as a Matte or Textured polish. That was a definite plus for me.

Here is the swatch in direct sunlight. It's absolutely gorgeous (: Pops out so much that I don't want to take it off!

This is of the same swatch with indirect sunlight. It pops out just as much and even has a deeper hue.

Overall I really do like this polish and I wished that there was more information on it! It's fast drying, formula is great: doesn't streak and isn't thick.
