Where’d you find that science hawaiian shirt because I’d legit own that
I posted like three shirts that fit that description but I'll just link them all. The trans-pride-colors science one is from NerdyKeppie (listing), first off.
The other two are from this highly dodgy Singaporean store* that I first discovered under the name Walaka but now they're going by AlohaSunrise and/or Bumbletee; here's the physics one and here's the chemistry one, plus another chemistry one I found after making the post that has a bit more of a neon-sign aesthetic, but if you put "chemistry" into the search box it brings up about ten more.
*I've spotted stolen art in their shirt pattern collages (almost bought a gay rainbow dragon shirt from them before the source of the gay dragon art was pointed out to me), and also they seem to be trying to market their shirts to the entire mainstream political spectrum at once, which makes browsing their full catalogue an off-putting experience since every once in a while you'll see a print that's just guns with American flags on them or somesuch.
Are zebra finches good birds to keep for someone who has little experience keeping birds?
YES. They’re totally different from parrots- all they need to be happy is company, room to fly around, and some stuff to do. You don’t have to socialize with them like you do parrots- zebra finches aren’t really human-oriented birds and are... not smart. This is a good introduction to their care! The bigger the cage, the better- those little pet store cages are no good. Get a nice big one- if I was keeping finches again, I think this or something like it is the cage I’d buy. When I was keeping them, I’d let them have free-flight time in; they seemed to really enjoy that.
❝ Whiskey is a breakfast staple, anyone who says otherwise is fucking lying. ❞ Inquistior/LI
Thank you for this! (for this prompt)
Features Brenna Lavellan/Solas
Brenna slumped into her seat at the head of the breakfasttable, face in her hands as she groaned. She had the most splitting headacheshe had ever experienced, and every noise around her felt like a blow to theskull. Why had she allowed Bull to convince her to get drunk last night? Shenever drank, she didn’t enjoy the taste of alcohol, she normally drank someform of juice disguised as wine at dinner as not to upset any Orlesian nobles. And yet, she had decided to let loose for a night, join her companions in thetavern.
“You not going to eat that, boss?” Bull’s booming voiceshook her from her thoughts as she glanced up to see him eyeing up herbreakfast.
She pushed it away, feeling her stomach turning, “You haveit.”
He took the plate from her, then slid a glass in herdirection. She frowned at it when she realised that it was clearly alcohol.
“It’ll make you feel better,” he insisted.
Blackwall nodded from the other side of him, “Hair of thedog, and all that.”
“But there’s no dog hair on it,” Cole said quietly, anamused smile on his face.
“Well, it can’t make me feel worse,” she shrugged, grabbingthe glass and knocking back the liquid in one gulp, coughing at the burningtaste, “Hair of the Dread Wolf is a more accurate description,” she said hoarsely.
“When you’ve got a hangover, whiskey is a breakfast staple, anyone who says otherwise is fucking lying,” Bull laughed as the Inquisitorstarted to drink a sizable goblet of water, “Now just get some food in you, andyou’ll be fine.”
She let out another groan at the thought of actually eatingsomething then stood, “I’m going to go and lie down for a while.”
She slipped away, returning to her quarters. She closed theshutters that the servants had opened, wanting the room as dark as possible. She stripped her clothing down to her tunic and leggings, lounging herself onthe bed. She let her eyes close for a few moments, not even noticing that shehad drifted off to sleep, and the next thing she knew; there was a voice on thestairs.
“Vhenan?”
She sat up a little, “Solas?”
She heard his soft chuckle as he continued his way up thestairs and into her quarters. He quirked an eyebrow at her when he saw hersprawled among her sheets, clearly feeling worse for wear.
“So this is where you are. You left breakfast four hoursago,” he pointed out.
“Four hours?” she scrambled to sit up properly, “Creators, Iwas meant to have a meeting with Josephine, and observe the soldiers, and sortout Dorian’s armour with Dagna, and-”
He smiled, coming to sit beside her, easing her back intobed, “Everything is fine. Rest.”
She flumped back into the pillows, “I feel like such achild.”
“Ah, da’len,” he cooed teasingly, then cupped her cheeksoftly, thumb running over the patterns of her vallaslin, “The world will notfall apart because you have a hangover.”
He climbed onto the bed beside her, drawing her into hisarms. She tucked perfectly into his side, head resting on his chest. He presseda few fingers to her forehead and she felt the familiar tingle of his magic. Her headache began to subside, as did the ache in her bones. She hummed intothe warm material of his jumper.
“Ma serannas, ma lath,” she murmured.
“Sleep, da’vhenan,” he smiled, stroking her dark hair alittle as he closed his eyes as well, “The world will wake us if it requiresour attention.”
He’s doing GREAT. He’s been eating super well and he’s gained a whole gram- he was a bit underweight when I picked him up, but I think we’ll get that taken care of in no time at all.
This might sound like such a stupid question but do snakes actually use their noses to smell at all? I mean, they have nostrils and all but are there any scent detectors there or is it all tongue?
No such thing as a stupid question! Yeah, there’s scent receptors up there! Tongue-flicking helps bring in more of the scent and lets them smell directionally- each of the tines of the tongue brings in the chemicals that make up an aroma and lets the snake know which direction the smell is in- it makes tracking down dinner a lot easier! But snakes aren’t flicking their tongues 100% of the time- scent cues they pick up with their nostrils are one of the things that can trigger the tongue-flicking behavior!
