Some of the prompts intrigue me but I just can't come up with anything spooky because it's cozy sweatshirt, pumpkin spice and candy corn... lol Maybe I'm too much in a fall vibe and not enough in a Halloween vibe? No, the work does NOT have to be horror-themed. If you want cozy fall vibes, then write them! Remember, this is as much as an “autumn” fest as it is a spooky one 😉
Plus, prompts are open to interpretation, so feel free to go wild! So long as your fill features a ship with less than 250 pairings on AO3, plus a prompt, it’s A-OK here!
Can we interpret the NPRS Fest prompts any way we want? Like say can we write something for "Tooth and Claw" as in teeth and claws are involved or does it have to be the whole "red in tooth and claw" concept?

So what is a rare pair?
While this varies from person to person to fandom to fandom, for the sake of clarity we will define them as follows:
All Naruto ships with less than 350 fics on AO3.
All poly ships qualify as rare.
CONTENT RULES
No adult/child content.
Age difference fics where they are both adults is fine.
Aging up characters via time travel or a same age AU is fine.
No parent/child or siblingcest.
Intraclan ships, like FugaMiko, ObiShisui, are also fine.
No explicit content with characters depicted as underage.

CONTENT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
For everyone: Sensitive content - either violent or sexual - should be cropped (art) or put under a cut (writing). Other than that, you can format your posts however you like.
For everyone: Tag all featured ships, characters and content warnings. If you don’t know the fandom tag for a ship, use “Character 1 / Character 2″.
For n.s.f.w. artists: To adhere to Tumblr Guidelines, crop your work and place the uncensored version of your piece in a link under a cut.
An example of how you can post explicit art is provided here.
For writers: All triggers, kinks, and gore must be tagged in the body of the post, so that warnings will be preserved across reblogs.

So the story behind this prompt has a more horror connotation—
TW. Blood, gore, ingested sharp objects, poison.
It’s an urban legend.
In the U.S., on October 31st, we celebrate Halloween, and on Halloween, many dress up in costumes and go beg the neighbors for candy. If they don’t get candy, the more mischievous may play a prank. (”Trick or “Treat”).
More twisted individuals decided to prank them back in a really brutal way. There were reported cases of pins and needles inserted into candy, in one case specifically a Snickers bar. Mod Kitty believes another confirmed case involved poisoning the candies.
As with many myths, rumors and stories spun out of control, up to the point where parents were bringing in their chocolates to the police station to have them x-rayed for—guess what? Razors, inserted into melted chocolate, reformed in a mold, and rewrapped.

Naturally, the truth of it is a bit disturbing, but as you said dear anon, you are free to interpret this however you’d like. Maybe Hidan goes to the police station to get all the razor candies, which don’t exist, and somehow ends up on a date with Officer Obito? Your choice!
So long as you remember to put warnings in the post, and sensitive content under the cut, you’re good to go!
Does the ship have to be the focus of the fic? For example, if I were to write a fic and there are ships in the fic but the focus is more on what's happening/the prompt rather than their relationship, will it count or no?
