March 9th.
One of the most precious days of his life. The day when his beloved was born. The day that he gave all his attention to the adorable brunette. The day he was all hers.
But he didn't know what to get the weapons mistress. The brunette already has a vast collection of all sorts of weapons. He didn't think something adorable would impress the tomboy. No matter how hard he wracked his brain, Neji couldn't figure out the perfect present. A frustrated sigh escaped him as he banged his head on the wall.
What am I going to do?
His head snapped up. He lived with someone who had a significant other, who's birthday had already passed. The prodigal Hyuga raced down the stairs and skidded to a stop in front of his cousin whose lavender eyes looked at him quizzically.
"Neji nii-san?"
"Hinata-sama," Neji started, slightly panting as a pastel blush graced his feature. "What did Naruto get you for your birthday?"
Neji nodded and motioned for her to go one.
"Well, he jumped on me in the morning before I could process what was going on," she started with a fond smile. "Then, he took me to Ichiraku's. After that, we went to the flower field and he picked out beautiful lilies for me."
"The same ones in your room?"
"Yeah. When the sun set, he took me out to see it over the ocean."
Hinata smiled fondly at the memory and looked at her cousin. "Why do you ask?"
Neji blushed and looked away, already heading for the door. "Nothing!"
The male dashed out and walked along the streets of Konoha. He sighed looking up at the sky, admiring the free birds gliding across the sky.
Should I get her a bird?
Neji stopped in front of the Yamanaka flower shop.
Maybe Ino can help.
Neji slightly pushed the door and entered the shop. Flowers of all different colors surrounded him, and his head spun at the possible combinations he could give to his girlfriend.
"Neji! It's a surprise to see you here!" a voice chirped from behind the counter.
The long haired male turned around and met the blue eyes of the blonde.
I can't believe I'm doing this.
"Hey Ino, can I ask you something?"
"You already did."
Neji rolled his eyes at the remark."What did Sai do for your birthday?"
Ino's eyes widened as a smile grew on her face. "Well, he woke me up with breakfast in bed, then showed me a painting of myself that he did, and then we had birthday sex!"
Neji sweatdropped and backed up a little. "Too much information, Ino."
The blonde just giggled then wore a smug smile with knowing eyes. "Why do ask hmm? Are you planning something for Tenten?"
"Uresai!" Neji screamed as a blush took over his face and he bolted out of the flower shop.
Dammit, should've made him buy something first.
When he was a safe distance away, Neji slowed down and continued walking around. He saw Shikamaru in the alley, and just when the Hyuga walked towards the Nara, he saw he was having an argument. With Temari.
Best to not ask them anything.
He quietly walked away, but not before hearing their conversation.
"Fuck you!"
"Fuck me yourself, coward!"
Neji sweatdropped and continued walking. The male saw a sliver of ruby red hair out of the corner of his eye.
Gaara?
He followed and it indeed was the Kazekage. And the Taiyokage. And the Tsukikage. And Kakashi.
"Gaara!"
The four of them turned around and faced the Hyuga. "Neji."
He took a deep breath before asking. "What did you get Katsumi for her birthday?"
Gaara's blushed as red as his hair and Katsumi smirked. "Himself."
Neji had a "tmi" expression and faced the Taiyokage and Kakashi. "Kakashi-Sensei, what did you get Ryoko-san."
"Something to burn!" Ryoko replied, a sweet smile on her face as Kakashi sweatdropped.
"Roses, I got her roses."
Neji nodded, a slightly horrified expression on his face as he continued on his search of the perfect present. He didn't dare go to Sakura. Sasuke still hadn't returned, and he didn't want to make matters worse. So, he went to the one person he never thought he had to. Rock Lee.
"Oi Lee!"
"Neji-kun! Let's spar!"
Neji just sighed and shook his head. "I need help. With Tenten.
"Lee looked surprised and lowered his raised fist. "What's wrong?"
"I don't know what to get her for her birthday."
Lee chuckled and held his friend's shoulder. "Just do something from the bottom of your heart. She'll love it. Trust me, if it's from you, she won't care what it is."
Neji smiled and nodded, and idea popping into his head.

The sky was filled with orange hues as the sun started to set.
Did he forget?
Tenten sighed as she opened the door and took a step outside. Her eyes looked down when she stepped on something metal.
A kunai?
Her eyes traveled farther down the path and saw a trail of kunai leading to a hill not too far from her. She started walking along it. Then running. She could make out the man's figure from a kilometer away. When she reached the top of the hill, she stopped to catch her breath. On her right was a giant cherry blossom tree, its petals scattering in the wind. Then, she saw him. He stood there with his back to her. Sensing a presence, the male turned around and Tenten stood face to face with those eyes. The beautiful lavender eyes she fell in love with. The eyes that held so much power and emotion. The eyes she trusted. His hair flowed behind him in the wind, and at that moment, the only word in Tenten's mind was beautiful. Neji stepped closer to the female, outstretching a hand. Behind him, Tenten saw a picnic blanket laid out with a basket on it. Tears brimmed to her eyes.
"Happy birthday, Tenten.”
