additional info:

-nauta’s lifespan is half the span of a siren's. his species lifespan is around 310 years. currently he’s 72 years old, roughly 18 in human years.

-height (including tail length): 8’4”

-nauta is common merfolk species, posessing more human traits compared to siren species and dwelling closer to the surface.

-despite being a surface water mermaid, he’s far more introverted and shy and prefers to observe from afar

-nauta has a habit of being tense and gloomy, always assuming the worst case scenario

-he’s very perceptive to others’ emotions and can read others easily

-he lacks confidence in himself and inherently believes that he’s doomed to always make the wrong decision or mess up everything he’s near. extremely afraid of mistakes, he often needs alaric to make decisions for him

joan do you have advice for reading more often 😭 I have all these books that I really do want to read but I don't finish anything and I always find myself going "oh I should read..!" And then not doing it and going to embroider or play guitar or something else instead.. also!! What is your setup for watching movies? I have kind of the same issue I can never really sit and focus for them I feel like it's such a big effort for me every time

hi nauta ^_^ um to be honest for me the only issue that causes me not to read (when i have energy to do so) is that damn phone so the issue is generally solved by putting my phone somewhere i can’t easily get it and then reading for a while 😭 i used to have a routine where i would go on my phone in bed at night and then read for like 20 minutes before turning the light off but ive kind of fallen off of that unfortunately… for movies frankly i let myself do something else at the same time. usually it’s doodling because that’s relatively mindless and i can still watch the movie at the same time but sometimes it’s like subway surfers or whatever 😭 i can’t fix my attention span manually but i can work around it.. idk if that helps but i hope it does!

going to update astrum and nauta! it's been a minute since i've done anything with either of them. i love how luminous crystal looks on veilspuns, so i am leaning that way, but a modern breed would be less expensive, and i could dress 'em up.
