If they have dysphoria, why don’t they just call themselves trans?
The same reason that trans women just be “feminine men”. Same reason you can’t be the opposite sex. You can’t force someone into a gender they’re not just because it fits your worldview.
The Buzzfeed video is an interview with the flag’s creator. You actually here her say those words. I don’t like Buzzfeed either, but what, do you think they held a gun to her head to make her say the quote? The woman’s words mean the same whether they’re from Buzzfeed as from Stormfront or CNN.
But anyways, here’s her saying it again, and it’s a different phrasing, so she’s said it at least twice and probably means it.
