TAKING A BREAK
I’m gonna be going on a little break from writing since I’ve currently been in writers block and I think I just need a breather. However, despite my break, I’m still open to any requests, which I’ll get to once I’m back.

Speculative Break: Doumeki and Yashiro in Singapore
I wish the inhabitants of our Saezuru world and fellow Saezurites a year marked by respect, solid emotional states, good health and responsible connection.
In this new solar year, I keep seeing Doumeki and Yashiro enjoying time a little bit away from home. I imagined them in a place like Singapore— slick, embedded in nature and just far away enough for Yashiro to explore who he could have been outside of the Yakuza fold. I can see D getting to enjoy watching Yashiro flex his charm without survival in mind and D not having to protect or be possessive of Y. Both of them could take a break from the pasts that forged them.
It’s just far enough, lush enough, enthralling enough to be a reset they could thrive from. Yashiro would probably complain a little about the humidity or make a droll, but fitting quip about the political situation there. Just to provide a lump in the leaven of the experience. We know Yashiro needs cracks in his happiness to test it for genuineness.
Maybe we discover that Doumeki has an fortified palate and a surprising love of truly peppery Indian food. I could see him convincing Yashiro to go to one of the island’s temples where D un-ironically prays for Yashiro’s well being. Y would study the temple carvings and Doumeki’s face when D’s eyes are closed in thought.
Maybe Yashiro drags D on a high priced shopping spree for Doumeki’s caveat of a movie afterwards. Time to reclaim awful memories right? Spoiler: Yashiro falls asleep on D’s shoulder again. Maybe Yashiro sets up a day at the zoo because he think D would enjoy it, but we find that Y finds it relaxing to be around animals in a natural adjacent setting. He learns (but doesn’t admit / doesn’t hide it either) that he finds certain animals endearing in their earnestness. While Y was ruminating, D alerts the staff to a little lost wallaby outside of his habitat.
Maybe we see them end up at a cool beach with permanent hammocks which they find by happy accident a few days before their return. Somehow, Doumeki produces swim trunks and sunscreen for both of them. Yashiro let’s him have the rouse as long as D gets them a double hammock.
I first thought about this Yashiro X Doumeki trip since Divali 2021 (Hindu New Year) . It feels fitting that these guys get a respite in a new place when they can have the space to get back to each other again.

so I have ultimately decided that from the 21st of this month I am taking Nii-chan! Nii-chan! on a hiatus, I don't know when I will be bringing it back cause I want to try and at least sort of out the chapters and get some written, but also... take a break from writing in general too. I have almost been working on it none stop for 3 years minus the few breaks I have taken. I need a break from it more then a month. So, It is not over, far from it, but this will let me spend more time making the chapters the best they can be with no expected updates. And There is no going fic replacing it in the schedule, so my new Schedule will be me posting the main fics on Mondays and Fridays. Easing up my work flow, I will be able to write more with the less stress.
But I will promise and try and get back to posting Nii-chan next year.
Current mood. I'll be submitting my final exam tomorrow night. Which means I'll have FOUR DAYS to do whatever I want! The whole quarantine thing kinda stopped my anxiety circle I had since months. I always woke up to the first thoughts of “you need to study! You need to work on the bachelor thesis! You need to find a job! Clean the flat and pets in between too!” Now I get those thoughts too, but right after that I remember the world is shutting down into save mode and everything is delayed. So I can finally just focus on myself and work this list from small tasks to the bigger ones and chill in between. Also I have a little cold too, so I have another excuse to not worry about not doing anything big. I started to take vitamin C, vitamin B12 and magnesium to stay fit (+ my regular vitamin D I have to take everyday because my body is dumb). So yeah, I kinda feel good. Yesterday I cleaned my balcony and planted seeds for flowers and herbs.
It's been a really needed moment of stillness, silence, and breath.
