Unfair Prices and uninformed judgements - Geekyromantic - E, 21 chapters - During the war, Hermione Granger turns Draco Malfoy to spy for the order. They grow close, fall in love, and the war is won. After, whilst Draco is debriefing with the Order and the Ministry, Hermione tells Ron and Harry about their relationship. Instead of the support she'd hoped for, they get furious with her and they orchestrate to lock her up in a mental institution. Under a fake name, without her wand, without her magic, with the doctors coerced through magic into locking her away. When she's found and returns home, there's one thing at the forefront of her mind, other than finally reuniting with her soul-mate, is revenge on Harry and Ron, but as time goes by and she starts rebuilding her life, perhaps healing is more complicated than being angry. Perhaps the best revenge is moving on.

I’ve seen the statement Izzy thinks about Stede more than Stede thinks about Izzy a couple times now, like it’s evidence of their like…natural investment and it’s weird to me because it’s really the most natural outcome of the situation they’re in.

In the early episodes Ed is interested in Stede and assigns tasks related to him, ‘go check out that grounded ship’, and asks Izzy questions about it later.

He again asks Izzy to go find Stede, and then asks questions about that encounter as well.

Izzy is beholden to Ed, Ed is interested in Stede, Stede is completely oblivious to this.

Then later Izzy is living on Stedes ship, surrounded by his crew, and his boss, who, while he’s employed is in control of his residence and decides his work goals and future plans is spending a bunch of time with him. Stede is a captain and he’s in the same place he’s always been with a few new people.

Ed tells Izzy he plans to kill Stede, and asks for his help, this is his employer deciding his future course of action, and it’s all based around the end goal of killing him, he’s given a project and that’s what he focuses on.

Then his employer (also close friend) has banished from Stede’s ship and is still spending time with Stede like—of course you’re going to think about the person your friend who you’re worried about is staying with while you’re away I mean—

There’s some heavy emotional investment involved in this, of course, it’s not all circumstance, but like a lot of it is.

It’s a lot harder to say reasonably that one character seeming more fixated on another character is like…a sign of one simmering in a one sided rivalry when the narrative has placed all of that characters focus on them through setting and another characters motivation.

Hi, I'm really frustrated about something. I'm a trans man and I've noticed when people perceive me as female or male they change their attitude about my aspergers. When I'm seen as female, it's cute and endearing. When I'm seen as rightfully male it's creepy and I'm a freak. I don't understand why I'm treated so differently! I am the exact same person and my traits are the exact same. Is there any way to deal with this or cope? It makes me very distressed.

I’m sorry that you have to deal with this. It’s awful the way that people treat men with aspergers. There are so many stereotypes about men with aspergers being predatory or creepy that people end up treating men with aspergers very badly. It’s even worse that you are treated worse when you are perceived as your correct gender. 

I don’t really have any good advice for you. This is a complicated issue that needs to be changed on the societal level. However, as far as coping with this, I would suggest surrounding yourself in autism positivity. Follow as many blogs as you can that post autism positivity (shameless self-plug, I post a lot of autism positivity on my personal blog @strangerdarkerbetter). Make sure that you see more positivity about yourself and others like you than the negativity you are forced to endure. 

Further, set aside time for self-care. Whether that’s engaging with a special interest, watching bad tv, hanging out with someone you care about, or anything else that makes you feel refreshed, make sure to give yourself time to take care of yourself so that you can recover from the negativity you endure.

Hey! I recognise this ask is going to sound so vague, so even if you can think of any similar fics, that would be super appreciated!

Im looking for a fic I read a while ago on ao3. It was a marriage law or marriage of convenience story. The Slytherins and Narcissa were on board, but Ron and Harry were not. At the wedding, H is marrying D out of love, but R/HP don’t see it that way. Ron interrupts the wedding, he’s all unreasonable and causes a scene, but H and D handle it really well and R ends up looking like an idiot. H and D get happily married. It was set in Hogwarts iirc, post-war.

I only know of one:
