mckirk + arraigned marriage + punk!bones & nerd!jim
I need to get my writing mojo going and kill some time!Send me a ship or a character, and a word (or an au) and I’ll write a 500-1000 word drabble for it.
“Let’s get this straight, darlin’, I only agreed to thislittle arrangement so my parents would stop bugging me.”
Is it wrong to get a thrill down your spine at the way acomplete stranger, who also happens to be your fiancé, drawls out an endearmenthe clearly doesn’t mean?
one day at school Nerd!Jim gets he glasses broken by some ass hole. Bones punched the guy in the face and then smiles a bit smugly because he has a reason to hold Jim's hand for the rest of the day.
PunkBones being in total love with a nerdy Jim, like his face god bright red and he stumbles all over the place and butterflies in his stomach and when Jim is meandering down the hallway with a pile of books that reach over his head and his having trouble carrying them as his glasses slip down his nose bones stumbles into him and presses him against the locker, he spikes on his jacket pressing into Jims sweater and bones kisses him bc holy fuck is Jim beautiful
If you ask Jim, he totally has never, ever, ever had a crush on that punk that hangs out with people that regularly steal his lunch money. But, if you look at him every time Bones is near him, you can definitely see a blush on his cheeks. It’s gotten so bad that, now, when he’s walking down a hall that he knows Bones will be in, he’ll try his hardest not to make eye contact. When he’s pushed up against the locker, at first he thinks that Bones might just be like the other punks and that he’s in for the ass kicking of a lifetime from the one guy in school that he’s gone head over heels for. But, he feels that kiss and suddenly he’s a blushy, nervous mess and Bones pulls away, his own cheeks all red. All Jim can blurt out, red faced and glasses crooked, is, “Oh my God.” And Bones worries that maybe he shouldn’t have done it, but then Jim says, “Oh my God" again and this gorgeous, bright smile just spreads across his lips. "Is that a good-" "You like me." And Bones just huffs, blushing more, hands resting on either side of Jim’s head, pressed up against the locker. "Don’t go tellin’ people, you big-" "You like me!" And Bones just kisses him again to shut him up. "Do all geniuses like to state the obvious, kid?" And Jim just lets out the cutest little giggle that Bones has ever heard, so he just has to kiss him again.
Okay, i need this more than anything ever like now. Okay, my friend gave me this idea, but Nerd!Jim with a really bad stutter, and people make fun of him all the time. He;s in the lunhc room trying to order his lunch but talkin to people is really nerve racking and he stutters a lot and people start laughing o he forgoes getting food even though hes starving and then Punk! BOnes brings him something to eat.
He repeated what he was going to say in his head over and over in line, mouthing the words steadily and without flaw each time a new person puts in their order, gets their food and leaves. Curly fries and a bottle of water. Curly fries and a bottle of water, curly fries and a bottle of water. Not that hard, pretty short and too the point. He can ace his AP calc exams he can fucking do this. Okay Kirk your turn you can do this!
“Cuu-uuuur-uuur-” The word got stuck in this throat, but the woman behind the glass waited patiently for him to finish. Jim stopped and took a deep breath before trying again. “Cur-ur-ur-uuuur-”
Some of the kids in line had started to snicker and whisper. The harder Jim tried the worse the stutter got and the harder it was to get the stupid word out. Finally one of the kids yelled at him to either spit it out or get out of line. The woman tried to stop him but the blond just slumped away from the window and went to sit at the corner table.
With a sigh Jim pulled out his history book and started to flip through it, hoping to distract himself from how hungry he was. There hadn’t been time for breakfast today and this was his only break of the day. He wouldn’t be able to eat until he got home and the very thought was making his stomach rumble. Jim let his head fall against the open text book, his glasses smashing up against his face. He swore into the pages and tugged at his hair unhappily until a large thud startled him into looking up.
Bones McCoy had just dropped his large black backpack onto the bench across from Jim. The punk slouched into a seat and shoved a basket of curly fries across the table to Jim.
“Maybe if you cuss like that, you could get your order out.” The older boy leaned against his hand and watched Jim from across the table, flicking his tongue across the lip piercing at the corner of his mouth.
Jim narrowed his eyes at Bones and then the curly fries.
“Why?” “Because you look hungry, kid. And just because the people behind you were being assholes doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get to eat.” Bones shrugged and nodded to the fries again. “So eat up.”
“Aren’t puuuu-uuuh-uunks supposed to be rude?”
“Aren’t nerds supposed to be eloquent?”
Jim snorted and took the fries. Bones wasn’t treating him like he was an idiot or unfortunate. It was a lot better than most people.
“Thanks.” “Don’t mention it.” Jim didn’t know that when he accepting the fries he’d be accepting a friendship too, but looking back, it was the best decision he ever made.
