Happy 19th Annual 2026 Project for Awesome!

P4A time is full of so many stories about people doing incredible work around the world to decrease worldsuck. Most recently, that has included me and my nerdfighter girlfriend, Amanda, as we started a non-profit at the beginning of this year to better our community for adults. To give them structure to more be a villager and build the village. I'm real proud and hoping you'll check out what we've created and how we're made a difference in our community, and if you really believe in it, you'll support us with a vote, comment, or a like and and sharing it far and wide!

I also hope you'll partake and contribute to P4A in some way that you see fit. Maybe I'll see some of you in all the spaces that surround P4A time! Message me and let me know!

I enjoy that I keep coming back to Tumblr in nerdfighter related ways to tell stories and share something.

Through the Nerdfighter community I’ve found the internet.

I’ve found a place where I can find people who think like me (which is quite uncommon in the real world). I’ve been transformed into an unafraid fangirl, a little less stuck-up and grumpy.

Hank and John Green have taught me to question norms, not wax my chin and in the community I’ve found fellow Nerdfighters who also put stuff on their heads.

With John’s books as a link in the between, I’ve found a great friend who’s given my world a whole new point of view.

(We went on our first date when TFiOS launched in Sweden)

Thanks to Hank, John and all the other Nerdfighters out there in the world I’ve found more hope in the world, and in humanity, than I ever thought possible.

Nerdfighteria has affected my life in a positive way by making me realize that there is absolutely nothing wrong with being a nerd, and partaking in nerd activities. In fact, thanks to John and Hank and Nerdfighteria, I am convinced that any other lifestyle is in no way as exciting.

I have become more confident in myself and in realizing that smart really is sexy, and the only reason my current boyfriend and I even started talking was because he quoted Looking For Alaska!! Thank you for making me infinitely more curious.

don’t even want to know what my life would be like without her or Nerdfighteria.

The Vlogbrothers have made my life so much better by teaching me it’s okay to be a nerd. Before I became a Nerdfighter, I was ashamed of talking only in Harry Potter references and now I will speak in Doctor Who references and feel no shame whatsoever.

John and Hank let me know that it’s okay to be smart and to read a lot and to like science. Being a Nerdfighter has also helped me become friends with the most incredible girl and I don’t even want to know what my life would be like without her or Nerdfighteria.

It Was In Fact, Her, Who Wrote The Note

The Nerdfighter community brought me and the love of my life together. A few months before we met even. When I bought my copy of Alaska, there was a Nerdfighter note in it which first introduced me to Nerdfighteria. I was hooked instantly and really enjoyed the community. My girlfriend and I went to the same school and she one day added me on facebook, I noticed her banner photo was of The Fault in Our Stars. I sent her a message and we got to talking and really hit it off. We bonded very hard over John's books and the fact that we're both Nerdfighters. We started dating and then roughly a year later, I posted a photo on instagram of my Nerdfighter note, which I kept, Thanking whoever made it for bringing us together. I was then bombarded by calls and texts from my girlfriend only to find out that, it was in fact her, who wrote the note. Nerdfighteria gave me the happiest days of my life with my favorite person and I am ever grateful to John, Hank, and the entire Nerdfighter community.

They're Only Small Things, But it Makes Me so Happy

John, Hank and Nerdfighteria have been responsible for me falling in love with reading again, they’ve taught me (a very non-sciency girl) so much about the universe, and they’ve made me smile for the past five years. And they helped connect me with the boy who could be the love of my life.

When we first met at 4am, in a completely different country to the one we're both from (and drunkenly rapped watsky together) we bonded and chatted over the fact that we were both Nerdfighters, and I knew then that I wanted this boy to be my best friend. Our first "date" then lead to us meeting up back in our own country (Ireland) and buying John Green books together. They're only small things, but it makes me so happy to know that we had the loveliness of the Nerdfighter community forming the basis of our relationship, and I won't forget that.
