The Golden Knight pt. 23 Crushing Reality

A/N: It’s been so long... I’m sorry for leaving you the way that I did before.  I shall be finishing this series I promise.

The group walked into the diner only to be greeted by Eve.  Ellie was unable to shake an overwhelming feeling.  

“Shit, Dean!”  Sam had turned around looking at Ellie and fired off a shot as quickly as he could.  

The round passed through the air where Ellie had been standing half a second before.  Sam had watched as the beautiful blonde had transformed into a towering hybrid monster.  Her form blurred and moved faster than he was prepared for, and her claws slammed him across the room into a nearby wall.

“SAM!!”  Dean shouted.  The new monster was nothing like he had ever seen before, and terror flashed across his face.  He didn't know if this was Ellie anymore.  He didn’t think she would hurt Sam.  He turned his gun on her and emptied his magazine into her chest.  

The monster straightened from over Sam.  Dean gaped as the large bullet holes for him .45 began to close into smaller cuts.

“Fuck!”  Dean shouted as she came over claws impaling into his side and hurling him over her shoulder.  He landed with a thud and was concerned that this would be the end of their lives.  The bystanders in the barn charged Ellie like a swarm, and Sam helped Dean to his feet.

“Let’s go!”  Sam urged him toward the door.

“No, Ellie,”  Dean protested weakly and was shoved out the door.

“You need stitches Dean,”  Sam said as they got into the impala, and Sam pulled out his phone to call Bobby.

“Hey, we have a problem.  Yeah,”  Sam said into the speaker as he tosses a towel to Dean.  “We’re on our way to you.  Get medical supplies ready, Dean’s hurt.”

“I’m pretty sure I told you that girl was trouble,”  Bobby said as he and Sam carried Dean into his house and started stitching him up.  “So what happened?”

“I’m not sure, we were on a hunt tracking Eve.  And when we got to the diner, Ellie turned into some kind of monster.  Kinda like a werewolf, but more dog, less wolf.  It was Like nothing I’ve ever seen before.  It was like she didn’t know who we were and was just controlled by blind rage.”

“How did you guys get out?”

“The onlookers at the diner, Eve’s minions attacked her.  I don’t think the mother of all monsters was expecting for Ellie to change.  She got out of their pretty fast too.  Dean’s gonna be pissed.  We left Ellie there. I’m not even sure if she is still alive.

“Make sure that dog gets put down,”  a man is speaking and Ellie’s eyes roll up into her head as she trying to become conscious.  Her body and her head are sore as if they have been crunched into an ill-fitting position.  “Jesus, look at all this blood.  Have it tested for rabies.”

Ellie snarled as she gained some more self-awareness and realized the man was talking about her.

“I’m not some animal for you to collar and schlep off!”  She barks.  But that’s when she realizes that she was actually barking.  She looked down at herself to see she was a dog again and slumped to the floor exhausted and surrounded by all the bodies of the onlookers from when she and the boys had entered the diner.
