I want to start a blog ....
day 319 : this sweaty smile brought to you by going through some ISH that puts you in hell, and then feeling like you’re OWNING this comeback. . my physical therapist had a student today. at the end of my session, she told me that when i walked in, she thought i was a PT too, not a patient. WHAT?! . i am so incredibly grateful for my life and how i feel right now. i would have never imagined that a #spinalcordinjury would help me transform the way i think and feel to this degree. we are all powerful magic and sometimes it takes a really bad thing to happen to make us 👏🏽 wake up 👏🏽 from the monotony and dissatisfaction with our situations. . i sometimes hate that our standard greeting for those we encounter is “hi how are you.” especially since most of the time the question is asked without remotely caring what the answer is, and the answer is mostly given as a pre-populated response. i try to be as genuine as i can, and recently my answer has been falling somewhere around “i’m so freaking fantastic.” . i’ve noticed that people that give a REAL response, especially if it’s unconventionally happy/grateful/smiley, have had some 💩 put on them and they are genuinely happy because they’ve taken the time to not be so oblivious at the little things that make life wonderful and worth making every second the best second you could possibly have. even if you’re still fighting a fight. i like talking to those people. stories are important. . life is too short. wake up. be you. be the best version of you with whatever 💩 is on your plate. . . . #newoutlook #scirecovery #whatparalysis #incompleteparaplegic #paraplegiclife #paralysissucks #notalldisabilitiesarevisible #bekind #peopleareimportant #physicaltherapy #thecomebackstory #thecomebackisstrongerthanthesetback #liveyourbestlife #wellness
Regenerate like a rose for 2018
Here is a blog I wrote on January 1, 2018. ( a wonderfully procrastinated start to the new year, don’t you think?) I am on a journey to use my skills to achieve my dreams. The journey starts here with this first blog.
Happy new year! I hope you flourish.
~~~~~~
I think 2017 was a year of extremes for me. I was either extremely sad, angry, depressed, happy, excited, or grateful. I saw beautiful things, and I learned about real horrors. I felt a dichotomy in my heart and mind as I went back and forth on issues across a whole spectrum of life topics.
I forced myself to cut out all the negativity that weighed on my soul. But I also decided that I was finally going to give myself personal credit for my ability to continue to adapt, learn, and progress despite all the adversity and confusion. I decided that I was going to embrace my skills of regeneration.
I bought a plant about a month ago, and from my care of the plant I realized that it can teach lessons for life. The most impressive ones: regrowth, perseverance, and resilience.
When one prunes a rose plant, or bush, the ideal way to do so is by cutting off all the leaves and branches down to the thickest and healthiest canes, or stems. Every leaf, every small branch, every dead piece of wood, even every old piece of wood is not necessary to keep, and may even be detrimental to the plant if left on.
All must be snipped off.
Even if any of the main canes/stems look diseased, or just unhappy, it must be cut off, too. And all the waste must be discarded far away from the rose plant as not to ever come in contact with it again.
In the end, the rose plant is left looking like a pathetic, bald plant in denial of its impending death. Indeed, the pruner may even get a little nervous that they have cut off too much, and will never see a bloom again.
Yet, what is so amazing is the that rose plant bounces back immediately. In fact, she is now stimulated and has the energy to grow back even healthier, and quickly. Surely, if you take good care of her, she may regrow incredibly soon and give a bloom more beautiful than the last.
The rose plant teaches us to positively use the painful and ugly shedding, breaking, and cutting away of all the parts that are no longer needed, or that are unhealthy for our well-being. From the wounds will come new sprouts of vibrancy. Although you grow new parts, you will still have the same roots you always have.
Peace. Love. Macramé.
Crystal Intuitions Friday and Weekend Card Reading Four of Swords, Six of Cups, Death and Frequency Shift You may still be vibing from the Sun/Jupiter conjunction but as we move through to New Beginnings it will be a quieter time of introspection and reflection. You may be dealing with memories from the past either from connection to a person, issues with your own childhood or actual children themselves. Remember we all are moving through this Frequency Shift and this is generally not easy for anyone, so if you do have children be mindful of this as well. Reflecting on past relationships that have enriched your life as well as the painful ones, if you have unfinished business from the past it is now the time to put it aside and to welcome fulfilment or true exchange of love in your life. Venus trine Moon occurs towards the end of the weekend which is good for expressing your feelings to those that are close to you or to take that chance you have been waiting for. Old friends may resurface and seek you out, all reunions will be joyful (Yay!). Take the time to enjoy the simple pleasures in life and remember what it was like to play as a child without all the fears, self-doubt and illusions you carry as an adult. Some may feel a bit sad or wanting to disconnect from others as they take stock of their life and that’s perfectly fine, meditating and quieting the mind will assist in this transition and remember it doesn’t last forever! The Death card (also connected to Scorpio) is actually fantastic and further confirmation that you are ready for the next stage in your life. Getting rid of the old to make way for the new, closure from the past and gaining a new outlook on life. So enjoy the simple life, rest, recover and recuperate (this energy shifting is tiring business!), play like a child and have fun! Sending you all much love and light! -Kat ❤️✨xx #Tarot #Friday #Weekend #contemplate #past #meditate #simplepleasures #life #transformation #frequencyshift #itwillpass #belikeachild #newoutlook #loveandlight
Hey guys!
I haven't been very active this week because it's been my birthday week! I'm now officially 20! So I've decided I'm going to stop counting calories and I'm going to just eat clean and eat as much as I feel I need. I'm thinking four small meals a day 😊 I hope this new way of eating will make me feel less like I'm missing out and happier because I'm satisfied. I'm just kinda sick of obsessing over calories, just think this new way will be better for my mental health. Love you guys!
Ready and waiting 🤞🏼
