holy shit this is the second post I make about stuff from my AU and I still don't have a name for it (update: now I do, it's "Anatomical Carved Smiles") nor finished writing it's structure. maybe I'll never finish it and will just keep dropping it bit by bit until I either get a job or find no breath left for my corpse to grasp. Also, this has lgbtq+ headcanons so, bigots, perish
My AU centers around Rosswood Park and the fictional city of Lakeview, middle of Alabama, which I MADE UP because Marble Hornets never mentions where Rosswood is located. I also didn't want to have a real setting so I wouldn't have to keep searching for real districts, areas and such, it would be a unnecessary pain in the ass siNCE I DON'T EVEN LIVE IN THE US IN THE FIRST PLACE AND I OWE NO RESPECT TO IT
The "Candy Caravan" (introduced in last post; consists of Candy Pop, Jason The Toymaker, Papa Grande, LJ, etc.) travels around the world for shows quite a lot but mostly stays where their theme park is located: the northwestern border of Rosswood Park. With that, they have a lot of contact with Slenderman's proxies of that area. Nathan The Nobody is friends with them because he dates one of the members, Ciara. Stripes and the Scarecrow Girl are also a part of it because I thought it would be cool, man.
Speaking of Nathan, he is a killer-killer in my AU (much like Dexter, for example) protected by the spirit of his deceased sister, Crystal. However, he has no idea about what the Candy Caravan gets up to, even his girlfriend Ciara and bestie Candy Pop
The Scarecrow Girl has received the name "Crowley" in this AU and, as mentioned, she is part of the circus crew "Candy Caravan". She is a creation of Zalgo, which are called "spawns". They function the same as zalgoids (children of Zalgo, meant to spread the corruption and create more demons; explained in last post). Considers Stripes as a sister and is also dating Korbyn The Seer, which lives with Sadie and Roadwalker in an apartment on Southwind (another fictional city yay).
Jason is an anti-capitalist at heart and doesn't realize it. Mostly because he hates the whole attention the caravan gets from brands that want to profit off them while he REFUSES to have HIS toys mass-produced and sold around the world. It NEEDS to be made by him and his hands only. They're like art pieces to him and the collectors that try to sell them (which pisses him off as well). There are toy-lines of the caravan's crew not made by him though, much to Jason's disdain - at least they're not trying to replicate his creations. If he was in charge instead of Pop, boy would've rejected any commercial deal like that. Also, not related, but he is an aroace icon.
Rosswood is home to the main proxies of my AU: Ticci Toby, Clockwork, Hoodie, The Chaser, Cat Hunter, Lexi Kills, Rouge and X-Virus. They mainly live in their outpost, which is a shared cabin in the middle of the forest, but will sometimes stay at motels or abandoned places. There are other proxies in this universe, notable ones being Alex (Marble Hornets), Weeping Forest, Killing Kate, Echoes and Trainwreck (two of my ocs which I did not develop yet!!) but I won't be focusing on them since they're in other areas around the US/Canada
Someone is missing in that proxy list. Yes, Tim Wright ("Masky") is a proxy in this AU, but he doesn't know it. After the events of Marble Hornets, he moved to Southwind (same city Korbyn lives), close but far away enough from Rosswood, trying to escape from Slenderman and his masked persona. Life seemed normal, he was still taking his pills, had a stable job, made a few friends. However, little did he know he never really threw away the mask. He was completely unaware of the times his other side would take over – the same one which was against the tall man before, only to be following him nowadays. When he wakes up however, it all seems normal again
He has contact with the proxies in Rosswood, including Brian ("Hoodie"). However, he is not really in his own headspace to process that information and so doesn't react. Brian seems to care and be a little mad about it but also doesn't react much, as he was dead before becoming a proxy and Slenderman's process of resurrection can kill a big portion of what that person was like while alive. That also applies to Alex, but he is in a different outpost. They had to be separated, as Brian's rage against him was somehow still very much present
Toby and Natalie are and aren't in a relationship. It's a friends with benefits situation that can get romantic sometimes but doesn’t extend much beyond simple interactions such as flirting, cuddling and gifting. Mostly, they're friends. Friends who fuck sometimes and are very dear to each other, to sum it up. They will hook up with other people occasionally, either separately or together
Cat Hunter keeps bringing stray cats to the outpost like there's no tomorrow. He is not even like, catching them or anything, they just follow him into the woods and become pets of the house for some time before going back to the city. The proxies are one step away from becoming like those old ladies who have at minimum 15 cats. Slenderman doesn’t even bother. At least there is company to Loki, Cat Hunter's actual pet cat
Kagekao is an interesting visitor of the area. He usually just shows up uninvited, steals some stuff and drops the most unhinged cryptic shit, whether in japanese or english, that no one understands before dipping off. Nobody knows where he is coming from, he just appears conveniently. Occasionally will stop somewhere to share a few sips of wine with the proxies or the Candy crew
Slenderman and Zalgo have their own little dimensions they control. Slenderman has the Ark (based on the Marble Hornets comic) and Zalgo has Behind the Wall. To become either a proxy or a demon, respectively, you have to go through one of these dimensions, either by being snatched (only Slenderman), dying while under the entitys' influences or killed by the hand of someone influenced by them. The last one overrides whatever effect the other had on the victim (example: if a proxy kills a person being corrupted by Zalgo before they become a demon, they will be sent to the Ark). If you come back to the real world, there will be no memory of either place.
Splendorman and Trenderman are not Slenderman's brothers in this AU, but rather spawns of Zalgo made to annoy him. Splendorman was created as the exact opposite of the Slenderman, while Trenderman was based of the fact he looks like a mannequin. They are very well appreciated by the proxies with enough humor left in them

Jeff fucking DESPISED Jane at school. She didn't even do nothing to him besides being friends with his bullies, specially Randy (even if she didn't know what he'd get up to). He hated her perfect little life with chill parents and a nice wealthy home. As he is a very rancorous person, he did not let that go and made that his main reason for trying to kill her. Mary was not targeted for the sole reason she was travelling with her family when the massacre happened.
Prior to the incident, Jane worked as a private investigator. She would look into simple personal things usually, like petty thievery between family or extramarital affairs. She had ties to the police and could get many important information thanks to her father, an officer. She learned to fight and defend herself very well with him and her mother, a physiotherapist and self-defense instructor
Eyeless Jack and Ani The Wight had a romantic relationship before EJ accepted the fact he was gay. They kept on being good friends after that though. They met at Rosswood and eventually parted ways when Ani set EJ up to start protecting Lazari from Slenderman (note: long story, won't explain now)
Dr. Smiley is to blame, indirectly, for EJ's transformation into whatever he is now. He was the one who collected the "substance" (Zalgo's corruption) that altered Jack's body and mind. Nick Vanill works for him and steals things for Smiley's hidden not-legal-at-all medical office and laboratory
As explained in last post, "Jack" in his name has more of a general meaning like in "Jack the Ripper". His actual name is Daniel, but doesn't mind being called Jack as the nickname "Eyeless Jack" stuck with him. He tells very little people about his real name. When he told Lazari specifically, she found it funny and said "Daniel" doesn't fit him at all (note: "Why Daniel though?" It originated in an old inside joke between me and myself. It's not even funny. I'll skip explaining that one)
