Prince Prompto, the First of His Name, He Who Brings the Sunshine, Rider of Glorious Chocobos:   Honestly.. I can’t see Prom being anyone else but Prom.  I mean I’m assuming in this AU he’s not MT, he’s had a more stable home-life, etc.  But can he still be our Prom-Prom? I think so.  Perhaps he has more regal mannerisms and he knows which silverware gets used for what at the fancy dinners, but he’s sneaking down to the arcades and trying to draft legislation to make chocobos the official state mascot.

Royal Advisor Gladiolus, Chamberlain to the Prince, Foremost Tactician of Gralea: Dude has his head stuck in a book all the time. Oh wait, that’s basically canon.  Well I mean… seriously.  Gladio was just an education track away from being an advisor??  He’s so fucking smart he could do the job, if he hadn’t been so focused on his blood destiny of being Shield.  So this isn’t really a big stretch to me.   And I won’t lie (in vino veritas? even though I’m drinking cider?): Gladio with the accent?  Panty-dropper.  *bows*

Shield Ignis, Bodyguard to the Prince, Hereditary Soldier of Awesomeness: Ignis was raised from the cradle with the knowledge that his heart beat for one purpose: to give him the strength to protect the prince with everything that he is, with no hesitation, until his dying breath.   That doesn’t mean he cannot look his best, nor does it stop him from making eyes at the aloof Royal Advisor…

Noctis, a simple citizen of no importance, who meets our prince at school: He’s basically still him but so much… lighter?  He’s unburdened by duty. He isn’t chosen. He isn’t heir to a kingdom. He’s just… Noct.   Happy, fishing, gaming, napping.  He does his best to support his best friend Prompto who feels the weight of that crown that will someday sit on his golden haired head.  But really overall, while a bit lonely at times, Noct is just a really happy young man who is thrilled that he crossed paths with Prompto - not because he’s royal, but because they just get each other.

When the Moon Breaks Through || Niff

Nick stirred as the sun peaked over the window sill, already starting to flood the room with rich warm light. He hummed happily and moved to cuddle closer to his lover, knowing the pups would be up soon and taking the moment to enjoy the other's warmth and scent. Right when he had gotten comfortable an unbearable pain flared up in stomach, forcing him to gasp for air. "Fuck" he cursed, withering for a moment in pain as it spread across his body in seconds and the wolf could feel his skin starting to warm. Day had just broken so there was no reason why the full moon should already be effecting him like this. 

His yellow eyes quickly glanced at Jeff and everything made sense. He had never been in the presence of an alpha during the full moon...well..not wake up next to them at least. Nick gritted his teeth as another wave of pain ran through his body. 'Bathroom. Need to get away from the scent.' He pulled himself off the body, trying as hard as he could not to wake the other, and limped to the bathroom. A warm bath would soothe his pain and hopefully hide his musky breeding smell. He knew the smell would drive Jeff crazy if he smelt it..but they had to hold off onto mating until the moon was high in the sky...and the pups were being watching over. 

"Fucking fuck." He cursed again, quickly turning on the water and basically falling into the tub, clothes and all. Nick couldn't control anything right now. His claws were coming and going just as quickly as his heart was pounding in his chest. An ache ran all the way through his body and with every move his stomach clenched in pain. Face was flushed red from the heat and sweat dripped down his neck. He tried being quiet, but he could already hear Jeff stirring. Already knew the other would be in here soon so he let out a loud growl of pain.

#36: "Being a dad means sneaking a camera phone into the delivery room."

"I don’t know if I can do this… I don’t think we’re ready yet… Do you think we’re ready? I’m not sure. Do you think we bought enough clothes?" Jeff rambled on and on nervously, tightening his grip on Nick’s arm with every word. After nine months of planning and preparing, their surrogate was finally about to give birth to their baby. This would be their second child together; letting their 3 year old son finally get his wish for a younger sibling. They had adopted him when he was only a few days old, and he was their whole world. Nick and Jeff both loved everything about being parents, especially together. But this was the first time that they had gotten a surrogate and the first time they would actually see the birth. And Jeff was freaking out.

"Mh hm… I think we did. Almost two closets full of baby clothes, I think we’re good." Nick nodded, trying to keep up with Jeff. He was trying to be supportive, but at the same time Nick’s focus was on something else: his phone. He was trying to keep it hidden in the pocket of his hoodie to take pictures while everything was going on. The sign posted on the window of the delivery room they were entering clearly said ‘no photography’. Nick easily ignored it. He wanted to remember every moment of their little baby’s birth, even if that special, give-the-mother-all-the-privacy-she-needs hospital didn’t allow it.

"Do you think we chose the right names? What if it ends up being a boy and he doesn’t like the spelling?" Jeff continued rambling in Nick’s ear, keeping his voice low and his eyes on the doctor and nurses as they set everything up. "I never thought about that before…."

Nick finally got his phone situated like he wanted it, glancing down to make sure the image was clear. He chuckled a little, hearing only the last bit of what Jeff had said.

"Jeff, sweetie, I’m sure whatever gender our baby turns out to be that they’ll love their name." Nick placed a soft kiss on Jeff’s cheek, attempting to calm his nerves a little, then gave their surrogate a thumbs up with his free hand. She didn’t return it.

Jeff took a deep breath, relaxing slightly, and nodded. He also looked at their surrogate, giving her a reassuring smile which she didn’t return either. Both the boys didn’t say much as they watched the doctors in horror. They both turned slightly pale.

"Nick… If I pass out, don’t let me fall." Jeff held onto Nick’s arm, leaning on him slightly. Nick nodded, making a disgusted face before turning his attention to the hidden phone. Maybe if he just watched through the small screen he wouldn’t vomit.

"Isn’t the birthing process a beautiful thing?" The doctor said cheerful to to Nick and Jeff as he did his job.

Both of them shook their heads when he turned the other way.

After a long hour of fighting the feeling of fainting, they finally got to hear their new baby for the first time. Their grins were wider than ever when the doctor announced that it was a little girl. Jeff hugged Nick, kissing the corner of his mouth, while Nick tried his best to take as many pictures as possible without dropping his phone or letting it be seen. Once she was cleaned up and swaddled in a blanket, their new daughter was handed carefully over to Jeff. 

"Welcome to the world, Coraline Elizabeth." Jeff said to the baby softly, smiling down at her and holding her so both him and Nick could see.

Nick almost instantly teared up, keeping a wide grin on his face. "She's so pretty." He smiled at Jeff then at Coraline also. "Our little Cora." 

Nick couldn't help but to get more pictures, so he took his phone out, not really caring anymore, and took lots of pictures of Jeff and the baby. That is until a nurse tapped on his shoulder. 

"Sir, no photography in here please." The nurse sounded quite serious, but Nick, who was still grinning and teary eyed, took a picture of the nurse instead of listening. The nurse rolled her eyes, apparently used to overly excited fathers. 

Nick then continued to take pictures, sending them all to the other Warblers and posting them on instagram.

Niff Prompt, submitted by my AMAZING follower dcsmfahtastetherainbow! : Nick watches a scary movie and calls Jeff because he can't sleep.

Nick and Jeff had finally settled down in their new apartment in New York city. Along with getting comfortable in the city and living together, they had gained a few traditions. One of them was movie night every other Friday.

This Friday night they had both decided on a horror movie. The two boys lounged on the couch, cuddled close to each other under a light blanket. Nick looked up at Jeff as the movie started, seeing his eyes glued to the screen with enthusiasm. When they had decided on a horror movie, that basically meant that Jeff had brought home a new dvd and Nick agreed to watch it without even knowing what it was. Nick wasn't exactly as excited about the movie as Jeff was. He was never really fond of scary movies, especially the scary parts.

Nick looked from Jeff to the television screen. He wasn't very proud of his idea to glace at the movie, for when he did the first murder of the film took place, making goosebumps form up and down Nick's arms. Not wanting to be a buzz kill and ruin Jeff's excitement, he mentally decided that he would just go ahead to sleep. At least this way Jeff wouldn't think he was a wimp.

"Jeffy, I think I'm gonna go ahead and go to sleep." Nick looked up at Jeff, faking a yawn. "I have a class tomorrow morning anyways."

"Awe, okay babe." Jeff took his eyes off the television for a moment to kiss Nick's cheek gently. "Sweet dreams."

Placing a kiss back on Jeff's cheek, Nick slid out of his grasp and made his way to the bedroom, faking another yawn on the way. He climbed into bed and snuggled up under the blanket before reluctantly turning the lamp light off. It was quiet as Nick laid there, the only sound coming from the subtle noise of the city outside his window and the muffled, creepy music coming from the television. He closed his eyes tightly, forcing himself not to think of anything, but of course that was short lived. The scene he had witnessed earlier never escaped Nick's mind. He opened his eyes slowly and leaned over slightly to look over the bed. A slight chill took over him as his mind wandered and strengthened his paranoia. Nick didn't want to admit it, but he was really freaked out now and wanted nothing more than for Jeff to cuddle up in the bed next to him, making all the bad thought go away. The only problem was, Nick was a little too terrified to even get up himself. 

Nick laid there a few more moments, his eyes wide, before reaching for his phone on the night stand. He knew this was silly, but he really wanted Jeff there and this was the only way he was going to get him. He squinted at the bright screen on his phone and quickly sent a text to Jeff: I miss my teddy bear ;) <3

Jeff slowly looked away from the film when he heard his phone vibrate and picked it up, chuckling softly at the message. He let out a small sigh and cut the television off before quietly going to the bedroom. He left the light off and slid into bed next to Nick, wrapping his arms around him from behind. "Better?" 

Nick flinched slightly as he felt the arms around him, then quickly relaxed and smiled knowing it was Jeff. He turned around in his arms and smiled at Jeff. "Much." Nick snuggled against Jeff's chest, moving his own arms around Jeff's waist. "I didn't stop you from watching your movie, did I?"

"Nah, that movie was getting boring anyways." Jeff replied and kissed the top of Nick's head softly. "It wasn't to scary of you, was it?"

"Scary? For me? Psh." Nick shook his head almost in disbelief, hoping his actual fear towards the film wasn't that obvious.

"Just making sure." Jeff chuckled quietly, rubbing Nick's back gently.

Nick let out a small sigh and looked up at Jeff. "Alright, maybe it was a little...creepy."

Jeff smiled at Nick and kissed his forehead. "Well, I'm here now. So, no need to be worried about that silly movie. Maybe next movie night we can watch a Disney movie instead?"

"That sounds wonderful." Nick smiled back at Jeff.

They eventually both fell asleep cuddled next to each other, neither remembering a single scene from the movie.

Niff Prompt, submitted by Anon: Nick is self conscious and won't change around Jeff or doing anything involving his body to be shown & Jeff comforts him.

Sports were never really a huge deal a Dalton, but since it was an all male school there were plenty of athletic programs available. Only one locker room was needed and there was no problem with all of the boys sharing it. After soccer practice, Jeff showered, changed, and went about normal business as everyone else. Everyone but Nick. It struck Jeff’s curiosity, wondering where Nick was , knowing he should be joining the rest of the athletes after baseball practice.

But Nick had his reasons. He had always been a bit self conscious about his appearance. No one seemed to see him as unattractive, but in Nick’s mind, that’s because they’ve never had the chance to see that side of him. Or at least the side he thought himself wasn't ideal, and he wasn’t going to give them the chance. For the past season, Nick had found a way to leave practice, change, and go back to his dorm before anyone else had even entered the locker room. It would kill the rest of Nick’s self esteem if anyone happened to walk in on not fully clothed. Especially if that person was Jeff.

As usual, as soon as practice ended, Nick made his way to the locker room. Jeff had decided to skip his own practice that day and happened to catch a glimpse of Nick. A smile grew on his face as he saw his best friend, as well as curiosity that built up inside of him. He didn’t want to seem to nosy, but Jeff couldn’t help himself. He followed after Nick and entered the locker room, glancing around until he spotted the other boy.

“Hey, Nic-” Jeff’s bright smile faded slightly to a worried look whenever he saw his friend standing there like he had just seen a ghost. But instead of being pale, Nick’s face was bright red as he held the wadded up shirt he had already taken off to cover his chest. “Nicky… What’s wrong?”

Nick’s eyes stayed wide when he heard the worried sound in Jeff’s voice. “Um… Nothing, nothing’s wrong.” He shook his head quickly, holding the shirt tightly. “I’ve gotta go.”

Nick didn’t even try to hold back his blush and rushed to get out of the door. He was soon stopped when Jeff grabbed his arm, not too forcefully, but enough to stop him.

“Nick, please tell me what’s wrong. I’m your best friend, you can tell me anything.” Jeff’s words were sincere as he looked at his friend with pleading eyes. He was legitimately concerned now. Why had Nick been leaving early like this? Why was he acting this way now?

Nick sighed softly and looked up a little at Jeff. “I’m sorry, Jeff… I just.” He bit his lip lightly, hoping Jeff wouldn’t think of him odd. “I guess I’m just scared of what people will think…. What they’ll think of me.” He gestured towards his own body, wishing more than anything that Jeff would understand.

“Oh, Nicky…” Jeff said softly and a little sadly. It hurt him to think that Nick didn’t see himself the way Jeff saw him, or even the way everyone else truly saw him. “You don’t have to worry about that. Nick, you’re handsome. You’re more handsome than most of the guys here.” He gave Nick a small smile. “Well, to me, you are the most handsome guy here. And you don’t have to be scared.”

Nick teared up slightly, not taking his eyes off of Jeff. “Do…do you really mean that?”

“Of course I do.” Jeff moved his hand to wipe a stray tear from Nick’s cheek. “I promise. Even if you don’t see it right now, you’re amazing, Nick. Everything about you. Come here.” He carefully pulled Nick into his embrace.

Nick shuddered slightly before hugging Jeff back tightly. As Jeff’s hand rubbed Nick’s back gently, Nick calmed down. Having Jeff here, having him understand helped Nick more than anything could.

“Thank you.” Nick said quietly, holding onto Jeff.

“You don’t have to thank me. I’ll always be here for you. I promise.” Jeff replied, placing a small kiss on the side of Nick’s head.

Neither of them noticed when the shirt Nick was grasping fell onto the ground between them.

Niff Prompt, submitted by Anon: Nick and Jeff go on Jeff's family vacation and they get their own room.

Giggling filled the room as the two boys burst through the door. They were both still wearing their swim trunks, hair dripping with water, and on a sugar high from the ice cream they had just finished. As their giggles continued about a joke they had already forgotten, Jeff gave Nick a wide grin, then tackle him onto the bed playfully.

“Umph… I’m really glad your parents agreed to let us have our own room.” Nick said between his laughter, grinning back at Jeff just as widely.

“Me too. I’m actually pretty surprised they let us.” Jeff’s smile softened as he laid against Nick’s chest. Honestly, he was surprised that his father had let Nick come along on their family vacation in the first place.

“I guess they figured if they didn't, they would have to hear you giggle all night. Then no one would get any sleep.” Nick teased and smiled back at Jeff.

“Hey, I don’t giggle tha-” Jeff tried to continue his protest, but instead flooded the room with another fit of giggles when Nick turned them both over and tickled Jeff. “Nooo…! Nicky..!”

Their laughter eventually died down when Nick granted Jeff’s request and stopped tickling him, but the smiles on their faces stayed. “That’s not the reason, at all.” Jeff rolled his eyes at Nick and pushed his shoulder gently. “I’m kind of glad they don’t know about us. My dad would never have even considered this if they did.” Jeff’s voiced lowered, and Nick leaned back against the head board slightly, sliding his arm around his waist when Jeff cuddled up to his side.

“We’ll have to tell them eventually, you know. I plan on going on many more family vacations with you.” Nick said softly, the smile never leaving his face as he placed a small kiss on the side of Jeff’s head. The two hadn't been dating very long and hadn't told anyone yet. Though most everyone assumed it even before they were officially together.

“So, you’re having a good time?” Jeff asked and smiled up at Nick, letting his hand rest on Nick’s chest.

“Of course I am! Though… I don’t think your dad likes me very much.” Nick replied at first with a smile, it then fading slightly to a more questioning look.

“He does like you, Nicky.” His smile and a soft kiss on the cheek reassuring Nick. “I promise. You’re the kindest, sweetest, most courteous, and best friend I've ever had and my dad knows that. He just has a different way of showing it.”

“You’re the best boyfriend in the world.” Nick leaned down slightly to kiss Jeff’s lips gently. Hearing that from Jeff made him feel a little more relieved, but he knew that whatever Jeff said would. He always knew how to make Nick feel better, just like Nick knew how to cheer up Jeff.

They stayed cuddled up with each other for what seemed like hours, smiling like love struck fools at each other despite their damp clothes and parental guidance which was just on the other side of the wall.
