The Ninja Batman Movies

FUCKING AMAZING I spent most of both gasping and cackling in equal measure. Yakuza league is the stronger of the 2, action and plot wise, but I'd highly recommend both if your looking for a duology to binge.

I'm gonna go over my favorite bits and reviews below so spoilers ahead but please please PLEASE watch these two. They are some of the funniest/badass films you'll watch and I can't think of another superhero movie that's commited to the bit THIS HARD recently, you'll enjoy them I promise.

BATMAN NINJA -

Just some unfiltered reactions first:

So Bruce is always a nepo baby huh? Immediately gets dropped in feudal Japan but have no fear, he's a fated hero and gets a Legion of ninjas and bats at his disposal. Icon

Holy fuck did he run through those vehicles "we took good care of the batmobile" soz Alfred they got scrapped in five minutes flat. Also listing the batmobile, batplane and batcycle one after the other verbally? Snyder could never.

Outfits ... WHAT HAPPENED TO MY BABIES HAIR why is Damien BALD, why does Bruce have a monk's hairline?! And Jason MY BOY LOOK AT WHAT THEY DID TO MY BOY, I thought he was scarecrow at first ngl. The disrespect.

Just let Jason shoot Joker, as a treat, please. PLEASE

WHERE THE FUCK DID PENGUIN GET ACTUAL PENGUINS IN FEUDAL JAPAN

SO. MANY. GUNDAMS. GOOD GODS

A JOKER GUNDAM, THEN 5 ROGUE GUNDAMS, A MEGA VILLIAN GUNDAM A M O N K E Y GUNDAM AND FINALLY A MONKEY-BAT COMBO GUNDAM what the actual fuck

Over all an amazing movie to watch, the animation is beautiful and multiple styles are used, all immaculate. The Joker-harley farmer era was really the standout.

I did watch this dubbed so the lipsync was off but that's on me, I do think that this would've been better as a tv show, fleshing out each rogue's rise and the movie's plot happening in the later half of the season but that's just me.

As far as plot .. okay, it's thin. This movie is carried by its bombastic-isity and its art, it is constantly hitting you with a frying pan so you don't question ANYTHING. It's a movie I will rewatch purely to watch the fascinated horror on my friends' faces as they see A FUCKING MONKEY GUNDUM GET BLOWTORCHED (I am not over the gundams)

Now THIS is an amazing movie, I'm gonna list some more streams of consciousness before I get into why tho:

Harley saw slightly less moral Wonderwoman and FOLDED and girl SAME I CAN'T BLAME YOU

Love that they made Wonderwoman an ally cos they knew damn well there isn't a contingency for her that doesn't sacrifice a couple of cities first.

Ra's isn't a nonce in this, THANK FUCK I LOVE ECOTERRORIST RA'S

On that, Talia knowing this was dumb is iconic, and Ra's being a middle Eastern man who decided to be a Weeb and set his future in Japan so he can be a sushi snob is also iconic. Dumping Damian in California rolls is also also iconic.

WHY IS THERE A VOLTRON EDIT?!

DIANA WHY ARE YOU A CITYPOP GIRLIE, HARLEY WAS PISSING HERSELF. I WAS PISSING MYSELF, DID THE ENTIRE WRITER'S ROOM DROP ACID

You can tell decking Superman is a passion not a hobby for bruce, this isn't a job its a ~calling~

Overall this is a MUCH stronger film than Batman ninja, it's a shame that you can't really watch it first to get hooked on the world then watch the prequel, but that might be a good thing. The writers have found a balance between substance and zanyness, it's not a tearjerker, but it's just a spectacle to watch, and means you end the duology on a high note.

The animation is even better, I did watch this one subbed so idk how dubbed would effect the experience but overall it's an amazing film, ten out of ten.

If you didn't heed the spoiler warnings PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go watch them, I'm not even lying when I say I didn't even include half of the shit that'll make your jaw drop in these lists, they are batshit (pun intended) movies and you'll have an amazing time watching them.
