FLUFF-uary Day 10: Reassurance

Fandom: Final Fantasy XIV Relationship: Wawlika/Nitowikwe Warnings: Spoilers for Dawntrail Happens around the same time as this

Nitowikwe wraps her arms around herself against the night's chill, walking across the familiar stretch of land between the station and the Springs. She'd tossed and turned for hours, disturbing Wawlika with her own restlessness, before she'd finally decided to get some fresh air - she'd left her man dozing, and headed out to take one last look at their train before...

Well. Before she's got to do what she's got to do.

She'd startled poor Shenza half to death; they're all jumpy these days, with those eerie ships hovering overhead and who-knows-what lurking behind the dome looming on the horizon. The young engineer looked like he hadn't gotten any sleep tonight, either. They'd talked for a time, speculating about ways they might improve on their next locomotive... and then she'd headed back for home, leaving Shenza with a pat on his shoulder and a gentle urge to go on home and get some sleep, himself.

But there's a lantern sitting on the steps of the railway office... and so is Wawlika, looking blearily unsurprised to see her.

He lifts a hand in greeting. "Woke to find you gone," he explains. "I had a feeling I knew where you were."

"Getting the jitters out," she says, taking a seat on the step beside him and leaning into his warmth. "It's a big day tomorrow."

He winds an arm around her shoulders, offering a small rumble of acknowledgment in response. Nitowikwe rests her head on his shoulder, letting her eyes slide closed - she could doze off here, if she forgets all her worries for a moment or two...

"I just keep thinking..."

Wawlika's voice rouses her from her half-doze. She blinks, lifting her head.

He's still gazing into the distance, thoughtful. "I keep thinking, if something goes... wrong tomorrow, if something terrible happens-"

"Which it won't," she cuts in, indignant.

"But if it does," he forges on. "This was all my idea, turning our train into an explosive battering ram. If it all goes awry, it's my own damn fault."

She sits back up, frowning. "Now see here, old man, it's the best plan any of us had. We've had all these great minds at work turning our train into the best damn battering ram she can be, and not one of 'em came up with a better plan in the meantime!"

Wawlika almost smiles. Almost. His whiskers twitch. "We're a little pinched for time. If we had more of it, we might've come up with something better."

"Well, we don't." She bumps her knee gently against his. "We're short on time, and desperate, to boot. Wawlika, it might've been your idea, but I jumped to take you up on it, didn't I?"

He chuckles wryly, a low rumble in his chest. "You did. And I let you."

"You couldn't very well have stopped me."

"Knew that, too. I said so, didn't I?"

"You did. So we're in this together." Nitowikwe leans back over, resting her head on his shoulder again, safe and warm. "And we've put our all into it, right? All of us? You, me, the boys, even Vow Wuk Lamat and the army she brought us. What could go wrong?"

He squeezes her a little tighter. "You want the list? It's been running through my head all night."

Laughing, she slaps his thigh. "Hush, you! It'll go off without a hitch, we'll set of fireworks like Shaaloani's never seen, and then Vow Wuk Lamat'll head into that dome and get everything back on track. And all we'll have to worry about is building a new train. You'll see."

"I hope so," he says quietly, resting his cheek against the top of her head. "I sure hope so."

we won't know for a small while yet but i'm holding out to the hope that the new custom deliveries will have at least the smallest amount of new hrothgar/xbr'aal lore (coping) (delusional)

90 and Under Crafting Macro

Pre warning:

This is my lazy macro for collectibles for custom deliveries. I am not a teamcraft member. I AM A WHOLE ASS omni crafter who struggles to even make Archeo Kingdom gear. (I did craft my own GNB weapon tho that was amazing)

Feel free to MODIFY or suggest how to improve. PLEASE NOTE: You'll need to be level 100 for these to work on level 90 items. It'll work on most stuff but modify at will because your level will depend on how easy/hard or extra or less steps.

(Note: I don't have a custom icon on mine because my UI/UX keeps resetting on me and i just figured i'd do an easy one.)
