Anon??? It’s too late to be cryin’ 😭
Just imagine tho, waking up in the middle of the night because Mammon is standing over your bed crying. You can hear the little sniffles and feel a couple tears land on your face before you sit up, “Mammon? What’s wrong?”
still a little out of it you pat the bed beside you and he sits down.
Slowly without saying a word, Mammon wraps his arms around you, shifting so he can bury his face in your neck. Feeling your warm skin, taking in deep breaths of your sent and simply soaking in the fact you’re here and alive.
He only pulls away when he’s sure your alright and you’ve dozed off again, this time warm and safe in Mammon’s arms, placing one soft kiss to your temple before laying you down properly and cuddling close. “It’s nothing human…..sweet dreams.” the words ‘I was worried about you’ stuck in his throat-

"C'mon luci let's go play", a childish wish from a younger brother craving the attention of his caretaker, his grip oh so tight almost removing the circulation from the eldest arm causing pain tho not a lot. "Not now Mammon" the elder spoke trying to pry him off, "I am busy a little later alright?" The child just whines. "But luci...! Non of our other brothers wanna play, plus you always focus on your work!! Just play with me please luci" he looks like he'd cry if not give the attention, the elder tries all with his might eventually givimg in. His brother refused to let up, forcing him to be unable to do anything but allow the young angel to have his way.
"Alright I'll....play with you.."

"Lucifer?" Mammon slowly walked into the avatar of pride's room, a sheepish look upon his face. "I was thinking maybe just us to can spend time together? I mean your always focused on your work and I the GREAT Mammon think you should take a break at least for today ya?" Oh the annoyance Lucifer felt, how dare the destructive brother inturpt his work. He had very important papers and couldn't turn them away, they are very much more important than whatever money making scheme Mammon was thinking of making into some silly game. "No Mammon I'm not in the mood, my work is very much important as of current which must be done as soon as possible" he responds glaring at the tanned male. "But Lucifer I really think you need a break. Take some time to play a game with me your little brother?" "NO mammon. If you do not have anything of importance to tell me then leave." Oh how Lucifer will come to regret those words. "....fine" the former angel of charity leaves the scene, saddened his older brother rather kiss up to 'Diavolo than spend time with him. Bah like he cares.

"Mammy read that book to me again, the one about the prince and the Knight" a blond haired spawnling spoke, hands holding up his favorite children's book up to his older brother/mother figure. He was no older than a 6yo in human terms, a young impressionable 6yo at that high hopes high potential high... wrath. Oh sweet baby he was. 'Mammy' just smiled at his youngest sibling, strong tanned arms bringing the child into the elders chest kissing his head followed by a friendly laugh which radiated through the whole of HOL. "Of course I'll read to Ya tan tan!" The avatar grins oh how his heart fluttered and swelled, never could Mammon ever say no to Satan. "Do you want to read in your room or the library?" No answer was truly needed, 'Mammy' already knew. "library library!"
.

A frustrated Satan searched everywhere far and wide for his missing book. Where was it? Who could have took it? It could not have been some low life demon! Of course not this was HIS private library after all only he, his brothers, Diavolo + Barbados, and in few RARE occasions the exchange students could enter! Who in the world could have taken his book...Who would dare have the audaci- "MAMMON!!" Shifting quickly into his demon form the 4th brother avatar of wrath would go looking for the 2nd born with an undying force a desire to eliminate the thieving scumbag. He spots Beel, Levi, and Asmo all hanging out playing one of Levi's video games. Rare. "What's got your panties in a twist?" Questions Asmo raising his brow.. "let me guess the scumbag stole from You?" Levi huffed "yeah he stole from me to! I can't find my limited edition ruru-chan fighters game anywhere! Ugh!" "And my perfume and nail set" the 2 OBNOXIOUS siblings spoke both seething with hate. Beel just stayed quiet. "Have any of you seen Mammon at least!?" Everyone shrugged where was mammon no one knows. Annoyed, Satan retracts his demon form to instead visit Lucifer, man's pulling a snitch like Levi does. It's not like he cares about what happens to mammon.

He should have cared. Satan should have cared. He didn't care when he saw Lucifer whipping his brother, he didn't care when Mammon cried saying it wasn't him that took everyone's stuff. No..He didn't care when he saw Mammon's dull eyes looking straight at him while a smile plastered the elders face a really really fake smile. He should have cared he knew he should have cared. Yet he didn't. HE DIDN'T. He let it happen...He.. He let the man that raised him for centuries ever since he was just a little spawnling suffer..while He watched, while he participated, while he accuse, called him names, shamed, and emotionally as well as mentally abused him. What kind of brother was He? The blond avatar can only feel wrath seething, could only feel the wrath threatening to lash out at anyone or anything that dare DARE inturpt his search.
Where was He?
Where was Mammon?
Where was the man that used to read him books every night?
Where was the brother that used to sing to him while everyone argued and fought?
Where was his knight?
Where was the brother that promised to always be there for him?
He needed him
He needed his Mammy
Why wasn't Mammy coming to his aide?
"MAMMON!" He cries out continuing his search.

The demon wheezed and coughs, he failed his attempt, he's been lying here by himself stuck in the human realm for what..4 days now? Great.....just perfect...he thought he could do it much easier here yet...ugghhh whatever he'll..he'll try again. After all
Who could ever care for the great scumbag mammon

What has he done...he drove him away... he was trying to protect him from a fate worse than death, yet in the prideful Damon's efforts to protect drove him away. Fuck this was just like Lilth over again. It's been 5 days, they searched everywhere in Devildom by now and now were searching in the human realm. He felt the bond, the spukd bond no longer as faint as before...They were close....They were close they were going to find him. Once they do Lucifer plans to spoil Mammon rotten. Play as many games as Mammon wanted, bake with him, visit all the famous casinos, May be even gamble a little only a little! He was going to...he had to he needed..
Wait
The soul bonded was acting up like fucking crazy, he was close Lucifer is do undeniable close he'll find Mammon soon he will he knows! Following the little hot cold game the soul played he ended up finding a certain white haired demon who looked so disorimtated so awful. " Mammon!" He calls moving t grab him only to watch his hands go through him. "Wha-" no no it can't be..he was,no.."Mammon, Mammon!!"

They were to late..they were way to late. Their brother mammon? Dead gone faded into nothing. when they heard the news everyone's worlds broke into a billion peices.
Beel couldn't bring himself to eat for weeks.
Belphie struggled with sleep constantly waking from nightmare upon nightmare.
Asmo shut down, a response no one could read for not a single person can tell how this plagued him.
Levi left his room often yes but constantly sulked, he never dare talk about or mention ruru-chan or anything related instead walking in and out of Mammon's too, on occasion to take his stuff hoping just hoping his brother would return.
Satan's wrath was off the hooks, when he heard the news he sulked for days upon days, he went through the stages of grief desperately looking through each and everyone of his spells to return the big brother/mother he had lost. When that didn't work he lashed out constantly, he lashed out at Lucifer accusing him blaming him to the mess saying 'he never cared' because he never saw a single tear in the those raven haired eyes. He moves onto the other brothers before moving onto himself, the boy broke. He read the story about the knight and prince as well as the other countless amounts of books his mammy used to read to him hopesnthst he'll return. He never did.
He never did. Lucifer...Lucifer Oh how he failed his little brother, some nights he prayed to their father with hopes of the return of his brother, null. How the once prideful avatars pride faded quickly at the mention of his favorite, he never truly did accept his death. Couldn't bring himself to. Lucifer oh lovely lovely Lucifer 'the failure first born' forever plagued by the last conversation he shared with little mammom before his death.
"Lucifer?" Mammon slowly walked into the avatar of pride's room, a sheepish look upon his face. "I was thinking maybe just us to can spend time together? I mean your always focused on your work and I the GREAT Mammon think you should take a break at least for today ya?" Oh the annoyance Lucifer felt, how dare the destructive brother inturpt his work.(work he shouldn't have payed attention to) He had very important papers and couldn't turn them away(why not turn them away this one time?) they are very much more important than whatever money making scheme Mammon was thinking of making into some silly game.(why didn't you play?)"No Mammon I'm not in the mood, my work is very much important as of current which must be done as soon as possible"(take a break Luci...) he responds glaring at the tanned male. "But Lucifer I really think you need a break. Take some time to play a game with me your little brother?" "NO mammon. If you do not have anything of importance to tell me then leave."(please come back to me...) Oh how Lucifer will come to regret those words. "....fine" the former angel of charity leaves the scene(I shouldn't have let him...).
A/N:this genuinely took a while like LITTERALLY lol. I stayed up late thinking and gathering inspiration cuz I only really write upon impulse and this was one of them. Anyway I'm happy it's done and hope people like it :) sorry if it's too depressing/to long or if there's grammar issues I stayed up writing like for days lol.
Plot: Mc leaving and randomly coming back, but ends up leaving all together
————————————————————
I am not the only traveler
Who has not repaid his debt
I've been searching for a trail to follow again
Satan never knew where you went. One day you just left. He never saw a trace of you again…until one day
I've been searching for a trail to follow again
Take me back to the night we met
You came back like nothing had happened, like you didn’t just leave them heartbroken, missing you.
And then I can tell myself
What the hell I'm supposed to do
And then I can tell myself
Not to ride along with you
Where did you go?
Did we do something to make you leave?
Please don’t leave me…
I had all and then most of you
Some and now none of you
Oh take me back to the night we met
Satan hopes it was just some short break, sometimes you just needed a break away from all of them. He had prepared gifts for you, flowers and candies and books he thought you’d love. To show how much he loves you
I don't know what I'm supposed to do
Haunted by the ghost of you
Oh, take me back to the night we met
You had called him a fool
Told him he was a demon, he would never really care for you. He felt his heart shatter after you left he stared at the letter he was going to give you, a poem saying how much he adored you, that night he burned it.
When the night was full of terrors
And your eyes were filled with tears
When you had not touched me yet
Oh, take me back to the night we met
That morning you were gone again, just like the first time no note or warning, just gone.
I had all and then most of you
Some and now none of you
Take me back to the night we met
The brothers all ate in silence that day wondering where they went so wrong that you would leave them, they never saw you after that day, they never knew where you had gone, and Satan never brought himself to love anyone again, telling himself it was a foolish decision, all because of you.
He's never been able to truly communicate with his brothers, something he despises about himself. He wants to— but there's a problem of not knowing how. A millennium of knowing his little brothers and he still struggles with being truthful around them.
But while he has trouble using his words, he can show how much he cares through his actions (with a little bit of convincing himself).
His first instinct is to cross the room and give them a hug; putting their head over his shoulder so he can't see their tears.
Each drop that falls on him makes his heart break a little more.
He doesn't have the confidence to try and comfort them any more than that, and he wishes he wasn't such a coward.
MAMMON
He's always surprised when he sees his brother crying, no matter how many times he sees it. And every time, he can never shake the feeling of helplessness when he does.
He never really knows what they want him to do when they're crying, so he puts himself in their shoes and asks what's wrong.
He'll listen intently if they say yes, and he'll try to help in any way he can.
If they don't want to talk about it, he'll give them a hug as he pets their hair. He doesn't bother to ask— he knows they'll just say no, even if they actually do want one.
LEVIATHAN
He's ashamed of it— but his first instinct is to run and leave. He just doesn't know what to do in these types of situations, and he thinks he'd make it worse.
But as much as he says otherwise, he would want some kind of comfort if he was crying alone— so he gathers his courage and stumbles into the room and asks what's wrong.
Whether they talk about it or not, he'll try to give some advice on the situation or tell them what makes him feel better whenever he's sad— though admittedly, his advice is never the best, it's the thought that their socially awkward brother who usually runs away from talking to anybody is making the effort to help them is what makes the whole (slightly awkward) ordeal better.
SATAN
Somehow, he's even more awkward than Levi when finds them. He's almost always alone when he starts crying, and he prefers it that way. Even so, there are times he would've liked some comfort despite not searching for it with anyone else.
So he does what he does best— he reads (aloud in this case). There's no concrete way to help someone when they're crying; some would rather be left alone, some would want a hug, and some would want a distraction. Even then, it can depend on the reason why the person is crying.
But if he knows his brothers (and he does, more than he lets on), they'd all want the presence of a loved one.
ASMODEUS
He loves his brothers, even if he has a rather... strange way of showing it. And no matter who it is, he always takes the very expensive handkerchief he brings everywhere and gives it to them.
He talks about his day as they clean themselves up; what he's thinking of buying, the newest fashion trends, the latest gossip— anything that might help distract them.
Once they've fully calmed down, he gently asks if they want to talk.
Whatever they respond with, he'll force [<- affectionate] them to have a self-care day. He doesn't give the best advice, but he knows how to make someone feel better.
BEELZEBUB
He just stands there and stares at them for a while, mulling over what he should do. While he admires all of his brothers (including the ones he finds weird), when it comes to comforting; he usually looks to Mammon as an example.
If he has any extra food— which he usually does, he tries to give some to them. He'll quietly wait for them to finish eating; he doesn't want to eat himself in case it makes them think he doesn't care as much as he should. If they refuse, he still puts it on their bedside table in case they get hungry afterwards.
From there, it goes the same way Mammon does. If they say talk, he'll listen carefully and gives his two cents. He's blunt and honest, even if what he says hurts sometimes. But at the end, they know he's only trying to help.
If they don't want to talk, he gives them a hug. It's their little brother so they won't refuse, and he's always warm.
But eventually, he gets hungry. And the both of them go out to eat afterwards.
BELPHEGOR
If Satan and Levi are awkward, Belphie is downright uncomfortable (unless it's Beel). He's never been great at comforting other people, he's not very empathetic; and whenever he cries, he usually sleeps it off.
But while he doesn't know his brothers well, Satan has told him that they'd all appreciate the presence of another brother. And he supposes that rational. He's never liked being alone when he's upset.
He knows that there's not much he could do even if he asked about it, so he walks over and sits next to them. He'll ask if they want to sleep it off.
If they agree, he'll get them to sleep easier using his magic. If they don't, he'll just sleep on their shoulder. He doesn't know what else he can do to help.

“The celestial realm just hasn’t been the same without you there.” Luke sighed sadly, taking another slow sip of his tea. “The other cherubs in training have been being jerks, and Michael has just started making me run errands for him...and I don’t really feel like I have anyone to talk to except Raphael.”
Simeon nodded empathically, relating to the feeling of loneliness since his fall. “I’m sorry to hear that. I didn’t think my lack of presence would make that much of a difference.”
Luke furrowed his brow. “Why wouldn’t it? We were brothers- and you were, like, the second closest person to Michael other than father!”
Simeon shrugged, finally taking another gulp of tea. “I just thought everyone just sort of...moved on? Especially given their reactions to my judgement.”
Luke cocked his head. “I mean, everyone was so upset...I don’t understand what you mean.”
“Upset?” Simeon blinked, trying to understand Luke’s perspective. Perhaps he could see it that way, but remembering back to how the other angels screamed insults at him and hurled stones as he was dragged to the edge of the celestial realm...to him it seemed more like hatred. “I suppose many individuals were, yes...but I suppose what I saw was more like they no longer wanted anything to do with me.”
Luke blinked a few times before nodding. “I mean, I guess that’s half true...But most of what I hear people talking about isn’t you- it’s Lucifer and Diavolo...and mostly Mc.”
Simeon’s ears perked up at her name. “Mc..? Why her?”
“Well...” Luke’s facial expression turned into a scowl. “They’ve been saying it’s her fault that you fell, and that she somehow corrupted you...And they think that her connection with the demons is proof of that. Some people have said that they don’t want anything to do with humans at all any more...They’ve also called her some upsetting names, and some have said she’s a demon in disguise.”
“Oh...” Simeon’s shoulders slumped, his frown deepening at the realization that his actions had not only impacted the Celestial Realm’s relationship with the Devildom, but the Celestial Realm’s impression of humans all together and their impression of an human only 3 of angels had even met.
“...But I don’t believe all that.” Luke took a large bite of a popover, a proud smile decorating his face as he chewed.
Simeon looked up to him, watching quietly as Luke swallowed and brushed the crumbs off his pajamas.
“There’s no way Mc is all the things they say about her.” He continued. “She’s so kind and caring and innocent. And the proof of that is she’s able to tolerate all these rowdy demons and still show them kindness.”
A weak smile pulled its way up on Simeon’s lips. “I definitely agree with you there. Sometimes I wonder if she’s too kind for her own good.”
Luke giggled. “Yeah, sometimes I think that too. She sometimes seems like more of an angel than either of us-”
Simeon’s eyes softened as Luke immediately snapped is mouth shut after the words left his lips. He saw the somber look on his face as he dropped his gaze away from Simeon.
“Oh--I mean...more of an angel than...I am...”
Simeon set his tea cup down, taking a deep breath. “I really am sorry, Luke.” Simeon paused, watching the small angel rub the tears from his eyes. “I wish things could have been different, and I know this whole thing is...complicated, to say the least...But I really am sorry for hurting you the way I did.”
Luke stayed silent, not looking at Simeon at all. He merely sipped his tea with slightly shaking hands, trying to hold back tears.
Simeon’s chest burned at the sight. He felt terrible for making Luke feel this way; for leaving him all alone again in the Celestial Realm. After Luke’s creation, it was expected that a mentor take him under their wing...the problem with that was that every mentor who had taken Luke on had passed him off to someone else, claiming that he was too emotional to be a guardian to humans, too hyperactive and restless to be on guard duty, not strong enough to be a soldier... Angels who were apprentices like Luke bullied him relentlessly, and it was as if he didn’t have a single friend in the world- that is, until the council reviewed his problems and determined he was either going to be moved to a lower position in another area of the celestial realm, or to be taken under one of the council’s wings. Simeon was the only council member to chime in, finding it almost cruel that no one would give the small angel a chance. He was young, but had so much potential. Just because he wasn’t robotically compliant and physically fit didn’t mean he was useless.
Over time, Simeon grew to view Luke as almost like a son to him. Michael even took somewhat of a liking to him too, but Simeon figured the reason was Luke fed into his egocentric nature. Whatever the reason, Simeon brought out Luke’s true potential, and enjoyed his company in the process. But after his fall, he assumed the other’s treatment of Luke worsened, since he wasn’t at his side to defend or guide him, and also since his mentor had become so corrupted, he assumed that the other angels were worried he would follow suit...
He didn’t mean to ruin Luke’s life.
“...Anyways...” Luke breathed out after awhile, having managed to control his emotions. “I was super mad at Michael for sending me back here at first.”
Simeon blinked, jerking back out of his thoughts. “Oh..?”
Luke nodded. “I didn’t want to come back. I didn’t want to see you, or the other demons for that matter...” He paused, tapping the side of his cup with his index finger. “But...I’m glad I did.”
Simeon’s posture straightened. “What changed your mind?”
“Well, I...” Luke paused. He chewed his lip, as if he was trying to decide what to say next. “Michael never has time to bake with me, so I forgot how much fun baking with Mc and Barbatos is. Plus, the class work here is really interesting, and definitely beats than running tons of errands for the council. And even though the brothers tease me, they always make a point to include me in stuff. Plus, it’s fun having Beel as a taste-tester for new recipes- No one wants to hang out with me while I experiment with new ingredients! And speaking of that, The devildom has so many interesting foods...I still have so many things I want to try out in my recipes!”
Simeon smiled as Luke listed off all the things he liked about the Devildom. If he wasn’t so infatuated with Michael and didn’t have such a strict adherence to the rules of the Celestial Realm, Luke probably would have understood Simeon’s fall better.
“And...” Luke finally paused on his list, dropping his eyes downcast. “...even though I was mad at you, and I was confused and hurt and didn’t want to see you...I did miss you a lot.”
Simeon’s eyes softened. “I missed you too, Luke.”
Luke glanced up at him, finally able to recognize the demon before him. Simeon’s attitude had been much more sarcastic, cutting, and out of character. Hearing his voice take on the same softness and compassion made Luke’s heart swell with happiness.
He’s still Simeon.
They chatted for hours, time seeming to pass endlessly as they caught up on everything they’d missed from each other, and anything they could even think to talk about. Eventually, the conversation shifted back to Mc, and Luke’s concerns over Michael’s directions to him.
“He asked me to keep an eye on her and report back to him on what she’s doing...” Luke sighed, resting his cheek in his palm. “Why though?”
Simeon shook his head, trying to press back the anger he felt at information Luke had provided to him. “I think Michael is having a hard time letting this go. Like the other angels you talked about who said it’s her fault I fell- I think he agrees.”
Luke puffed the air out of his cheeks in exasperation. “But it’s not though!”
“I know, but they seem to think that I’m incapable of making my own choices.” Simeon shook his head. “This is why I didn’t repent. I was tired of decisions being made for me. I wanted to have my own life, not the life they told me I needed to have.”
Luke nodded sadly, finally understanding what Simeon meant by wanting to be free.
Simeon sighed. “I don’t expect you to agree with my decision, but I wanted you to know where I’m coming from. And Mc’s existence may have impacted that decision, but that doesn’t mean it’s her fault.”
Luke nodded. “Besides, they’ve never even met her! If they did, they’d see for themselves that she’s not a threat to the angels!”
“A threat?” Simeon's eyes widened. His mind drifting back to the dream he had earlier that evening, and anxiousness began rising in his stomach. “What do you mean? Has Michael said he views her as a threat!?”
Luke was taken aback by Simeon’s sudden display of panic. “Uh...well, not directly to me...But I’ve heard him talking to the council about it before. That’s why I was so surprised that he agreed to let angels come back here. The decision seemed to be out of left field.”
Simeon felt his heart beat quicken. “Luke...why did Michael send Raphael with you?”
“He said that Raphael would be able to protect me if...” He trailed off, face growing pale.
Simeon stood quickly, his chair thrown back to the floor as he rushed to the other side of the table. He gripped Luke by the shoulders tightly, shaking him gently. “What?? Protect you if what?!”
Luke swallowed, his eyes wide with fear. “...P-protect me if his plan went south.”
“What plan!?” Simeon was nearly shouting, terrified to think that his prophetic power remained despite losing his status as an angel.
Look shook his head, now crying. “I-I don’t know! But since he told me to watch over Mc...”
Simeon loosened his grip on the angel before he was able to finish speaking, quickly running to the room assigned to the other angel. He silently begged for his dream to be only that- and nearly prayed that his gut feeling about Michael’s plan to bring some sort of harm to Mc after learning information from Luke was wrong.
Luke scrambled from his chair, following closely behind. Without knocking, Simeon burst through Raphael’s bedroom door, only to be met with what looked like a room that was untouched. Raphael was no where to be seen, and nor were any of his belongings. Luke gripped Simeon’s hand tightly, tears clouding his eyes.
“W-where’s Raph?!” He squeaked, looking up to Simeon for an answer.
“Call Diavolo.” Simeon instructed, turning and running to his room to change his clothes.
-------------------
The room you awakened in was not where you remember falling asleep.
You rubbed the side of your head and groaned as you sat up on the concrete floor. There was a large bump with dried blood caked over it just above your right ear, and you hissed when your fingers gently grazed it. You tried to remember how the hell you got here, but the last thing you could recall was getting ready for bed while Lucifer was in the shower. You don’t remember falling asleep, but you assumed you must have, since there was no other memories beyond that to cling to.
Your vision spun as you tried to adjust to the dark, damp place you now found yourself laying in. You shriek as you felt a cockroach skitter over your hand, trying your best to maneuver away from where the bug had crossed you. You were stopped by the pull of a chain on your ankle, almost causing you to trip over yourself. Your eyes widen as you sit back and try to release your ankle from the chain locked around it. You glance around the empty room, trying to find something- anything- to ground yourself in where you were. You call out a hello, but get no reply. Your blood runs cold, and fear consumes you, causing you to begin hyperventilating.
“L-Lucifer!?” You nearly sob out the yell, trying your best to see in the dark around the dimly lit room. You desperately wanted to know where he was. Whatever was happening would still be terrifying, but at least you’d have your lover here with you. Instead, you were met with silence. The only sound that could be heard was the sound buzzing from bugs flying around the cell, and occasionally what sounded like an air conditioner springing to life, but you weren’t sure what it was, since the cell was hot and humid. Clearly there was no air conditioning here. Fat tears roll down your cheeks as you try to catch your breath and calm your raging heart, that felt like it was going to completely explode from your chest.
You were alone.

Lucifer hummed to himself as he stepped out of the shower. He stretched before reaching for a towel to dry himself with. After a few days worth of arguing about Simeon and your bull-headedness about rekindling a relationship with him, you both had finally calmed down enough to return to your normal intimacy. He had hated fighting with you; it made him feel horrible when he felt the urge to raise his voice. But you both finally came to the agreement that you wouldn’t spend time with Simeon alone, though you did want to involve him in more areas of your life. Despite Lucifer’s continued discomfort, he did have to admit that Simeon’s behavior had gotten slightly better as the days went on.
Maybe he was finally starting to get the hint that you weren’t changing your mind about your relationship.
Lucifer threw on some briefs quickly before calling out to you, asking if you could bring him his robe that he had left draped over his dresser. He needed to go down and finish some paperwork, after all, and he wasn’t about to go down in just his underwear. He paused, awaiting your reply...but it never came.
He sighed, figuring you may have fallen asleep already. While you had basically healed fully from all you had gone through, and it was rare that you felt random waves of fatigue like you had in the past during your treatment, he figured it wasn’t outside the realm of possibility that sleepiness had taken over you.
Residing to grabbing his robe himself, Lucifer made a silent reminder to remember to hang it up in the bathroom when he was done. He stepped out of the bathroom, feeling a cool wisp of air brush against his bare skin.
Lucifer shivered. Hadn’t he lit a fire before his shower? He glanced around the dark room, squinting to try to find where you were.
Something didn’t feel right.
“Mc..?”
Lucifer felt anxiety begin to crawl its way up his throat, making it hard to swallow. He mumbled a spell and snapped his fingers, allowing a roaring fire to be lit in the hearth once again. The moment light flooded through the room, Lucifer gasped, immediately closing his eyes and shaking his head.
No...No, this couldn’t be happening.
Not again.
He snapped his eyes back open, darting his gaze around the upturned room. A sconce was torn clean off his wall and shattered on the floor, and the adjacent wardrobe door was left hanging by only one hinge. Multiple items had been swiped off of the nightstand on your side of the bed, scatted haphazardly across the floor. One of which was a photo of you and his brothers- the glass shattered and frame contorted, as if it had been stepped on. The duvet seemed to have been gripped and dragged halfway toward one of the corners of the room, and what appeared to be splatters of blood marked up a few areas on the floor and the bed sheets.
Lucifer felt his heart jump into his throat. He had to be dreaming...Diavolo, please...this had to be a dream. His eyes, now wet with tears, frantically darted around the room, trying to find his phone. He spotted it on the floor, having been kicked just under the bed. He dove for it, shaky hands trying to dial Diavolo’s number.
The line began ringing, but before anyone could have the opportunity to pick up, Lucifer felt a large hand clamp over his mouth and yank him backwards. He struggled against what felt like the firm grasp of 3 individuals, wriggling violently in their grasp. The individuals struggled to keep him still, until a sharp pain rippled through his neck. He roared into their hands, the noise muffled from the tight grip they had around his mouth.
“Lucifer..?” Diavolo yawned into the phone, curiosity piqued in his voice. “Why are you calling so late?”
He tried to make loud enough sounds for Diavolo to hear and continued to writhe, trying desperately to get out of their grasp. One of the individuals picked up the phone, hanging up the line before turning their eyes to Lucifer. He glared at them, nose turning in a snarl as they locked eyes.
Uriel.
“Give him another dose.”
Before Lucifer could process what they had said, another sharp pain was sent rippling through his neck. He tried to yell- to call out to one of his brothers for help- but his ability to speak began to fade as he felt his face go numb. The other hands dropped from his mouth, feeling that he would no longer be able to use his voice. His vision blurred, distorting the image of Uriel gripping his cheeks.
“Your compliance in this process will make it less painful for you.”
Another sharp pain was sent through his neck, causing Lucifer to whimper. He blinked, trying desperately to keep his eyes open as his brain begged him for sleep. He was dropped to the floor with a thud, and his legs were taken up as the other individuals dragged him back toward a portal in the corner of the room where the duvet had been dragged toward. He was uncertain how he hadn’t heard them open the portal, or walk through it at that rate, but at this point he couldn’t even focus on how or why the Seraphim had gotten into his room.
All he knew is that they had taken you, and he needed to protect you.
He gritted his teeth, pushing his demon form through in desperation. He tried to beat his wings against the floor, trying to make as much noise as possible to alert his brothers to what was happening.
A final sharp pain went through the muscles on his neck as he tried to yell out for Mammon. The noise only came out as a breathy whine, as his eyes finally drifted slowly closed.

As he shuffled out of his clothes and worked on rapidly putting on his jeans, Simeon dialed Lucifer’s number.
The line rang, but there was no answer.
He dialed again.
and again.
and again.
The line continued to go to voicemail on every attempt. Simeon cursed under his breath, not knowing if Lucifer wasn’t answering because it was him, or because he couldn’t.
He switched tactics, checking his watch to see the vibrant numbers spelling 3:33AM shining accusingly back at him. He shook his head. There’s no way any of his brothers would be awake right now, so he better try all of them.
First he dialed Levi, who was the most likely to have been awake at this hour, who’s phone rang a few times and then went to voicemail- likely having just collapsed with fatigue. Next he tried Mammon, who’s phone went straight to voicemail, probably as a result of the phone being dead and him forgetting to charge it. He then tried Satan, then Asmo, then Beel- all having rung and went straight to voicemail.
He swore aggressively, kicking over the nightstand in his room. Were all of these fuckers able to sleep through anything?!
He finally sighed, dialing Belphie’s number. He had given up before the phone even finished ringing, figured he’d have to go directly to the HOL and wake them all up himself. To his shock, he picked up, and Belphie’s gruff, sleepy voice groaned through the line.
“Whaaaaaat?”
“Belphie!” Simeon nearly screamed in the phone, causing the sleepy demon to groan again.
“Hey, take it easy.” Belphie yawned through his words. “Don’t you know what time it is, Simeon?”
“Yes, I know! But please, just listen!” Simeon snapped, his frantic voice finally making Belphie pay more attention.
“What’s the matter?”
“Can you check on Mc and Lucifer?” He panted, twisting his body through his shirt while trying to keep the phone pressed to his ear.
“What?” Belphie’s voice was more alert now, anxiety becoming apparent in his tone. “Why? Did something happen?”
“Just do it!” Simeon snapped, trying to balance on one leg as he pulled his boots over his feet. He shifted to the next one as he heard Belphie hurriedly pull himself out of bed and speedwalk down the hallway.
There was a pause after he heard Belphie knock on Lucifer’s door. Simeon gulped freezing in a position with one boot on.
“Lucifer? Mc?” Belphie called to them, knocking again.
Another pause.
“Simeon, It’s nearly 4am. They’re probably sleeping. Can you please tell me what’s-”
“Go in. See if they’re there.” Simeon rasped out, not realizing how close he was to a full-blown panic attack.
“Simeon, come on-”
“JUST DO IT.” He yelled into the phone.
“Jeeze, Alright!” Belphie snapped back, then mumbled grievances about Simeon’s volume under his breath while he jiggled the handle on the door.
Simeon heard a creak in the floor as he awaited Belphie’s response and snapped his attention toward the doorway. Luke was standing there anxiously watching him.
“I-I called Barbatos. He told us to come to the castle immediately and that he’d wake up Diavolo and call Solomon.” He squeaked out through tears.
Simeon gave him a weak smile. “Good job. Now go get dressed, we’ll be leaving in a moment.”
“Mc, Lucifer..? Simeon’s on the phone and- W-what the fuck!?” Belphie’s panicked yell from the other side of the line jolted Simeon’s attention back to the phone.
“What is it?”
“Simeon, what’s going on?!” Belphie’s voice was firm and laced with worry.
Simeon swore under his breath, realizing that he was already too late. “Get your brothers and come to the castle. Now. I’ll explain when you get there.”
Belphie attempted to ask another question but Simeon hung up on him, finishing lacing his boots and rushing to Meet Luke, who was haphazardly dressed and waiting by the front door.
What if Thirteen prefers to fly solo because she knows the weight of her job? To her, it's better to extinguish the candles of random strangers she's never met and probably never will meet than a friend or a loved one. As she gets closer to MC, the harder it is going to be for her when the time comes when their candle eventually goes out.
