Ok listen up, this lovely gif set here, which I screencapped, is NOT a great parallel by any means. Not reblogging because OP didn’t do anything wrong and I’m not here to start wank but can I just say that these two situations are completely and utterly different??

I am not much of a J*n stan, more for the North and the Starks👍 BUT here, he is being merciful to Mel and banishing her as punishment for her wrong doing - according to Davos ( burning young children as sacrifice is still absolutely horrible no matter the beliefs) and this was a warning to her. However, there is a merciful bent to it because Jon isn’t someone who likes hanging, killing ppl unless absolutely necessary.

Compare it to the threat by D@nys the Menace to Varys, who dedicated and risked his life even to ensure she would get to KL and take back the throne, been at her side ever since, believed in her for the good of the realm. And here she goes up to him, feeling paranoid and distrust (which is valid tbh) and threatens to burn him alive if she finds out he betrayed her. And not an ounce of remorse in her eyes. She will actually follow through it if it comes down to it. No mercy, nothing.

This is where any semblance of like or interest I had for D@ny, totally left me. Her arc had been uninteresting since S2 and this scene with Varys nailed that coffin shut. I’m just like, “Bitch, you won’t know loyalty unless it hit you right smack in the face like a brick. And Varys has been on your squad for ages now and you say that shit to him? Not cool.” Dunno about anyone else but I have a code that I live by and it’s called ‘loyalty - ride or die, we in this together boo’.

And so nope, they may have the same blood but they are NOT alike at all, despite it.

I say, yes, wake the dragon if you must, but slay it - for the good of the realm.

What kind of person...

I’d like to stop being afraid of every goddamn thing that comes into my peripheral senses. I’d like to be able to have a conversation with those I love and care for without an overwhelming discomfort in my chest and upraised tenseness in my shoulders. I held a conversation with my mother by phone this evening after having neglected to do so the preceding month or so. My baby sister answered the phone, she began telling me about her day in the same mannerisms a child always does. With an enthusiasm profound and blinding in its conventions, she had gone to a lake with her mommy and daddy and she swam, and camped, and many other wondrous verbs. When she had finished expelling all these sentiments she said ‘gbye’ with the same rapidity such a spelling conveys and haphazardly threw the phone back to her mommy. My mother picked it up off the ground and proceeded to speak to me in that voice she always has, the one only her children are privy to, one of unwavering affection and love. She asked how I’d been, not once questioning my absence and inability to communicate back all the instances she had reached out. My heart began palpitating when she suggested that we see one another soon, I wanted to say yes so badly. Instead I in a muddled tone affirmed her inquiries to my existence, our conversation beared a parallel response to what I would give an online survey. Why? Why, do I do this to them? She told me the other day, my sister hurt herself whilst at play, rather than crying for daddy as she so often did she cried for her big brother. The big brother whom is so afraid to interact that his chest subdues him whilst talking to his own mother. The big brother whom has had free time but could not bring himself to seek out their company. The big brother whom is afraid of every goddamn thing he sees, feels, and thinks. These people care so much for me and I shun them out of fear. I become discomforted by their inquiries, and I shut down when anything legitimate and emotional could manifest.

I held a conversation with my mother this evening, and although I may be the one alone, I’m the one whom has left them alone. What kind of person am I?
