June, week 2: Orpine, cultivar âMunstead Redâ (formerly Sedum telephium, now Hylotelephium telephium) -- we added this plant as an autumn nectar & pollen source for the bugs. It will grow along like this until sometime in August, when it will throw up big clusters of dark red flowers that are very popular with butterflies & other insects. In addition, these succulent leaves are edible -- theyâre crisp but watery inside, a bit like a cucumber.
We also have one H. spectabile âIceberg,â but itâs not looking quite as handsome right now (someone other than me is eating its leaves) so Iâve spared it a public viewing.
No. 80 Buy A Pair Of Black Dungarees
DONE
For no other reason than I love dungarees and wanted a black pair.
Seriously though, I do have a bit of a thing for dungarees and pinafore things at the moment. I seem to spend half my time in some form of denim.
80. Have a Sleepover with Girlfriends
I have never quite understood the appeal of sleepovers, or slumber parties with friends, and can only really recall one time in which I attended one. There were just too many individuals in such close proximity and I have never been one for crowds - especially when I sleep. Then there is the added stress of waking up at different times, I tend to wake up much earlier than everyone else, but that's not to say I will necessarily get up at that time. I will then proceed to lay in bed listening to the silent and gentle (or not so silent and gentle) breathing of those around me, unwilling to stir lest I should rouse them. So, when faced with the opportunity of staying in a hotel suite for a friend's 21st birthday, I realized this would be the only acceptable format for a sleepover. Non-alcoholic drinking games, and itchy bathrobe in place of pyjamas aside, it was an enjoyable night with a lot of laughter, picture taking, and ignoring counting calories to indulge in amazing chocolate mousse cake. Oh, and did I mention I ended up with an entire queen bed to myself? Thank you, you lovely young woman. Enjoy this wonderful year and many more to come.
I so hope this isn't true. Love you DD!
Iâd rather have a life of âoh wellâs than a life of âwhat ifâs.
Anyone can make you smile or cry, but it takes someone special to put a smile on your face when you already have tears in your eyes.
