Yk? I get why we have the term,

But.. I hate the term "non-passing" in trans spaces, cuz 1. Do you know how many CIS people are out there being non-passing?? Gender doesn't have a look, people just be looking like people, and generally fall somewhere on the scale of "masculine — feminine" no matter their gender,

2. People's ideas of Masculine and Feminine can be wildly different, like to some you have short hair, you fall under masculin even with DD cups, and you have long hair, you fall under feminine even with a massive beard, and to others you wear a huge victorian gown with a full face of makeup and you still fall under masculine, and you wear a 3 piece suit and a mustache and you're still feminine. Assigning gender based on looks is stupid as fuck — and quite frankly? Makes a lot of young people, trans and cis, feel real fucking self concious about themselves — and a lot of adults too! And

3. Because frankly as a feminine trans guy? Who genuinly loves and embraces "femininity"? Who loves to dress in all pink and wear makeup and is currently growing out my hair? Again. Gender doesn't have a fucking look. I'm not a "non-passing" trans guy, I'm just a feminine guy. I just like "girly" stuff. And frankly, I find that I tend to pass even better as a guy when I do wear girly stuff —partly because I walk around with more confidence because I'm feeling good— but like, I really hate the term non-passing, cuz for years I was deep into this toxic idea of masculinity, that I can't like makeup, I gotta keep my hair short always and I can't let my chest show, I have to wear oversized men's clothes, and it took so much fucking effort and suffering to undo that for myself, and like.. I genuinly do not want that for any other people. We should all be able to embrace femininity, masculinity and androginy as much as we feel like to feel ourselves.

I feel bad for my dad.

Im trans (FTM) but I dont pass. At all. I have long hair and wear skirts if im in the mood and not getting any surgeries until im 25+. Doesnt help that I have a lot of masculine features from my father.

So in public when he calls me by my preferred pronouns (he/they) you can always see a stranger pause in confusion, quickly look over at me and continue the conversation. Ive so far has 3 people trying to correct him "you mean her?" And point at me.

I quickly step in and confirm hes right about the pronouns but, Holy shit.

Im so nonpassing they think im MTF and my dad is just being transphobic. 😭

Shout out to the Texans who try correcting my dad, I respect what you were trying to do.

I hate how more binary side of the trans community seems to explode whenever medically non transitioning side becomes just a little bit more visible. No, the fact that more people are talking about being comfortable in their body and not pursuing surgery isn't a personal attack on you, no, there isn't too much non-op representation, it's not a fucking cake. And why are we at a point where desiring someone who doesn't want to change their body for it, and not in spite of it is labeled as fetishism left and right? I fuck with fetishists lowkey, they think I'm hot and make representation I can relate to and we can relate to each other.

I'm gay as in genderfucks and cis dudes and girls with dicks and if it's all three somehow then even better because that's something like me, homo in its very literal definition because I said so, and I'm not telling you what my gender actually is unless you have an hour to spare. What was I born as? I wear push up bras and boxers, I hope that doesn't help you in the slightest. I am not exempt from any bigotry because that's not how that works. Bigots don't ask if you're part of group a or b before making your life shit. I won't wear labels for anyone else's convenience, I didn't just happened to be trans, it's integral to my relationship with masculinity and femininity and sexuality and attraction, and you will acknowledge me just as well as you acknowledge everyone who wants to or happens to align with conformity.

I will make damn fucking sure of that.
