I think the reason I seem to find some "leftists" arguments against veganism more annoying that the typical dudebro, conservative justifications, is the ramifications these responses have.
An old guy being annoying saying that vegans are pussies, or saying that he loves meat and doesn't care about animals being killed or abused is awful, and bigoted, but it's just something that that guy's personally saying to justify himself.
However, a non-vegan "leftist" claiming that veganism is actually racist and xenophobic and classist and whatever the fuck because some people on earth cannot eat plant based 100% of the time or some shit, is not just trying to justify themselves.
No, they are looking to justify themselves by creating an anti-vegan narrative based on misinformation. They are not just justifying something awful, they are purposefully trying to paint a social justice movement in the worst light they can, so they can feel good about themselves. It's lies and misinfo about a movement that already struggles with people misunderstanding our core values or objectives for starters.
It's equally as bad, at an individual level, but it hurts the movement more to spread this misinformation, especially bastardising social justice terms and language to do so.
