Light is transmasc and bi, he once tried smoking but got so nervous about disappointing his parents he ended up throwing up so now when he smells cigarette smoke it makes him queasy, has played WoW before but ended up hating it cause some twerp named "MattaMillion69" kept spamming him with slurs.

L is pan! he doesn't care about gender or sexuality he just goes by if anyone can be as smart as him, has a small doll that Near made him in his pocket, he keeps anything the wammy kids make him, has smoked a cigarette once but didn't like the taste.

Near is nonbinary, ace and pan! They make the people that they like small trinkets, once when Mello was being more annoying than usual they stared at Mello for 23 minutes before she snapped and started yelling.

Mello is transfem! She doesn't put a label on her sexuality, she likes playing games with Matt even though she acts like its a huge inconvenience, she also keeps a doll that Near made for her but not because she actually respects them or anything!

Matt is bi! He plays WoW constantly just so he can try to find the player "GodKing11" again just to say sorry for bullying them when he was 12, loves legend of Zelda lore, doesn't believe in ghosts but also doesn't say ghosts aren't real, somehow became the person to get Mello and Near to stop picking on each other.

Misa is a lesbian but thinks the admiration she has for Light is attraction, doesn't like wearing headphones cause she doesn't like not being able to hear around her in case someone breaks in or sneaks up behind her, love love loves cats, has kissed a girl once but got scared about how much she liked it.

Sayu is a lesbian, she has seen Light talk to a random corner of the room before but thought stress was getting to him, has bitten Light before because he kept putting her stuff where she couldn't reach it when he was mad at her, has snuck out before to see her girlfriend, likes Misa's music, has told Misa if things don't work out with Light to give her and her girlfriend a call.

I've said Yagami Light from the 2015 drama would be an evil stepfather. I stand by that. However, I think having Near as a stepchild after you killed their father would be worse.
