Book update: Publisher has let me know that The Ward Throne is getting nudged back to February 2027. So one extra month! I'm not mad about it, although my inner gremlin wants it NAO DAMMIT lol. Just means more time with the editor!
In the meantime, I'm chatting with a friend who wants to record the audiobook when the paper copy releases. When editing is done, I'll be able to send out ARCs to my advance readers for reviews! @orangekittyenergy (who is one of my favourite humans for all her work on this! ❤️) is still plugging away at the cover, which looks SO GOOD SO FAR and I'm so excited to show everyone soon, once that's finalized!
In the meantime, I've been playing with the Nortantis program that @greyias linked me to (Grey, you are a wonderful human being for all your behind-the-scenes help! 😘), and I think I now have a world map for the entire world, and a zoomed-in bit for the section where Ward Throne actually takes place! Because every self-respecting fantasy novel needs a map. 😉
Publisher has also said that preorders should open about two weeks or so before the book hits shelves/Amazon. So stay tuned for me to excitedly screech about that!
My novel progress was at 1% because I have it... an idea, just floating in my brain.
But today it has reached a whole 2%!!! Because I have it.... a notebook, to help bring my idea to life!
Very proud of the big step I took today, will have novel done in no time 😎
So I’ve decided to really buckle down and begin to work on a novel this year.
I’ve always wanted to actually publish something but I’ve put it off for years and I’m just… not letting myself anymore. But! I have a bad habit of getting discouraged in my original stuff (one reason why I’ve put it off) so I’m going to start giving weekly updates on my writing here. Will it help? I have no idea, but I think it will push me a little to have the accountability of posting something every week. Feel free to ignore them, but just a heads-up that I am about to start making regular posts about this book!
As a first update, all I can say is that I am getting lost in the weeds of outlining. This is the first thing over ever outlined and I sort of hate it but it is also helping me. There is a story forming, but I’m sort of afraid that in this story I’m losing my main character, if that makes sense. I had a very strong sense of who they were and now in the course of figuring out the plot I’m not sure that I do anymore. It’s making me want to go back to the drawing board, but I’m not sure if I should just finish outlining first and see what happens.
Chapter 12 done! I'm not as far as I want to be but getting there.
Novel Progress #1
Yeah that's right fellas, I'm writing a g/t "novel" ahush By novel I mean, multi-chapter story with outline, planning and all that.
Worldbuilding is half done! But there's still many small details I have to add ugh, painn
Anyway, my designer side spoke louder and I ended up making a moodboard for my story, so I think it'll be nice to share it to y'all as sneak peak hehe
(I added a color pallette for no reason at all lmao)
OKAY, fun question time: based on this moodboard, what do you guys think my story will be about? I wanna hear y'all's answers! (u can send me an anon ask too if u're shy)
Okay one sec hello Tumblr I’m going to show off my December writing progress for a moment because omg
Yeah?? 31k words in December :D :D
And we’re STILL in Part 1 (the laboratory arc).
This is gonna be a good year.
