taekwondo matches are usually very quiet, solemn as everyone watches the athletes win against each other. but nishinoya will always be your proudest, loudest fanboy. as soon as you get your newest win in the belt, breathing heavily at the exhilaration— noya beats you to it. "WHOO! THAT'S MY BABY! LOOK AT THEIR FIECE FACE! THEY'RE DATING ME!" he's decked out in self-made merch of you, waving his banner wildly as he meets your eyes and love, so much love and pride, is shared between that one gaze.

Hiii can I have a haikyuu match up? 

I am a 16  year old, 5'2, bisexual female who has sandy, curly hair that was once shaved on the left side but is not growing back so it is short and fluffy on one side and a couple inches off of my shoulder on the other.  I'm also a bit chubby despite liking to workout

  I love listening to music/ singing and dancing (badly). I also really enjoy photography and I also like tennis. I like to play video games but if I'm being honest I don't play many but I like Minecraft and interactive story games such as Detroit Become Human and Until Dawn. I also like cooking/baking and trying new foods. I enjoy trying new things in general. but sometimes it takes a bit of encouragement to do some things. 

I'd personally like someone who would go and do fun things with me and would encourage me. I'd also like for them to have a sense of humor, especially dark humor.  

  On the 16 personality test I float back and forth between INFP and INTP. But I mostly get INFP

Idk I'd you know what it is (I personally hadn't heard of it until like a month ago) but on the unrequited love candy test I got Apple candy. And let me tell ya something, it CALLED ME OUT. If you don't know what it is I can give more info on it if you want me to!

I feel like I don't really know myself or that I don't express the me inside my head to others. I'm kind of stubborn and I stay firm on my opinions, some have said that isn't the best thing but I used to be a pushover but I'm not anymore so I think it is a good thing. 

I try to help others and be nice to people when possible. I'm mostly quiet unless I'm comfortable with the people around me or I have to do something for school. However I do have fairly good confidence but I use to not have good confidence because I used to have a speech impediment and that just made me a quiet person. I also get fairly good grades but I do procrastinate doing a lot of stuff including schoolwork.

    I'm also fairly clingy and require attention, not 24/7 though: I do need space and time alone. But I wouldn't like them to ignore me or leave me on read (unless they are busy and they inform me) because I like getting attention from my s/o I'd also give then a lot of attention and affection, speaking of affection my love language is physical touch. I absolutely love cuddling even if we're kind of doing our own things (being on our phones, reading a book, one of us playing a game, ect.)

Of course!! I match you with noya!!

Noya loves to go places with you and encourages you to do new stuff unless he knows for sure it's too dangerous (he doesn't want to see you get hurt at all.) Noya always tells you when he has a game so you don't worry and of he accidentally does he'll give you little gifts as an apology, also of he knows he's gonna be gone for a while he'll leave gifts hidden around the house for you to find.

Noya is also clingy but he knows when you need your space so when you do he'll probably find something to do by himself as well. You and noya cuddle a lot (I'm from if your just watching a tv show to even when your playing video games together.) Noya loves to support you in the things you do and even will try them out of you ask him to. Noya loves to cook with you but most of the time it just ends up in a playfully food fight or him burning the food (he's not that good at cooking.)

Noya will try to help you not procrastinate but he does to so most of the time it doesn't work out. Noya also likes to have deep conversations with you about your opinion, even if he has a different one from your own (he knows we all think differently and can have our own opinions.) Whenever you start dancing to a random song, noya will happily join you and act silly. Noya may be a good ball but he can be serious when he needs to be for you.

Random headcanons: haikyuu edition: haikyuu pairings I think practiced kissing and why pt1

Tanaka and noya: there was no romantic tension they just made out with each other for like bants it was practice it was simply practice to them no other reason to do it they simply wanted to be fucking prepared for when they had to make out with someone, they were simply thinking ahead

Kuroken : even if it wasn’t romantic at first they definitely started like practice kissing because they’ve been friends for so fucking long they just trusted each other so when they we’re watching a sitcom and two friends kissed for practice Kuroo was like “that’s a really good idea like I don’t wanna kiss anyone and be unprepared” and Kenma was like “you make a good point we should like practice kiss because we trust each other right I I don’t trust anyone the way I trust you so if we practice kiss each other it’s not weird and we won’t suck at kissing s anyone else” and it just became a thing they did

Bokuaka: after hearing from kuroo about like the whole platonic kissing thing and how it improved his friendship with kenma Bokuto without even trying to be romantic mentions it to Akaashi day he was like “Akaashi I heard that kissing is a really good way to like be close with your friends I think we should platonically kiss” and Akaashi who has been harbouring a crush on Bokuto since he first met him was like what and Akaashi was like “why would I wanna do that? why do you wanna kiss me platonically?!”and Bokuto was like “you know it feels right Kuroo said it was a really good thing to do he and kenma make out platonically and they have a really good relationship” so against Akaashi’s better judgement they start making out like as a regular thing and he’s terrified the entire time that it means more to him but it does Bokuto because Bokuto said platonically and he was like “wow and now I’m in love with this son of a bitch so what do I do with my feelings I’m going to get my heart broken” whereas Bokuto was like “wow I’m so happy Me and Akaashi are making out our relationship is great I was totally right but like maybe I wanna hold his hand but that’s still platonic right because holding hands comes before making out and I’ve already made out with him and that’s totally platonic ,I want to go on dates and hold his hand I love how we’re such good friends

TsukiYama: so Yamaguchi was the one to bring it up to bring it up to Tsukkishima one day he’s like “hey Tsukki I think that we should like kiss each other for practice cuz you know I get really nervous and I don’t wanna like screw up the first person I kiss but since we are such good friends if we kiss each other it won’t count right like it won’t count because we know each other so well we are basically the same person if we kiss it won’t count and Tsukki was like “ Yams you’re so fucking stupid why would I kiss you we’re friends that’d be weird like you’re supposed to be bad at your first kiss that’s the way it is don’t be ridiculous no one cares if you’re bad at your first kiss that is normal” but after Yams brings that up Tsukki can’t stop thinking about it

i wouldn’t say noya is underrated entirely, he’s actually really popular; but i think he’s underrated for his actual character.

timeskip + inarizaki match spoilers ahead!

anyone on haikyuu tumblr in the past month have seen the nishinoya screencaps from his backstory. he was a scaredy-cat as kid, until his grandfather told him that fear would get him nowhere and it’s actually holding him back. from there on, noya completely changes. he becomes bold, boisterous, spontaneous, and energetic. i think his backstory with his grandfather had a considerable influence on his character. i love love love the relationship he has with asahi, it’s so interesting and sweet. one of, if not the greatest enemy nishinoya has is fear. he’s so vocal against it, talking about how you have to take every chance, disregarding the worry and fear behind it. asahi was exactly the opposite. a worried, anxious mess, completely scared of everything. this upsets noya because he sees the worth in asahi, he sees the things he could do if he wasn’t scared. i think this is so important because it’s a reflection of himself. noya probably thinks about all the chances he missed when he was younger because he was scared. so much chances to improve and grow, thrown out because he was worried about the consequences. he sees asahi, someone strong and powerful to become a top ace, but scared to do anything, and it makes him mad. he clearly expresses to him that there is so much he could do if he wasn’t scared, and asahi resists, continuing to blame himself without doing anything. and there we get the broom scene, the Great Asanoya Argument, and their whole reconciliation arc.

another thing about noya that is so!! overlooked!! is his self-derogatory nature. it’s canon that whenever someone compliments him he responds with something he did wrong. he’s constantly trying to improve. when he got suspended he trained with the girl’s volleyball team and during the tokyo training camp he tried to learn a new skill to benefit the team. noya is to be very extraverted, and that is often associated with having a lot of pride and self-worth but it’s actually the opposite. i brushed over this a bit in the analysis i did for oikawa, but extraverted people are often very self-conscious. noya never really brags about himself (this may be wrong i haven’t watched haikyuu in a while), he’s always pointing out ways he could improve or get better and sets out to improve these things. that’s why getting praised makes him so flustered because he doesn’t really see himself as cool as tanaka and hinata especially make him to be. he’s always searching for ways to improve :( i love him so much.

one thing that completely stumps me is that noya drops volleyball. he has the skills to be on japan’s national team but doesn’t take that chance and decides to travel the world and fish for marlins. this actually made me really upset when i first read about it because i want to see noya in a national team uniform he could’ve done so much?? Nishinoya Yuu (26) Libero is something ive been dreaming about for ages. it didn’t really make sense with his “take-every-chance-you-get” theme because getting into professional volleyball is a major chance that could’ve gotten him into so much more places, but he decides to dip and travel the world. this makes me think that he’s been wanting to travel the world for a long time, maybe he just got tired of volleyball, or he possibly saw traveling the world as a greater chance than going national. (or the angsty explanation would be that he couldn’t stand to see tanaka get married to kiyoko so he just ran away that @myelocin came up with) anyway, at the moment i havent really sat down to think about why that happened, and i really wish furudate could give us more information about that.

i got really lazy and tired and i didn’t include a bunch of other things i love about his character that is overlooked buttt for now take whatever this is lol
