Another number name today! The surname 八並 seems to mostly be read Yatsunami, as it is here, but I've also found some sources for Yanami (especially as a first name) and Hachinami.
八 is the number 8. It’s read や, や.つ, やっ.つ, よう, ハチ, or ハツ. It's also the source for the katakana ハ.
並 is a very useful kanji to know! It can mean row, line up, to rival/equal/rank with, besides, or as well as. I promise to go deeper on a future post, but for now, remember that it's read な.み or なみ, or なら.べる, なら.ぶ, なら.びに, ヘイ or ホウ.
Regarding the number names ask, as a programmed system ourselves, we don’t fucking care lmao. Within our own system, our number names have hyperspecific meanings, and number name meanings change depending on the org/person/sidesystem or even layer, so it just does not fucking matter. If someone wants to name themselves 82, or something? Who cares. I know not all programmed systems will have the same opinion as me, but it’s primarily non-programmed systems who say this shit I’ve found.
.
Got in a fight with a sys on syscord that came from a sysblr over our alter having a numbered name when hes literally a conditioned (not programmed, its complicated lol) alter? And they said it was disrespectful to THEIR trauma for our alter who had an assigned name to have said name. Because it triggered THEM for US to have an alter with a name like that?
.
i think what that one person meant by number names a few posts back, refers to RAMCOA systems? this is just going off of something i heard from discord, apparently members in ramcoa systems are numbered by the abusers in some cases. entirely not sure though
Thank you for this tip, I was able to use this to find some extra info/arguments about this. (/r/DID post describing a confrontation about this)
This is almost correct; It's the person with DID who is referred to by a number, not being called different numbers for different alters. Although there are people who believe that there are cults/abusers who abuse people into developing multiple personalities specifically, I couldn't find any evidence of this actually happening outside of un-cited carrds.

As is often the case, inspired by a Pat Bellew post.
I hear that it was originally in french just a great dozen (dozen dozen), but of course English has a homynym, so...
