O'Dessa dir. Geremy Jasper | 2025
SADIE SINK AS O'DESSA GALLOWAY O'Dessa (2025) Dir. Geremy Jasper
ATTENTION QUEERS!! I'm gonna put you into some good shit.
Do you enjoy Hadestown?
The Hunger Games?
How about Huskerdust shippers?
Music?
Greek mythology?
Vaguely unsettling horror?
Watching gay people fall in love?
Do yourself a favor and watch O'Dessa. Genuinely I think it's the best movie I've ever seen. Look at this funky shit
Hey why is nobody talking about the gender bent Orpheus and Eurydice retelling with Sadie Sink that just came out?
Hi, I was lucky enough to find your blog recently and I love it so much. Thank you for collecting all of these role reversal stories in one place!! I wanted to ask, do you know of any role reversal stories where the woman is masc/butch presenting in her looks? It's really hard to find those kinds of stories in general but especially for f/m role reversal...
Thanks again for what you do. It means so much!!!
Heellloooo anon! Thank you so much for the sweet message! I'm so glad you enjoy my blog, it means a lot <3
Sorry for not getting to this ask sooner, I had it in my drafts but was hoping I would be able to check out some titles I had been wanting to before posting this, but I didn't have the time so it got delayed for no reason π’
For masc presenting FLs.... They're unfortunately very rare, so I only have a few but always something I'm on the lookout for.

β¦ One of my all-time favorite RR movies O'dessa has a great masc-presenting FL. If you haven't watched it already, you HAVE TO!!! (my review)
β¦ Goukon ni Ittara Onna ga Inakatta Hanashi is a japanese drama where all three FLs are masculine-presenting! (I didn't finish this drama because the comedy threw me off (definitely will this year), but I hear there's at least two RR couples). This also has an anime adaptation and ofc a manga but I haven't checked out either yet.
β¦ Chinese drama Oh My General has a masculine FL (very Mulan-core) that presents masc and acts masc. The ML is kinda unbearable early on but he gets better.
β¦ Since pickings are so slim, I'll include My Lady General and A Gentleman Is like a Mu because both FLs wear only general's clothing, no flashy make-up and also behave pretty masc.
β¦ If you haven't checked it out, indie game Both of Us are Supposed to be Dead has a very masculine FL and she's amazing! Only the demo is out so far. (FL is the redhead)
Sadly, I watch too many asian dramas for my own good and the masc woman rep is... not great π
There are a couple that I'm still uncertain about because I'm still watching them, but are giving the vibes. Love in Between (left) (FL so far looks masc enough to pass for a boy, but I'm still in the first quarter so idk if that'll change later (knowing cdramas, I feel like it will)) & The Devil Judge (right) (SFL looks quite masc (especially for a kdrama) but idk if her and ML will actually have romance, it does seem like it but it's also so bromance-heavy, lol). Will update if/when I finish them.
These are all ones I feel like were intentional with their masculinity and didn't just put a glammed FL in masculine-looking clothes and called it a day. Still beats nothing but that isn't uncommon either so I didn't include them.
There's also a few I haven't watched/read myself yet, but are on my PTW/PTR list and have a masculine FL: Otonari Complex (left) (also adapted from a manga) and Lady Crystal is a Man (right).
Hopefully I'll be able to add to this list soon and you maybe find something you like! If anyone has reccs, cometh forward and share!
Now, I'm not surprised that O'dessa hasn't gotten much traction. Mainstream media wouldn't know a creative film if it hit them. What I AM surprised about is that there is practically no response to it at all.
Usually the queers, feminist, or film nerds will pick up a movie that flops and say, "this is a special piece of treasure just for me," but again, I'm seeing none of that!
Where are my fellow freaks! O'dessa is a visual masterpiece, the music is lovely, O'dessa and Euri are a pan for pan genderfuck couple, and I know that even the villain Plutonovich is a great character for those of you who want old men carnally (I say this with love).
This post will get maybe 5 notes if I'm lucky, but I will cherish each one.
I swear Sadie Sink at this point has a type
