Whatever Dawa is talking about, Ver isn't really a fan lol
I've redesigned them yet again, but it was fun using Lolirock poses!

NextGen Kiddos. Kind of a re-draw of this.

wip: finally finishing this.
(finished: [zutara] [taang] [sukka])
Doodle of Mai, her kids and the guy who sometimes accidentally calls her Mom (who is also her son, but don’t tell him that).
new favourite thing: how short mailee’s kids are compared to taang’s.
For the quote prompt list, #12!
“Despite what you think, I am completely capable of taking care of myself!”
"Tenzin."
Aang has very rarely heard his son's name be spoken with such tension, such barely contained annoyance, and he doesn't look up from the vegetables he's roasting just yet, but he can't suppress a grin, either. Next to him, his wife snorts.
Tenzin is wringing his hands.
Dawa scowls up at him.
It's a familiar scene.
"Please sit down. I can handle this."
Kavi peeks over his book. Mirth is dancing in his eyes when he meets Aang's glance for a second, and it's easy to imagine the grin he is hiding behind the pages.
Tenzin is still standing, because he is a fool, and this is his first time dealing with a fiercely independent pregnant woman. His father hasn't prepared him well at all for this moment. His father thought him a smarter man than himself.
"Just ... let me do it", he says carefully, hand creeping towards the basket she is holding. "I don't mind, and you really should rest ..."
Aang winces.
Toph snorts again.
"Well, I don't mind, either!", she snaps, annoyance bubbling over. "Because despite what you think, I am completely capable of taking care of myself! I can do our damn laundry, and if I wanted help with it, it certainly wouldn't be yours right now!"
She whips around.
Her in-laws have busied themselves in the split second it took for her to do that, or at least attempted to.
Kavi is holding his book at a frankly ridiculous angle before his face, and Toph is suddenly very concentrated on the space rock bracelet she is always wearing. Aang has gone back to stirring their dinner.
"Kavi!"
The boy sits up straight, dropping the books into his lap.
"Yes!"
"Come with me."
She doesn't wait for him to respond before stalking off in a huff.
Kavi jumps to his feet, winks at Tenzin, and then hops after her. It takes him only three long steps to catch up, because he is a giant of a teenager who has to take just one step for every two she makes.
Tenzin deflates.
"I just wanted to help", he says helplessly, gesturing after them.
"Oh, and you went about it in the stupidest way possible", his mother says.
He pulls a face.
"Well, what was I supposed to say?"
"Nothing, kid. Just ... wait for her to ask for help, because trust me, she will. She is much less stubborn than I was, and even I eventually admitted defeat. And stop hovering. It helped immensely when your father cut that out."
"I wasn't that bad."
"At one point, you were literally hovering so I wouldn't notice you hovering. You absolutely were that bad. Don't be like your father, Tenzin. Learn from his mistakes."
Tenzin sighs.
